South Carolina deputies kill man who fired on them from motorcycle: sheriff
It was the second fatal shooting by Anderson County police in two days

Police shot and killed a man on a motorcycle who fired on officers as they tried to pull him over on a South Carolina road, authorities said.

Robert Allen Maness, 39, crashed his motorcycle after he was shot and died a short time later at the hospital, the Anderson County Coroner’s Office said.

The two deputies in the patrol car trying to pull Maness over were not hurt in the shooting around 11 p.m. Thursday, Anderson County Sheriff Chad McBride said.

McBride said it was like an ambush as Maness pulled out the gun without warning and while still driving when deputies turned on their blue lights.

Missouri man who killed two during dispute over firewood won’t be charged. Here’s why

BY MIKE STUNSON

A Missouri man who killed two people following a dispute that began over firewood will not be charged, a grand jury decided Wednesday.

The 22-year-old shooter, whose name was not publicly disclosed, shot and killed Kalob Lawson, 34, and Jonathan Lutz, 44, in February when one of the men approached him with a gun, according to Platte County Prosecuting Attorney Eric Zahnd.

Because of Missouri’s stand your ground law, the shooter was justified in his actions, Zahnd said. The controversial law was enacted in 2017 and was later amended to include acts of self defense.

“Missouri’s ‘stand your ground’ law means people do not have to retreat before using force to defend themselves if they are in a place they have a right to be,” Zahnd said in a news release. “And while people can never use deadly force merely to protect property, they can use deadly force if they reasonably believe deadly force is necessary to protect themselves against death or serious physical injury.”

The shooting occurred Feb. 10 when Lawson and Lutz were paid $200 to deliver firewood to the 22-year-old man’s father. The son noticed his father was shorted firewood, so he followed the two in his vehicle, the prosecuting attorney said.

911 recording.

When seconds count the Police are minuets away. About eight, in this case, an excellent response time. But not faster than 125gr of .38 JHP.

A cord of firewood has been argued over ever since man discovered fire.
Shortly there after he discovered weapons. This why speech is the subject
of the first amendment and guns are the second amendment. No joke.

The SP101s seem to have disappeared from the retail market, probably thanks to Obama, Holder and the criminal Congress of clowns.

It is a handsome revolver, offered with barrel lengths to suit a variety of applications.

As to firewood? You won’t find a chord of anything in New England for $200. This is gonna be a very hard winter for a lot of folks/victims of solar schemes and windmill scams.

Looks like Palmetto State Armory has them in stock: https://palmettostatearmory.com/ruger-sp101-357-max.html.

Thanks for finding that.
Amazingly enough, they do have at least one but it’s in 2.25″ barrel. My old Airweight covers that well enough.

“The SP101s seem to have disappeared from the retail market”

I think the LCR in the same available calibers is responsible.
For CC you can’t beat the LCR. I carry one in .357 but load
all cylinders with .38 +P because ouch!

Tallywhagger

Those are excellent for concealed carry and reasonably affordable. One of the bigger dealers in the metro Boston area has several used models for $399 – $499 for .38 and +P, none in .357. Maybe they don’t come in that bore? .38 is plenty 🙂

A Sunday DRT Trifecta…WW grins. If ya gonnna get into a shootout with the popo, make sure you’re shooting at them, NOT the patrol cruiser. The popo shoot back, the patrol cruiser doesn’t.

Firewood been real cheap down here of late, what with all of the storm damaged trees. ‘From what I’ve seen, ’bout the only folks buying firewood are the yuppy puppies in the metro areas getting the shrink wrapped sticks at the grocery store, along with their bottle of wine and a pre-made snack tray.

“I’m gonna blow your damn brains out!” Go Granny, Go Granny, Go Granny, GO!

Compared me to a bear yesterday, you know, always looking for something (some Ms Thang) that tastes good. Now today, compare me to a Ruger Hand Portable Artillery Piece. “…smaller, beautiful, useful, and capable of incredible feats…” What can I say, just some Gifts from God.

Almost hard to tell from the angle, but it seems as Ms Thang’s Blouse Bunnies are nearly as full of plastic as a Glock. But, unlike the Glock, they’d be useful and fun to play with.

[After noon on Feb. 12, G A called 911,
and shot at the 20-year-old suspect twice – with her .38 and .45 revolvers.
She was able to fend him off until deputies arrived to arrest him.]

Another one,
