May Rats be all over your Kong, ya Hoosier. We bow to your Firstness.

NDHoosier

Ha! I have retaken my rightful place on the TAH Tavern Throne of Firsts! Bow before me, Dickweeds!

Now, repeat after me: “Let’s go Brandon!”

Hatchet

And Buck Joe Fiden!!!

ChipNASA

Oh sure, I decided to type FRIST.
I’d have probably been FIRST, had I not had the urge to be a smartass.
Well, Happy BLACK FRIDAY to all. I hope you’re raping and looting and pillaging properly and being polite about it.
NO TRAMPLING!!
There’s enough high priced handbags and jeans and perfumes to go around.
If not, you can always go to the NEW and IMPROVED $1.25 STORE and LOOT THERE!!!!
YEAH!!! And don’t forget to politely burn it down after you’re done emptying it out. No need for it, cause of the supply chain shortage.
No new taxes products to refill it up so, ARSON AWAY!!!

Make San Francisco GREAT BURN again!!

Oh and Congrats on the Friday after Thanksgiving *BURP* 😀 WoT First NDHoosier

A Proud Infidel®™

I heard that San Francisco stores now have signs saying “PLEASE limit your theft to less than 10 items and PLEASE, no window breaking”.

Hatchet

And before I bug-out for ceremonies – Cong-rats to you, ND!! Well played, mon ami. Well played…

Holy smokes!!! ND Hoosier wins AGAIN! The coveted, never given, always earned FIRST goes to NDHoosier once again. Congrats, congrats! I plead slowness from yesterday’s Thanksgiving feast. In response, I offer another week of trivia! May you all enjoy. DID YOU KNOW…? What real incident led to the “Police Academy” series of movies? By Commissioner Wretched didyouknowcolumn@gmail.com Thursday is (or was) Thanksgiving. I have to put it that way because I don’t know if you receive your newspaper before or after the holiday. It is my sincere hope that you have (or had) a wonderful holiday, filled with the sights, sounds, smells and tastes you wanted. I hope you get (or got) to experience your Thanksgiving with the people you love the most. Thanksgiving is a special time of year, and a perfect time to give thanks. I shall give thanks to the one truly outstanding person as far as this column is concerned … you. My deepest thanks to you for reading this silly stuff and for sharing it with others. You’ll never know how much that means to me. So for your Thanksgiving, or for the day after, here is this week’s helping of a trivial dessert! Did you know … … Americans eat roughly 535 million pounds of turkey on Thanksgiving? (I’ll let you guess how the turkeys feel about that.) … a rap artist once tried to rent an entire country to shoot a video? In 2010, rap artist Snoop Dogg (born Calvin Broadus, Jr., 1971) attempted to rent the entire European nation of Liechtenstein to shoot a video. The attempt failed – not because of any rules or laws, but because the government said Snoop didn’t give them enough notice. (Proof, if you ever needed it, that money talks and that timing is everything!) … a mail-order company created one of the most successful advertising slogans ever? In 1874, the mail-order house Montgomery Ward offered its patrons the slogan, “Satisfaction guaranteed or your money back.” The slogan was added to the third catalog from the firm, founded by Aaron Montgomery Ward (1844-1913) in Chicago. Yet another excellent collection of fun-filled facts! Thank you Commissioner Wretched!! I always look forward to this post and TAH’s Sunday Funnies…

> (What really saddens me is the number of younger readers who have no idea of who Jack Benny was.)

About ten years ago, I was at Half-Price Books when I saw something I thought my mother would really enjoy. DVDs of the Jack Benny Program – 39 episodes! I picked it up. She was delighted.

Jeff LPH 3, 63-66

I have 20 Jack Benny on radio CD’s along with a shitload of other Radio programs. Great stuf to listen to, and of course TV killed the radio shows with some remaining into the late 1950’s.with a number of radio shows going over to TV.

MarineDad61

Kneejerk reaction here.
lol
Every time someone pulls out the Buggles,
I pull out the 2nd video ever played on MTv.

Commissioner Wretched

Benny was truly “theatre of the mind.” You knew just what his vault looked like, with Carmichael the Polar Bear and Ed, the old, old guard … you didn’t have to have it shown to you. Old radio rocks, and I listen to it daily in my car on XM.

Hatchet

And speaking of Police Academy, a little known Hatchet fact – I worked as an assistant Prop-master on Police Academy 1 and 2. To this day, I can still hear George (GW) Baily bellowing MOVE IT, MOVE IT, MOVE IT!!!! Fun times…

P.S. that silver-ball-topped drill cane that GW Baily carried throughout the movie? Mine. Still have it.

Commissioner Wretched

Fabulous!! I loved the first two “Police Academy” movies, but the quality went downhill beginning with #3, in my opinion.

MarineDad61

Hatchet,
Very cool (prop).
I always hoped to have an authentic Three Stooges prop,
but they are impossible to find,
and most are either gone, or buried in California garages,
many unknown to the owner, and now lost to history.

MarineDad61

And… (a website topical segue)
Don’t get me started on Three Stooges
PHONY props and PHONY autographs.

When folks started shelling out $500 for “Curly”,
in pencil on a shard of brown tablet paper,
it opened the floodgates for phony autographs.

David

Could be worse, Ma James used to sell any old gun she could find as Jesse’s. By all accounts made a good living off it for years. Most “Jesse James Guns” provenance is junk.

SFC D

Cabbages are 91% water and 9% fart.

RGR 4-78

Is that a 30-caliber frog?

Sounds kinda like Dave’s .308 Magnum.

Frankie Cee

“… cabbages are 91 percent water? (What’s the other nine percent, I wonder?)”
My father, long deceased, once said that the strongest ingredient in any cabbage concoction is “Fart Berries”.

SFC D

Jack Benny would be canceled as a racist today. Rochester’s family is owed reparations.

Commissioner Wretched

Which would only prove how silly the left can be. Rochester always came out on top in any dealings with Mr. Benny … Benny was the butt of all of the jokes on the show. He was way, way ahead of his time.

Thunderstixx

I lost count of the rimshot/Zildjian* crash on that trivia, history, reading exercise of a type of amusement known only to the great WOT audience.

Zildjian, the only serious choice for cymbals, since 1623, it is the second oldest existing company on Earth. Baretta, was founded in 1526, and began their firearms business making cannon barrels throughout the various wars that were rather commonplace during the founding of the new world of the America’s.
So, that’s my 2 cents worth.
Merry Christmas everybody !!!

Hatchet

Wasn’t for lack of trying… Still, makes it a very Happy B-day for me.
Cheers to all here!!!

KoB

Happy Hatchet Day, Hatchet. We’re glad you’re here to share it with you. You share this day with my Baby Sister.

Draw you some from my Jameson Stores, and have one of these Tampa’s Finests. The Zippo is fueled.

Hatchet

Bruv, your DA BEST!!! Tampa’s finest? Cool. It’s been quite a while since I’ve enjoyed one of those.. And I’m honoured to share this calender day with your Baby Sister. Thanks again.

AW1Ed

Regards, Hatchet. Congrats on completing another lap around the sun.

Hatchet

Thanks Ed. Looking back on this year(to include my involvement with TAH) – in spite of recent ‘accidental’ events, it’s been an absolutely GREAT year!! Cheers and thanks again, Ed.

David

My parents’79th anniversary had they not passed. A good day! Congratulations!

nobunny

Happy birthday ye olde farte!

Hatchet

Thanks nobunny! Coming from you – it means the Earth to me!

Commissioner Wretched

Many happy returns of the day, Hatchet!

Hatchet

Thank you, Sir!!

Graybeard

Happy birthday Hatchet!

Hatchet

Cheers Greybeard. Am presently in transit but! I have my iPad with me,(insane laughter) I’m able to launch multiple salvos of ICB… No. I’d…really..better keep that one to myself. Suffice it to say I can communicate with the world with one of these and they’re kinda cool. Like Tony the Tiger used to say “They’re GREAT”!! Off I git.

Hatchet

Heading out tonight for tomorrow’s ceremonies-no worries KoB, haven’t forgotten. Catch up with e’body on Sunday! Doksa!!

Frankie Cee

Hey there, Hatchet Thanks for commenting at my blog. Starting a new one, like this, takes time to build a reader following. You and a couple others are making it happen.
For those who haven’t seen it, check it out. I am sure it will never top TAH in interest or readership, but I will try to offer interesting posts for y’all.

I feel like the unicorn watching Noah’s ark float away: “Oh, yeah, that was today!”

Was able to get my nursing-home bound brother out to our house to celebrate Thanksgiving a day late with him, and his birthday a day early.

Well, still FIRST in the hearts of our children (in-law, out-law, and by-law) and grandchildren.

FWIW, butternut squash cooked like sweet potatoes with brown sugar, nutmeg, and pecans on top is absolutely delicious.
10-y-o Granddaughter makes a great pumpkin pie, too.
Favorite Son-in-law did a superb job with the turkey and with his gumbo as well.
Ate so much I went comatose for a while afterwards.

Y’all have a great weekend.

6 days in on my most recent FAKEbook jail sentence, I really think that I will rid myself of that Liberal, Leftist, Control Freak site. Piece of shit, sorry leftists think they have the right to limit what I say.
All because I said that I feel safer around Kyle Rittenhouse than around Alec Baldwin. AND, that was after he was found “NOT GUILTY” by a Jury of His Peers.
Read about it here:

MarineDad61

Frankie Cee,
It appears FakeBook has now lifted the pro KR posting ban.
You might (now) have APPEAL rights in your favor.
Give it a try, and let us know.
Call it “early release”.

Frankie Cee

I tried, but failed to find any way to appeal the post. Fuggem.

MarineDad61

Frankie Cee,
Don’t appeal the post.
Appeal the FakeBook Jail sentence.

Frankie Cee

More FAKEbook run around. Not enough reviewers to look at complaints. Blaming it on the C0V1D is just a ploy to suppress dissenting opinions.

Frankie Cee,
Well, we’ve got the US Government / NPRC using the virus excuse for backlog and long delays in processing FOIA requests for redacted military service records.

Who knew… that FakeBook farms in India and South Africa
are having the same troubles??

Welcome back to the —- show.

Some new presumptive diseases for compensation.

Bladder Cancer, Hypothyroidism and Parkinsonism.
Also some new locations outside RVN such as
Thailand,Korea and Alabama. A testing site in Gulfport

In my pre-Catholic days, I put the tree up the Saturday before Christmas and took it down Christmas night.

Now it is up from the first day of Advent through January 6.

For those interested. The La Palma Volcano eruption is at Day 72, (11/29/21). It is burning buildings, destroying highways, but adding building acreage to the island with the lava that is flowing into the Ocean. The Livestream can be quite boring, but I have found some interesting moments, with big eruptions.
