US caught by surprise by Chinese hypersonic missile test

| October 17, 2021

China sent a hypersonic missile through a low orbit path around the globe. It went down to strike a target but it hit a point a couple dozen miles away. The missile that was launched was nuclear capable. The US did not expect China to be this far in its hypersonic missile program.

From Reuters:

The report late on Saturday said the Chinese military launched a rocket carrying a hypersonic glide vehicle that flew through low-orbit space, circling the globe before cruising towards its target, which it missed by about two dozen miles.

“The test showed that China had made astounding progress on hypersonic weapons and was far more advanced than US officials realised,” the report said, citing people briefed on the intelligence.

China’s ministry of defence did not immediately respond to a faxed request for comment from Reuters on Sunday.

The United States and Russia are also developing hypersonic missiles, and last month North Korea said it had test-fired a newly-developed hypersonic missile.

At a 2019 parade, China showcased advancing weaponry including its hypersonic missile, known as the DF-17.

Ballistic missiles fly into outer space before returning on steep trajectories at higher speeds. Hypersonic weapons are difficult to defend against because they fly towards targets at lower altitudes but can achieve more than five times the speed of sound – or about 6,200 km per hour (3,850 mph).

Reuters has the story here.

    The hyperbole is astounding.

Their germ warfare progress seems to have astounded the world too.

Except for Fauci. He was paying them with taxpayer money to make super bugs.

Lot to be said for a FIRST (ht 2 Roh-Dog) Strike. Y’all listening out there in Minot?

Gotta wonder, how much of American technology was in that bird?

Glad to see our intelligence agencies are as sharp as always.

This is truly discouraging. We’ve really lost our capabilities to do things. We’ve spent bazillions and years on new weapons that never seem to get to the point of completion and readiness for combat while our adversaries just sort of keep chunkin’ out new weapon systems.

It is obviously much more important to investigate parents who want to have a say in their children’s education and whose daughters have been raped in high-school by “transgender” perverts.

I sure hope we are working on defense systems for this. Also, if Fuck Joe Biden had allowed the trend to continue from the Trump administration, we would be bringing the jobs back to our shores. China would not be able to afford these high dollar projects and we could.

  8. Odie says:

Where is our military intelligence and what are they doing.

Oops, I see my typo now that I read it, but still, what exactly are they doing.

Or was our technology just a product of bringing over the Nazi scientists after WW II? Now that they are gone are we churning out any geniuses or just Harvard SJW’s?

    • rgr769 says:

Just SJW’s and Wokarista’s, Plus, we have MIT likely churning out graduates trained in the New, New Math–the math that is anti-racist. That should lead to some fabulously successful technology.

Wait a minute! Why didn’t the Chinese General call Milley and let him know of this? Like, you know, this is what normally happens, right?

  14. Hatchet says:

So, the Russians were the first in space.. The Saturn V rocket changed that. The Chinese are also claiming to have a superior AI system / Love to see some proof of that.. As for China’s hypersonic missile test, America will bridge that gap even in spite of Biden and Milley’s buffoonery.
