Biden-Harris Gun Violence Fact Sheet

| April 22, 2021

Prez Joe’s handlers have released an announcement on their Initial Actions to Address the Gun Violence Public Health Epidemic,” according to a recent White House fact sheet. The problem is a glaring dearth of actual facts. The first issue? To stop the proliferation of so called “ghost guns.” The number of ghost guns used in crimes, hell, the very number of ghost guns in existence is left unsaid, as is the methodology to deal with them. The Justice Department apparently will handle all that, or will in 30 days.

Biden-Harris Gun Violence ‘Fact Sheet’ Comes Up Short on Facts

By K. LLOYD BILLINGSLEY

“Biden-Harris Administration Announces Initial Actions to Address the Gun Violence Public Health Epidemic,” declared a recent White House “fact sheet.” One of the actions will be to stop the proliferation of “ghost guns,” but the fact sheet includes few facts about these mysterious weapons.

This is just one example of what’s missing from the announcement.

“Criminals are buying kits containing nearly all of the components and directions for finishing a firearm within as little as 30 minutes and using these firearms to commit crimes,” the sheet declared. The number of “criminals” who have bought such kits was not disclosed.

In a similar style, the fact sheet included no statistics on the number of times criminals used “ghost guns” to commit crimes. The untraceable guns supposedly “turn up at crime scenes,” but the fact sheet included no information on crimes involving such guns.

Law-abiding citizens might expect a so-called fact sheet to include data on the kind of guns criminals do, in fact, use to commit crimes. But it included no information on how many weapons recovered at crime scenes were stolen, how many were handguns versus long guns, and so forth.

The Biden-Harris fact sheet also failed to include any information on the number of ghost gun kits purchased by law-abiding citizens. In a similar style, the fact sheet provided no statistics on the number of times law-abiding citizens used ghost guns, or any legally obtained firearms, to stop a violent crime and protect their lives and property.

Law-abiding citizens may also wonder about the fact sheet’s five references to “gun violence.” On that theme, President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris both have a history.

In fact, it’s amazing that these people even know what a gun is. Are they also referring to those projectile-emitting toys one finds at paintball places, which can actually do you some damage if you’re just so by a paintball.

Lack of specificity6….. Not a good thing. But they really, really, really want to get rid of guns…. if they can just figure out what they’re talking about.

No facts? I got your facts right here: Fact 1- Stalking/Boyfriend Loophole (and that is so cute that is a “boy” Loophole in 2021). Doesn’t exist. If the courts find someone guilty of Domestic Violence they are precluded from owning a fire arm in every state in the country. Fact 2 – Firearm manufacturers have no special liability immunity. If you buy a gun from Ruger and it blows up in your face due to a manufacturer’s defect you can still sue Ruger. They want to be able to have Daunte sue Ruger after Lekkaris shoots him in a drug deal gone bad. This would be like Ford being liable for every F150 crash in the country. Fact 3 – Ghost Guns – While it is true ghost guns are being used more often in crimes the idea of tracing a gun by serial number is not rooted in reality as there is no gun registration (yet). Fact 4 – Adding a brace does not turn a pistol into an SBR. It turns it into a pistol with a brace. Subfact 4a The whole point of the brace is to make the pistol more stable and accurate. Fact 5 – Red Flag Laws – If people present a danger to themselves or others they need to be locked up in a mental health facility. Taking away their guns does nothing to prevent their ability to inflict death and pain on people. The standard for one should be exactly the same as the other. Fact 6 – Community Violence Prevention Programs are notoriously ineffective and corrupt. Fact 7 – David Chipman is a proven liar and embellisher. He shouldn’t even be a LEO much less in charge of an agency. David Chipman is not in favor of “common Sense gun laws”. CNN called him a “Fierce advocate of gun control laws” . David Chipman is an advisor and employed by several gun control groups. David Chipman wants to target new gun owners who are concerned for their safety in a world where rioters tun free. To quote: “My biggest concern involves… Read more »

Don’t give them ideas, 5JC. You might wake them out of their collective coma.

Mason

Stop it. It’s obvious you’re a racist fascist.

/s

I’d hope the tag wasn’t necessary, but we are in the year 2021…

Slow Joe

Well, I guess I will have to retract all the shit I talked about 5JC being a communist sympathizer.

Commie-Tsar

But I luvz me some good old fashioned Communism!

Roh-Dog

We do not have a ‘gun violence problem’, we have a ‘violence in cities with a high poverty rate problem’.
Ipso facto, it ain’t a ‘we’ problem at all (I’m looking at you, large government and your servile-class). If you strip out the crime rate stats from these urban wastelands, the US of A is one of the safest nations on Earth.
But that is an inconvenient truth, right KamaJoe?

5JC

It’s not just cities. It’s everywhere that drugs and poverty rule, including way out in the rural trailer park in methland.

I can say conclusively after eight years as a LEO that I have yet to see or hear of any shooting case, fatal or otherwise, that didn’t involve drugs or mental illness (often both) in some way. If it ever happens it is as rare as a Bahama Nuthatch.

Roh-Dog

Totally agree about the meth and mental illness. At least out in the sticks collateral damage is less likely.
Cops have their hands full in my capitol city. A 3 year old… my heart breaks over crap like this.

Mason

Yup. The violence will find a way. Look at London. Getting so bad over there you have to be an adult to buy a child’s knife and fork set.

Andy

Would be curious to see the data on all of the violance compared to Demoncratic run cities. I am willng to bet that everywhere the dems rule that is where the violance is most prevelant.

Docduracoat

Andy,
It is easy to do search for “murder map USA”
You will find that in 2017, 54% of u s counties had no murders at all.
The map overlays perfectly with counties that voted Democrat for President.
Both coasts and a few cities in the center like Chicago, Detroit and New Orleans have the great majority of murders.
This map is not broken down by gun murders, but it shows that most of the US has no murder problem at all.

FuzeVT

I had a Ghost Gun in the 80s.

OWB

I don’t believe in ghosts.

11B-Mailclerk

What about Space Ghost? He had a cool talk show…

KoB

It ain’t about control of gunz. It is about control of We, The Peoplez. They will not stop until the reach their goal.

Fyrfighter

“They will not stop until the reach their goal.”… Or until they’re stopped permanently…

Graybeard

Yep

Commissar Pooper's Narcissism

Shifarts are ghost guns. One whiff of that stuff might turn you into a ghost. I came close. I removed my COVID masks right after I shifarted. That godawful smell knocked me unconscious. Who needs ghost guns when you have shifart problems. I could knock a few criminals unconscious without touching them.

Doc Savage

Facts??

We ‘don need no stink’n facts!

Sparks

From the White House bla-bla-bla…

“The American Jobs Plan proposes a $5 billion investment over eight years to support community violence intervention programs. A key part of community violence intervention strategies is to help connect individuals to job training and job opportunities.”

Because that’s why blacks and browns are killing each other in record numbers. They just didn’t have a job. If we only offered them training and a job, they would get off welfare, stop selling and doing drugs, marry their baby mommas and the world will be alright.

Really? That’s all it takes? $5 Billion.

And if that were the case, I’d be shitting money instead of watching our budget.

The absurdity of thinking that you offer a criminal a job that will turn their life around has been proven time and again to be a nonstarter. The criminals doing most of the killing have been on the government tit for generations. They don’t do well in school, but for the rare exceptions, because they don’t have to. They are babysat and socially promoted until they become their neighborhood’s police problem. I guarantee you could offer a living wage job to these criminals, they would laugh in your face, while they were robbing you.

MustangCryppie

The dems waned to do the same with ISIS.

Berliner

Waiting for media to ask Hunter Biden how easy it is to get a gun by lying on the ATF Form 4473, Firearms Transaction Record form.

The Other Whitey

And how there are apparently zero consequences for it, at least for him…

Mason

You can’t prove criminal intent to lie. He was high as fuck on cocaine when he signed that form!

The Other Whitey

My new home state has declared itself a 2A sanctuary. Let’s see PedoJoe and Chipman (of “victory pose atop the ashes of incinerated children” fame) enforce this bullshit.

Sparks

As have all the counties (the majority) in my state.

The Other Whitey

Unfortunately, I’m thinking things will get a lot worse before they get better. The good news is that I’m now in a much better position to ensure the safety of my wife and kids than I ever was in California.

Anonymous

Facts– those are “racist” for progressives, comrade!

The Other Whitey

Unless they’re Larsfacts, you know, the bullshit he pulls out of his ass and calls “empirical.”

I call HORSESHIT on that, I used to work in a place that employed a number of ex-Cons and every one of them said that if they wanted a gun they could buy one in a back alley in no time, forget the gun laws.

IMHO liberal politicians want to turn EVERY part of the USA into the poverty and crime-infested shitholes like the inner cities that they currently lord over and have done so for decades!

5JC

Most criminals I know simply steal guns. They are one of the easiest things in the US to steal to be honest, with little chance of being caught. It doesn’t require much work or effort either as the victims are so cooperative.

Mason

Criminals are lazy. If it requires even the most minimal effort, they don’t do it. No way are they buying and assembling kits.

I’ll give you that a handful may pay some unlicensed dealer to do the work, but even that’s paying over dealer price for a gun they could just as easily steal from someone/someplace else.

5JC

Criminals yes, but don’t underestimate crazy or terrorists. Several of the last mass shooters used ghost guns. A tiny number to be sure but they are out there.

26Limabeans

Any junior high school kid could make a gun
in shop class. Doesn’t have to be a firearm either.
A short piece of half inch electrical conduit, a finish
nail, piece of paper and scotch tape.
Some assembly required.

David

Half inch conduit will get you instant disassembly, too.

30 minutes… I know people who have bought 80% lowers. One managed to finish error-free. The others ruined their first attempts and bought replacements. Ir’s like making your own full-auto sear… easy in theory, a bit harder in practice.

26Limabeans

Cut the paper into a playing card size rectangle.
Place the nail in one corner and roll into a cone,
taping the end. You now have a dart.
Insert the dart into the conduit and trim to fit.
You now have a blowgun.

Forest Bondurant

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t believe components of firearms have been designated as a firearm in of itself (e.g., upper receiver is an upper receiver, not a gun; bolt components are just that, not a gun, and so on…)

A firearm is only considered one when all the components are put together, and made fully functional, right?

I have a hard time believing POTUS action will pass legal scrutiny, even if the BATFE attempt to reclassify components as “firearms”, or even ammunition.

David

The serial numbered pars are the gun. So an AR lower IS the rifle, the grip frame IS the 1911. They had to draw a line and making one registerable part is how they did it.

5JC

With a Sig 320 the “firearm” is actually the internals. This allows you to change everything: Barrel, grip frame, slide in to about 500 different configurations. It is very well designed.

ChipNASA

GODDAMN IT!!!!
Now I have to think about maybe buying one, it shold be in FDE because the off er it in that and I don’t have one like htat yet, AND then I have to FIND one and then maybe, if my credit card hasn’t been raped enough of late, then, THEN if I actually acquire one, I have to fine someone here that maybe lives in the Mid-Atlantic area and maybe occasionally transits the Chesapeake Bay (the legit Atlantic ocean is a bit far for this exercise) AND would be kind enough to offer me a nice ride out on the water and OOPS!!!!, I’m man, I was showing off my firearm to the Captain and I *dropped* it overboard.
SO, the LOGISTICS here are a BITCH, so THANKS for getting me so wound up!!!!
Yeah I have looked at the P320 but I shot the P220 and I ended up going with a CZ 97BD cause I really like the decocker as an option and I just couldn’t spring for the $1,000+ price tag for the P220 at the Ft Meade BX just yet.)

SidneyBroadshead

It sounds like if they’re serious about banning “ghost guns”, they’d have to…
1) Give the Justice Department a ton of money so the FBI and ATF can effectively enforce the laws that were passed. They’d have to strip the money out of the “butter” side of their “guns and butter” social policy.
2) Complicate the manufacture and sale of firearms to the point that the ATF would be drowning in paperwork. Every large part would require a different form and have to have a serial number. It would destroy the domestic firearms industry, so they’d probably have no problems with paying for the uphire it would require.
3) Tighten controls on 3D Printers so that individuals couldn’t legally own the printers or buy the fabrication polymers and alloys they use. The permits and licensure required to own and operate them would put their use out of any but the largest of companies.
4) Create a criminal penalty track that punishes criminal offenders with required minimum penalties for violating these new laws. (i.e., even if there is a plea bargain that takes a firearms charge off the table, they still have to do a mandatory minimum sentence for violating a federal law.) This would contradict their justice reform platform. There would also have to be additional funding for federal prisons to house the flood of felons and criminals convicted of violating these new federal laws.
