NYC workers pummel brazen attempted robbery suspect until he flees
NYPD is looking to identify the suspect wanted after the failed Bronx attack
By Danielle Wallace
A recent attempted robbery in New York City was thwarted by vigilante justice, as convenience store clerks banded together to beat a suspect in a shocking new video before the man fled empty handed.Surveillance footage released by NYPD Crime Stoppers shows the unknown attempted robbery suspect, wearing a gray hooded jacket, entering Convenience Smoke Shop on Webster Ave. in the Kingsbridge Heights area of the Bronx around 11:20 p.m. Saturday. Police said he demanded money, and video shows the suspect first reaching across the counter and attempting to grab a clerk.
The clerk swats him off at first until the suspect then climbs on top of the counter and jumps to the other side. Though the footage is blurred to hide the identities of the store workers, one employee, wearing white swings and strikes the suspect. At least two other workers join in, pummeling the suspect, who falls to the ground. The worker wearing white is seen delivering several more hard blows.

Northern Illinois police fatally shoot sword-wielding man
DEKALB, Ill. (AP) — A northern Illinois police officer shot and killed a man after he approached officers with a Samurai sword raised over his head and pointed the weapon at them, police said.
The shooting early Monday in DeKalb came after a woman called police to report that a man inside a home had been drinking, was armed with a Samurai sword and had threatened to kill her and attack officers, DeKalb police said.
Officers escorted the woman to a safe location and then made numerous attempts to contact the man before convincing him to open the home’s door and speak with them, police said.
But the man instead grabbed the sword and “advanced toward officers with the weapon over his head and pointed at” officers, police said.

By Joe Holden

Police say it all started with reports a man had been shot twice around 11:30 p.m. Monday while attempting to break into a rowhome on the 1800 block of Sanger Street in Frankford.
“He actually forced his way into the property by kicking the front door, actually kicked it completely off its hinges,” Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Scott Small said.

The HI-POWER has retuned, she looks good.
I gotta save my pennies.
Saw the notice on the HP return from SA while lurking over at BCE. Caused a little stirring in my “regions”. Never been a big fan of 9mm, but that could change. Pennies? Might need to save up some folding $. Wonder if the HP floats…or can swim?
Loved the vid on the dirtbag beatdown. What street cred he had is gone now.
No matter the length of your sword, it’s still just a longer knife. And just because you have a Samurai Sword, doesn’t make you a Samurai Warrior. Rest in pieces mofo.
Call 911? PHFFTT! The Coroner…maybe. Buzzards gotta eat *spit* same as worms.
Browning HI Power kicks azz.
Well the (dirtBAG) shooter in Idaho was a vet,, BUTT he became a SHE somehow, and went on a shooting spree.
Will they blame the ARMY or the mental heath problems that Transformers (TM) have?
Hmmm, Sapper, maybe not enough coffee yet this morning?/s
I had read that the mall security guard who confronted the shooter was the Army vet.
In Philly, at least, Good Guys with Guns are on the scene and in action while the cops are still eating their donuts.
When you defund the folks you expect to come to your aid, you cannot be surprised when there is no one to respond. Decision like taking funding for personnel, equipment and training and spending it elsewhere has consequences. Same for excoriating the same folks for anything they do right or wrong.
Simple concept. If you are likely to be charged with a crime just because you responded to a call and took action that your training, procedures and legal guidance says you should do you stop doing things and become a report writing agency after the fact. happens pretty damn frequently in blue states / cities. Enjoy the liberal utopia.
It is not “vigilante” if the perp jumps the counter at you.
It is an educational beatdown session, self-defense, and justice, but not “vigilante”.
“Vigilante” is if they put up a photo of the perp and when he was next seen walking down the street they jumped him.
Words matter
I wouldn’t call it vigilante justice. THEY didn’t go looking for HIM, HE came to THEM. I would call it instant justice, swift and sure, New Yawk City style. And the dude was lucky to get away as intact as he did. He could have just as easily ……disappeared.
Bingo. From Cornell:
Vigilante justice
Behavior that resembles or matches that of vigilantes. Vigilante justice often describes the actions of a single person or group of people who claim to enforce the law but lack the legal authority to do so. However, the term can also describe a general state of disarray or lawlessness, in which competing groups of people all claim to enforce the law in a given area.
So if the store workers waited until there was no longer a threat, conspired to retaliate and then actively did so….
Unless the robber was a ‘group of “lone gunmen'” robin tha hood dude, distributing the wealth for reasons.
Once again, another data point on why you DON’T bring a knife (or sword) to a gun fight.
Doode….she’s just not that into you any more. Time to move on. Oh…..wait…..nebber mind.
