Weekend Open Thread

| November 19, 2021

Religion and science both identify two genders. However, the side of the argument that believes that we should “believe the science” also contains a group of people who want you to take a leap in faith with regards to the “number of genders.” Enjoy your weekend.

Things are looking up!
I’m out in NIMBY Tower for Cell Service Land murdering trees.
Back to work.
Have a GREAT wknd y’all!

KoB

Is being Third FIRST the same as a trifecta? May Kong bring you Rats My Brother. If ChipNASA hadn’t been over there on the other thread, flirting with nobunny, he mighta, coulda, woulda been a contender, but NOOOOOOOOOOOO, he’s thinking with the wrong head…AGAIN!

Gather up some of them murdered tree pieces and parts and build up a fire for coals. Home Boy just dropped off some Bambi Beast that is suitable for grilling. And gimmie one of them Miller Lites. Little too early for the Crown and I don’t want to fill up on hops. Oh…and light my ceegar, your Royal (pita) Firstness. Signed….Knave

ChipNASA

Threadstalker LMAO.
😀 😀

The Stranger

Miller Lite? You okay, there KOB? Blink twice if you’re under duress and I’ll dispatch a rescue team with some nice, cold Yuengling. As an aside, my boss sent me a bottle of Buffalo Trace straight Kentucky bourbon. Haven’t tried it before so it may be part of the Thanksgiving festivities!

KoB

Just being po-lite Pappy. Miller is what -Dog keeps in stock. We have to patronize the Boy cause, you know, he is Infantry. I ‘preciate the SAR offer. I gots my emergency case of Yuengling Gold frosted down in my ruck…for…reasons. I will endeavour…I will persevere.

That thar Buffalo Trace is some mighty fine sipping whiskey, no need to wait til next week to start the festivities. Thank ye kindly, pour me a shot in my Troop K, 9th Cavalry Buffalo Soldiers shot glass that I picked up at Fort Robinson NE. On second thought, pour me a coupla shots in my coffee cup with the same markings. Y’all get a chance to, you need to visit that Fort.

Fyrfighter

KOB, my boy was up at the fort a month or so ago shoeing their horses and mules.. good stuff..

Speaking of good stuff, for those that wanna get their Irish on, I recently tried “Fighting 69th” Irish whiskey, and went right out and bought me a bottle. Nice smooth stuff.

ChipNASA

Dang…well it’s ROH-DAWGGIE!!! TIME!!!!
Con of the Grats and enjoy your coveted WEEK as Lawd of the Playground.
I was paying attention until I wasn’t and then BOOP, it’s 5 after 3.

Since my Birthday falls on Thanksgiving this year please remember to thank the Lord of the DW’s that I was born !!!
We will now return you to your regularly scheduled program of actual sanity in the Great State of Wisconsin and the Grand City of Kenosha as one Kyle Rittenhouse is given the only verdict that was just.

NDHoosier

Dammit, this week’s first was stolen from me, and I have the proof! I have an affidavit signed by five Democrat state attorneys general that my first was in yesterday! The document was found in a convenience store shitter in Detroit and is on its way here in a VW bug plastered with Bernie for President stickers. I demand that the TAH Tavern Electoral College overturn Roh-Dog’s fake first or I’ll….I’ll….I’ll…FART in front of the British Royal Family!

Hatchet

Quick post-accident update: went in for my ortho-assessment and also had the bonus of having ALL my stitches pulled yesterday. Less encumbered, I am now able to *slowly* type two-handed again! My very first rebellious act of digital dexterity? Funnily enough, it wasn’t a big fat middle finger to all the drunk-drivers of the world… Unknown to me, the last four stitches in my wrist/forearm had become impacted so while the Doc and nurses were discussing what to do next, I recalled what my Grandmother-a former OR nurse- used to do in such cases. I asked one of the nurses for a wet surgical towel and proceeded to soak the wound-site for the next five/ten minutes and when they weren’t looking, I grabbed the scissors and tweezers and pulled the last stitches out myself. While the Doc said he wasn’t overly impressed with my junior OR skills, he did give me prop’s for getting it done correctly and quickly. While I’m still pretty sore throughout, got to say it’s a huge relief just to be able to flex and extend my right arm again. Walking without looking like I’m Frankenstein’s younger brother…well, still working on that. And while I’m still waiting on a hard-date for my initial surgery – like the Chicago tune goes – Feeling stronger every day. In the mean time and good to my neighbour’s word, I’ve got a big bottle of Yukon Jack to get into. Not surprisingly, my first glass will be hoisted in the direction of nobunny(thanks for the cue!) and naturally my second glass will be hoisted in the direction of KoB(Prince of the Golden Elixirs). To all TAH denizens who have commented, thank you for your prayers and support throughout. Cheers to all here.

Hatchet

Whoops! Sorry ND. Didn’t mean to tread on your thread but if it helps, I’m no fan and I’ll fart in the general direction of the Royal family too. One exception; only if you let me give Prince Andrew a lengthy and protracted kick in the nuts… Cool?

nobunny

You’re a tough old bird, Hatchet. I’m impressed with your skillz. 😉

If you’re into mixin’, in my youth we mixed that Yukon Jack with apple juice or cider and cinnamon sticks. Just titrate to effect.

Hatchet

Thanks nobunny. I’ll suggest the ‘appa juice or cinnamon sticks to Missus Hatchet. Tough ‘ol bird that I is, prefer my Fire-water straight up. BTW, your youthful tastes approximate my present tastes but in all fairness, I am in my third childhood…
Cheers!

Frankie Cee

I just shot some RemOil down the barrel of my rifle so that I can “taste the smell” during my range exercise, commencing in 5 or 6 minutes. Just walked by to say hi, and to let you see what I do with my spare time:
https://frankieceecanseetheseasi.blogspot.com/2021/11/train-train-and-then-train-some-more.html

Sapper3307

Did that scope get zeroed OK?

Frankie Cee

Not yet. I pulled it off and put a Walmart Bushnell on it that I had. Not much but I can hit the target again.

Hatchet

Like your Blog, Frankie. Got it bookmarked. And now that I’ve got the time – going to visit it more often. Cheers.

Only Army Mom

Not first but close enough.

Good start to the weekend, a little bit of my faith in the justice system has been restored. Good to have it confirmed we have the right to defend ourselves. I’m not going to test it in person, have cancelled plans to go into the city tonight, and cancelled plans to go to Wisconsin (friend’s house warming) tomorrow as I would have to travel through Kenosha to get there. So, how much of a right do we have to defend ourselves after all?

ChipNASA

We always have had it, it’s just about how it’s adjudicated.
In case I am remiss later, a Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family in advance.
as I just said to a friend of mine who used to be a resident of Fort Bragg and their SpecFo accommodations, <b< " America is getting tired of the rot, the cancer some have inflected upon us and the pendulum has reached it's apex and has started its return."
I hope that I am not wrong in my observation and my wish for us all. Well, “all”, as in the right/correct thinking Americans.

KoB

OAM, you showing up would warm any friend’s house…and their life. You have surely warmed up ours…and remain a light of ours.

Be ye safe in your travels. I would hate to test my nervous doctors theory, that no matter what I do, I will not have to stay in jail.

One thing for sure that I have been Thankful for of late, is that you are a part of our TAH Family. His Blessing and Peace Be Upon You.

Graybeard

Avoiding a potentially bad situation is, in general, a good move, OAM.

But, in a way, when we have to change our lives to be safer, the bastards have won a round.

Regardless, thankful for having you as part of the TAH family.

Commissioner Wretched

Congrats to Roh-Dog on yet another FIRST! In honor, how would you all like a new trivia column? I happen to have one right here … DID YOU KNOW…? Did a popular singer-dancer suffer a heart attack while filming a television show? By Commissioner Wretched didyouknowcolumn@gmail.com Thanksgiving looms ahead, and it behooves us to consider thankfulness in our everyday lives. Life itself, of course, should be at the top of the list. After all, it’s rather difficult to make a list of any kind if you aren’t even alive. The many blessings we have received are definitely things to be thankful for. I’ve had more than my share in my 63 years, for which I am deeply grateful. Consider, though, being thankful for those situations that went wrong as well. When events went awry, in many cases the result led you (and me) to change our lives for the better, don’t you find? Well, I do, anyway. So I’m thankful for what I’ve received, for what I haven’t, and for those unexpected times when my life changed at the drop of a hat. He who makes those decisions knows what’s best for me, and for you, too. So let’s hope you’re thankful for the trivia I am about to provide. Read on! Did you know … … what the words “facetious” and “abstemious” have in common? The five vowels (a, e, i, o and u) appear in the proper alphabetical order. They are the only two words in the English language with that distinction. (It fits, though, that these are not words found in common, everyday use, I think.) … the law in Texas makes it a crime to put graffiti on a cow that doesn’t belong to you? (It is pretty annoying to the cow, as well.) … the word “hippopotamus” means “river horse”? Despite that, hippos are more closely related to pigs than to horses. (But “porkapotamus” is such a silly word, isn’t it?) … the Hundred Years’ War was misnamed? The conflict between England and France actually lasted 116 years, from 1337 to 1453. (But who’s counting?… Read more »

To add,

Sublimate: To be transformed directly from the solid to the gaseous state or from the gaseous to the solid state without becoming a liquid.

Commissioner Wretched

The first draft of the column had “sublimates” instead of “transforms.” My publisher suggested the change … seems he doesn’t think a lot of our readers would know what “sublimates” means.

NDHoosier

> … the law in Texas makes it a crime to put graffiti on a cow that doesn’t belong to you? (It is pretty annoying to the cow, as well.)

That reminds me of a story. A former co-worker went to visit a friend in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Orange spray paint had been applied to his livestock. When my co-worker asked about it, his friend said that he kept losing livestock to over-eager hunters looking to bag a deer – so he painted “HORSE”, “COW”, etc. as appropriate on the sides of his livestock in orange spray paint. He never lost another animal to hunters.

UpNorth

True, it also happens in numerous counties in the lower peninsula.
Amazing how many “hunters” don’t know a deer from a Guernsey cow. Or a draft horse.

Thunderstixx

If there are any spiders on Antarctica, they are probably a leftover from the Norwegian and American study teams from back in the 80’s…

That’s what my trivia posts need … more rimshots!

Hack Stone

Hack Stone was so upset with the Kyle Rittenhouse verdict that he decided to go out and protest this gross miscarriage of justice by starting his mostly peaceful Christmas shopping early. Not too worried about protesters taking out their frustrations on the proud but humble woman owned business that sells software to the federal government formerly located in Bethesda Maryland, as the windows on the corporate headquarters have been boarded up for years.

A Proud Infidel®™

Speaking of shopping, I heard that Wal Mart is giving away FREEE TURKEYS to anyone who can outrun their Security Personnel.

UpNorth

Most days around these parts, that would be a free turkey. Walmart doesn’t seem to have many security people, or any other people working lately. Especially cashiers.

Graybeard

Some years ago our local Wal Mart allowed a Boy Scout Troop to sell Christmas trees from their lot.

They had some stolen from inside the fence, and the “security guard” told them he’d seen them climb the fence, toss some over, and drive away.
His job, he said, was to write a report about what he’d seen, not stop the thieves.

I kid you not.

Anonymous

Observe and report… worse than VA folk on a coffee break.

rgr769

I was an armed security guard for about six months after I left AD. I would have pulled my Browning HiPower and arrested the thieves, even though we were also instructed that our job was to “observe and report.” Nowadays, that would prolly get one doing so prosecuted.

Green Thumb

Curious as to what the False Commander “Phony” Phil Monkress (CEO of All-Points Logistics) thinks about this?

His expertise as a Navy SEAL should be highly sought after considering his intimate and expansive knowledge of CQB in Somalia.

MarineDad61

Anything on the near horizon with new phonies?
Or new pages on existing already outed phonies?

I sure wish the US Gov’t
would step it up at the records agencies,
and dig away at the backlog of FOIA records requests.
How many businesses and individuals,
no less this website and other SV sites,
are dealing with real life issues and troubles
(caused by suspected phonies)
due to the delays?

Green Thumb

There is always new stuff with Phil Monkress.

Especially with his new posse of Phildo Supporters.

MarineDad61

Green Thumb,
I just something NEW today (from yesterday)
in the small world of
Phony 2 Purple Hearts Thomas Cole…
enough to email the screenshots to VG admin.
Ugh, that small town (of Pendleton, Indiana).

MarineDad61

(edit) I just SAW….

MarineDad61

Green Thumb,
New shit burning detail in Pendleton, Indiana.
Screenshots (6) of surprise PM to me

by a key player in that county
just sent to (2) VG admins.

BONUS — (HINT) — For everyone…

Thomas Cole claims his Bronze Star (with V)
was earned HERE….
Yes, it’s a mission by SPECIAL FORCES.

Also, Cole admits 2 Purple Hearts was a mistake.
A typo.
But Cole showed (and then pulled)
a certificate for 1 Purple Heart,
and other stuff,
and left no copies behind to those he showed,
taking it all with afterwards.

This is pulling the wool over a town & county,
not only the adults,
but targeting children, boys, Boy Scouts.

sbalm

Yet his friend Todd Hulsey claims Cole was wounded twice and saw the bullet holes.

I guess one of them was a cigarette burn?

Shot Twice

MarineDad61

sbalm,
That’s NOT what came out today….
1 bullet hole displayed to 2 others,
1 Purple Heart,
1 typo (about 2 PHs),
although typing out the word “twice” on LinkedIn
isn’t exactly lookin’ like a typo.

Caught with 1 set of lies,
Thomas Cole created a whole new set today.
And Cole got 2 others to believe it.

KoB

Maybe the wounds came from when Todd’s “gun” had a negligent nocturnal discharge?

MarineDad61

KoB,
It appears that TH has either retreated to hibernate in a new cave, or forgot his password to the Book of the Fake.

A few are starting to trickle back but 80% of the time they exonerate the individual. Sometimes it is splitting hairs and not egregious so they get a pass.

Hack Stone doesn’t want to live in a world where a guy who has been convicted of raping multiple 9 year old boys has to fear being shot while assaulting someone during a riot.

Cryin’ shame, that.

First Twenty First.
Just got back from Orthopidic Doc for problems with the shoulder I had rotator cuff surgery last June 8th. I messed it up but don’t know how. Doc says only way he can do something is with an MRI or I get a cortisone shot and wait until Dec 3rd to see if I need an MRI. He thinks area is inflamed so the shot should bring down the inflamation. Possible strain?? I see now that President Trump is not in office, the Guard was called in but when he was in, the Gov didn’t want to call them in so he could blame Trump.

RGR 4-78

F#####k I’m old.

Here’s what The Cat in the Hat says about that:

My body’s drooping
Have trouble pooping

Sometimes I remember some of the shit I’ve done, and gotten away with, and I am glad I did it when I did ’cause those days have come and gone. It’s been worth it, so far.

You’re just a kid. Claw and I were in the Viet of the Nam when you were still in grade school.

See everything is relative. Some would say you are just fully matured.

RGR 4-78

I am relatively sure that if it wasn’t for the arthritis in my hands and back I wouldn’t feel so fully matured.

When I typed that, I had just finished deboning the deer I had killed. What used to take less than 2 hours, now takes 5 or 6.

rgr769

My old man, rest his soul, used to say after he hit 75 that “getting old ain’t for sissies.”

Fortunately, my ailments are limited to moderate spinal stenosis (I discovered I am 5’11” now but used to be 6’1″) and peripheral neuropathy in my feet (likely from good ol’ Agent Orange in defoliated jungle).

RGR 4-78

I thought I was the only one who had shrunk.

I cannot imagine what it would be like for someone that spent a whole 20 as a Paratrooper jumping and rucking.

Tiger King 2 dropped this week on Netflix. All I can say is them big cat people are as crazy as ever lol.

One thing that did catch my attention though was in the 1st few minutes of episode 5. Tim Stark is rambling on about how he’s got PETA and the government in his crosshairs while sitting on top of what looks like an old WW2 Era tank. Then he makes the bold claim that he is a trained US Army sniper.

I don’t know if there is any truth to that or not. He does seem waaaay too unhinged to have ever been a US Army sniper. Might be worth checking out…

Roh-Dog

“He does seem waaaay too unhinged to have ever been a US Army [S]niper”
Um, it depends on what your definition of ‘is’ is.

According to The Internets, Stark was ‘born in the 1960s’. Withs the formal current iteration of USASS opening in 1987 this is a possibility.

Having not seen the show but hearing of the antics, I second “checking [the claim] out”.

Frankie Cee

FAKEbook is biased, but then we all knew that. Very early this morning, I posted a graphic showing Kyle Rittenhouse and scripted as “I trust Kyle Rittenhouse more than Alec Baldwin.”, and within an hour caught a 30 day jail term.

A Proud Infidel®™️

Hell, the Zuckerfuehrer minions once gave me 30 days for posting a meme that insulted Che Guevara, shows what side of the fence those snowflakes are on!

rgr769

A minor correction on your post. Kyle was found “not guilty” not “innocent.” No one is ever found innocent in a jury verdict. Although, in Kyle’s case, most of us do believe he was innocent of any wrongdoing, since if he hadn’t shot those rioting a-holes, he would be dead or permanently crippled. After he shot pedo-man, the mob likely would have beat him to death, as that is what they were trying to do when he shot the last two.

MarineDad61

Frankie Cee,
I called out FakeBook (and Twatter) on the Kyle article,
that they banned pro Kyle support over a year ago.

The internet is all over it yesterday,
but crickets from both FB and T.
They should have lifted their bans by this morning.
Ugh, that sucks.
I’ve gotten 2 bans of 24 hours in the past.
I suppose strike 3, for any reason, is the 30 days.

LC

Here’s a throwback – Mr. Kirk Hartle claimed someone voted as his deceased wife in the election:

https://twitter.com/NVGOP/status/1325136289000087554

Well, he was spot on with that allegation! Someone did do that, a monster with the name of .. wait, Kirk Hartle? Yep, he pled guilty to doing it himself the other day.

https://www.8newsnow.com/news/local-news/nevada-man-who-voted-twice-using-dead-wifes-ballot-sentenced-to-probation-fined-2000/

MarineDad61

LC,
Now the turd Dems will admit to some election fraud,
that is, when they see a turd GOP voter doing it.

LC

There’s always been voter fraud – and, naturally, it’s investigated and often charged, albeit to varying degrees. That’s good, regardless of the political affiliations of those who commit it.

But that’s a far cry from the allegations of full-on election fraud, for which we have zero evidence. And throughout the past few months, there have been stories of everything from North Korean subs dropping Biden ballots off to supercomputers that magically manipulate votes realtime from Germany to election companies in cahoots with the ghost of Hugo Chavez to ‘mere’ tens of thousands of people across every county fraudulently changing outcomes to steal things from Trump.

Everyone should care about the first, and do their best to ensure it remains incredibly rare. Everyone should also laugh about anyone suggesting the second happened without any proof, and perhaps suggest heavy medication for the more surreal conspiracies.

LC

Just to be clear, Fyr, the first story is different than the one in the second two links – the first is a guy who plead guilty to forging his deceased father’s ballot to vote for Trump.

The second is an allegation of mass levels of fraud that, frankly, doesn’t hold up to reason. In a related suit, Savage, the defendant, says he’s been accused of ‘uploading’ 50K votes for Biden, and in the article you linked, they say Trump was ahead by 7,515 votes before they were finalized.

Well, let’s look at Delaware County in 2012, 2016, and 2020:

2012:
(D) Obama : 164,805 (60.4%)
(R) Romney : 105,270 (38.6%)

2016:
(D) Clinton : 169,169 (59.4%)
(R) Trump : 106,559 (37.4%)

2020:
(D) Biden : 206,709 (62.96%)
(R) Trump : 118,639 (36.13%)

Now, if they’re suggesting Trump should’ve won Delaware County, or even just that Biden somehow got a fraudulent 50K votes, meaning this would’ve been the lowest turnout in years despite national trends going heavily against that, I think they better have some damn good evidence. Because right now, the math doesn’t back that up.

In other words, we continue to have a few random stories of individual fraud, predominantly by Republicans, I think… and then we’ve got lots of allegations of mass fraud, but math and a lack of evidence suggesting otherwise.

LC

More craziness from the (on) crack legal mind of Sidney Powell – she allegedly tried to get the DoD to send a special operations team into Germany to capture an injured Gina Haspel -yes, the CIA director!- who was, for some inexplicable reason, acting as a field officer and destroying election tampering evidence. So, Powell wanted the military to launch a capture mission to get her to ‘confess’.

https://www.yahoo.com/now/ex-trump-lawyer-sidney-powell-184926516.html

That’s not just ordinary levels of idiocy, that’s “Holy-fucking-shit!” levels of idiocy.

Poetrooper

LC’s contribution to this site is that of showing up once in a while and dropping a big, controversial turd in the TAH punchbowl.

Which is in contrast to how Lars shows up here periodically with a punchbowl full of turds that he dumps in a steaming heap in the middle of comment threads and then hauls ass for cover…

LC

You don’t think a news article about how one of the key lawyers in the whole ‘stolen election’ nonsense is utterly insane is relevant?

If it were President Biden’s lawyer suggesting all this stupidity, we’d have whole articles about it, not just me posting a link in a WOT.

And if it’s controversial, that’s on you – it shouldn’t be. It should be widely recognized that she’s a nutjob.

Heartbreaking. Our condolences to and our prayers are with the respective pilot’s families and their extended family and friends in the USAF community.

Those T-38s. Since the newest airframes are 50 years old, it’s long past time to replace them.

This Professor needs to be hired by CNN. He can co-host with Jeffrey Toobin.

———–TWELVE COMMANDMENTS FOR SENIORS———

# 1 – Talk to yourself. There are times you need expert advice.

# 2 – In style are the clothes that still fit.

# 3 – You don’t need anger management. You need people to stop making you mad.

# 4 – Your people skills are just fine. It’s your tolerance for idiots that needs work.

# 5 – The biggest lie you tell yourself is, ” I don’t need to write that down. I’ll remember it.”

# 6 – On time is when you get there.

# 7 – Even duct tape can’t fix stupid – but it sure does muffle the sound.

# 8 – It would be wonderful if we could put ourselves in the dryer for ten minutes, then come out wrinkle-free and three sizes smaller.

# 9 – Lately, you’ve noticed people your age are so much older than you.

# 10 – Growing old should have taken longer.

# 11 – Aging has slowed you down, but it hasn’t shut you up.

# 12 – You still haven’t learned to act your age, and hope it never will.

————— and one more ————–

“One for the road” means going to the bathroom before you leave the house.

Claw, those are classic. The last one is especially accurate for us oldsters with oversized prostates.

#13 – Look in a mirror when you talk to yourself.

It helps.

Holy Waukesha Wisconsin crap.
This c—sucker in a “Red SUV”
took out a marching band, and others,
during a parade today,
a few miles away from Kenosha.
At least 30 injured at current news count.
Video here….

MarineDad61

Fox 6 Live says it was a “dance team” of girls 9 – 15 years old
that the Red SUV plowed through.
No word if the SUV and driver are caught.

Your link is unavailable. The Tube of You doesn’t want people to see the videos of this vehicle mowing people down because the driver is a 39 year old pavement thug that just was released from jail on 11/19 form multiple felony charges. But you can see his gansta rap video in the comments on ConservativeTreehouse.

There is also a link to a police scanner recording of the discovery of the car. They found this clown because the cops found his ID the murder car. His Book of Fake also shows he is a big fan of BLM.

MarineDad61

rgr769,
Found his real name.
Making the news now.

An upstanding young man and pillar of the community.

Curious as to Obama’s thoughts on this one.
