    FIRST!!!!

    😆😅🤣😂

THANK YOU, AW1Ed, for remembering the US Army’s Birthday. Coming from someone who loves Goats and has actually spotted those Seabats while in the water is pretty awesome…😉😎

That is why we refer you as our very own loving AW1Ed…and some of my Army Buddies STLL think you are a famous Chef hiding behind the cover of being in the Navy…😊

Let’s hope and pray that the Woke generation does not destroy our Military…and that our US Army will survive another 245 years.

BTW, did KoB and I share with you that the magic word today is…. GO ARMY! BEAT NAVY!

    😎😉

What ninja said! Check out my comment on the FGS Linky, ninja. I like to think that AW1Ed was going to post us a Birthday Wish for today, without a prod, but I left one there anyway. Also a Salute to “Old Glory”!

I love goats too, ‘specially BBQed…a dish best served from a tailgate on or about the 2nd weekend in December, well cooked, just like the (BEAT) Navy team is.

We know that our very own, Beloved AW1Ed is not a famous Chef. EVERYBODY knows that all Navy Cooks are actually SEALs and by his own admission, ‘Ed is an Aeronautically Designated Squidly Swabbie that jumps out of perfectly good aircraft (sans parachute) to get swim rings to people that had to jump out of broken planes.

And that magic word of the day? That’s the magic word everyday.

    Today is also FLAG DAY…

“I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.”

Am still enjoying this Red Skelton clip where he explains the meaning of The Pledge of Allegiance:

    Happy Birthday US Army.

    Also, Happy Birthday Mr. Trump.

The army existed for all 245. It was never decommissioned. The navy & Marine Corps were shuttered for several yrs in the late 18th century.

    • AW1Ed says:

246 years. The US soon realized it made a strategic error shutting down the Navy and rectified the mistake. They then handed the Barbary Pirates their collective asses. With Marines.

    • USMC Steve says:

Not exactly. The standing army was indeed mothballed, the concept being volunteer state regiments more closely aligned to what we would consider the national guard. The founding fathers hated the idea of a standing army, given the trouble they had just had with one from England.

The Navy and Marines were also placed into a cadre status for roughly the same time.

But remember, the first Engineer Officers were appointed by General Washington 2 days later, 16 June 1775. Happy Birthday to my current branch of service and let’s not forget to hoist one for the Engineers on Wednesday. As for me, I will toast the occasion of the Army’s birthday with a dram of Evan Williams 1783.

    • KoB says:

My Man Pappy! Here let me light that seegar and freshen up that Evan for you. Salute!

Would be interested in seeing the unit numbers of that 8″ wheeled piece. Same type as my Blood Papa drug thru Hell over half of Europe in “The Big One”. Battery C 741st FA.
