Sources: GSP trooper shoots, kills murder suspect following chase, shootout

A Georgia State Patrol trooper shot and killed a wanted murder suspect Wednesday afternoon along a busy interstate, sources confirmed to Channel 2 Action News.

It happened around 2:30 p.m. along the Interstate 85 northbound exit ramp to Riverdale Road.

Sources told Channel 2 investigative reporter Richard Belcher that the trooper was working with another agency tracking a murder suspect and got into a chase.

GSP told Channel 2?s Tom Jones that the trooper performed a PIT maneuver on the suspect. That’s when officials said the suspect pulled out a gun.

Jury finds man not guilty of attempted murder and assault in Cottage Grove

Louis Krauss
A man was found not guilty by a jury Monday of attempted murder and assault with a firearm, stemming from a shooting in Cottage Grove last August.

Boudie Lancaster, 44, is now cleared of his four counts of second-degree attempted murder and three counts of assault with a firearm in the case handled in Lane County Circuit Court.

Deputies from Lane and Douglas counties responded at about 1:40 a.m., Aug. 3, to a report of a shooting in the 72900 block of London Road south of Cottage Grove. Detectives found three people with gunshot wounds, and after investigating, arrested Lancaster on suspicion of the crime.

Court documents alleged Lancaster shot two of the three people involved and caused injury to the third person by firing the gun, resulting in “shrapnel wounds.”

Lancaster’s lawyer, Jennifer Lang Perkins, said the shooting was done in self defense and said the verdict was “absolutely the right outcome.”

Lancaster was visiting Lane County from out-of-state, she said, helping his father on a rural homestead. One night Lancaster found three people taking items from the property, Lang Perkins said, loading the items into a truck, when one man allegedly pulled a gun on Lancaster.

BZ to the GSP Trooper using all of his training skilz to rid society of another parasite. Rioting in the streets of “Reeferdale” in 5.4.3..

Another BZ to the jury in getting it right when the prosecutor got it wrong. “I don’t know what the jury found during deliberations…” They found the truth, Bitch. Come up on people stealing your stuff and a gun fight breaks out? Too bad Mr. Lancaster’s aim wasn’t a little better. We mighta had a trifecta DRT for Brother WW.

Looked at the M&P for Baby Girl when it FIRST (ht 2 Bim) came out. Not a bad little piece but ended up going with a S&W J in a .357/38. She’s gotten quite good with it.

Georgia seems to be breaking with the rest of the country re policing. Seen a good many stories of Georgia’s finest putting crims dirtside.
May the trend continue.

A hearty “Well Done!” to the GSP, for removing another bottom-feeder from the gene pool.

And to the Lane County jury, who arrived at the correct verdict.
