Johnson & Johnson Covid Vaccine “Paused”

| April 13, 2021

Federal health agencies called for an immediate pause in the use of Johnson & Johnson one-shot vaccine on Tuesday morning after six women, who received the vaccine, developed a rare blood clot disorder within two weeks of vaccination. This follows several patients at a mass vaccination site in North Carolina who suffered immediate reactions to the Johnson & Johnson shot. A day earlier, 11 people had adverse reactions in Denver, ranging from dizziness to nausea.

“At this point we have no reason to believe there’s anything wrong with the vaccine itself,” said Dr. Shauna Gulley, a Centura Health chief clinical officer. “This is a temporary pause of one brand of vaccine so that we can investigate further.”

The six vaccine recipients affected were between the ages of 18 and 48. One woman died and a second woman has been hospitalized in critical condition.

Just a pause, Citizen. Move along and wear your masks.

US calls for pause on Johnson & Johnson vaccinations over blood clot concerns

Six people have developed a rare blood clot disorder after the vaccination.

By Jon Haworth

The FDA and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced Tuesday that they are calling for an immediate pause on the use of the single-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine after discovering six cases in the United States of a rare and severe type of blood clot that developed about two weeks after the vaccine was administered in these patients.

“Safety is a top priority for the federal government,” acting FDA Commissioner Dr. Janet Woodcock told reporters in a virtual news briefing, adding that while the blood clots were “extremely rare” the government was acting “out of an abundance of caution.”

“We are committed to patient safety,” Woodcock said, but encouraged Americans to continue to get vaccinated with the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines.

“[The] CDC will convene a meeting of the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) on Wednesday to further review these cases and assess their potential significance,” read a joint CDC and FDA statement that was issued earlier on Tuesday morning. “[The] FDA will review that analysis as it also investigates these cases. Until that process is complete, we are recommending a pause in the use of this vaccine out of an abundance of caution. This is important, in part, to ensure that the health care provider community is aware of the potential for these adverse events and can plan for proper recognition and management due to the unique treatment required with this type of blood clot.”

More than 6.8 million doses of the vaccine have already been administered in the United States.

A minuscule fraction of the total to be sure, unless you or a loved one “wins” this particular lottery. Read the entire article here: ABC News

Exactly which rare blood clot disorder are we talking about?
Because DVT in the legs, causing a pulmonary embolism‘s are common.
So is this something else?

Cerebral venous sinus thrombosis

“Just a pause, Citizen. Move along and wear your masks.”

Oh, and still refrain from indoor dining at restaurants.

Only brainwashed idiots would refuse the shots. I think that’s what I read here a few days ago.

I still feel like crap from my second Moderna shot 31 MAR.
Much better but but still……

Yesterday my neighbor told me he just got the J&J and so
far just a sore arm. He is 78 yo with recent open
heart surgery, pig valve and recent seizure.

Viet of the Nam survivers probably have
a special kind of protection not yet evidenced by the CDC.
Someday they will discover the connection.

Claw

“special kind of protection”

Heh, it comes from that Black Death, oops, Bubonic Plague shot we all got 50 years ago./s

26Limabeans

Seems to me we got a shot every couple a months for something.
Maybe it was Cholera but those fucking pills…who knows?

“fucking pills” = Little white ones and Monday’s Big Orange Bomber.

I had the Plague shots at Fort Drum 1&2 good times.

This is from Robert Kennedy, Jr’s children’s health organization, one that is far from conservative:

“Researchers WARN: mRNA injections may permanently alter human DNA”

https://childrenshealthdefense.org/defender/science-mrna-vaccines-alter-dna/

As I questioned the other day, what could we be facing in a few years if these RNA-based vaccines have some long-term genetic effects? I raised the Thalidomide tragedy of the ’60’s as an example.

Seems to me something similar was the premise of the movie “I Am Legend”.. Just saying

Six out of 6.8 million, less than a million to one shot.

So far…

LC

The UK is tracking potential clotting cases with the AstraZenica vaccine, something like 30 or so cases out of 18M doses, I believe?

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2021/apr/13/astrazeneca-blood-clotting-what-is-this-rare-syndrome-and-how-is-it-caused

It remains a small number -lower, I think, than your chance of dying from a bee sting or getting struck by lightning?- and there aren’t answers why yet.

Poetrooper

LC, your standards for extensive safety testing before widespread usage seem to have relaxed a good bit since our hydroxyquinoline discussions…

LC

Uh, no, not at all.

HCQ – very mixed data on the efficacy, resulting in an effectively zero confirmed positive effect, and some small potential for negative effect

J&J vaccine – Roughly 70% effective at preventing symptomatic COVID, and roughly 100% effective at preventing severe cases leading to hospitalization or death,.. and some small potential for negative effect.

Do you see the difference there? This isn’t hard.

LC, quit patting yourself on the back. At this point neither you, nor anyone else, has any clue as to the longer term effects of what these mRNA vaccines may have on the genome structures of the millions of bodies they’re being injected into.

It’s a medical crapshoot but one you’re willing to endorse because it falls within the parameters of your political beliefs and is being promoted by those you deem acceptable.

Hydroxychloroquine has a 70-80 year worldwide record of safe use on hundreds of millions of patients but you insisted its safety was unproven and required further clinical trials.

Why? Because Donald Trump and conservative Americans endorsed its use, which just didn’t fit into your political narrative.

Shame on you for letting your political leanings so blatantly, so obviously, color your thinking on critical matters of health and survival.

An unprovable wager: I’d bet you whatever amount that were Trump now president and pushing this vaccination program, you’d be dead-set against it because not enough research had been done to prove both its safety and efficacy.

You can deny it, but everyone reading here knows that is precisely what you’d be doing, you hypocrite.

LC, quit patting yourself on the back. At this point neither you, nor anyone else, has any clue as to the longer term effects of what these mRNA vaccines may have on the genome structures of the millions of bodies they’re being injected into. mRNA vaccines don’t modify DNA. So, yeah, we’ve got a pretty good fuckin’ idea what long term effect they’ll have on the genome – none. https://www.gavi.org/vaccineswork/will-mrna-vaccine-alter-my-dna Now, if you meant to say we don’t know what long-term effects there may be, that’s true. We don’t know. We have zero evidence of any expected long term effects, but since we can’t time-travel to the future, we don’t know. Things like micro plastics are being connected to infertility and we didn’t anticipate that, so sure, it’s possible. That said, we also have no idea what long term effects there might be from, say, driving an electric vehicle, or even reading this blog,… but since we have no expectation or indication of long term effects from such things, there’s no reason for real concern. Hydroxychloroquine has a 70-80 year worldwide record of safe use on hundreds of millions of patients but you insisted its safety was unproven and required further clinical trials. Yes, because there was no correlated positive effect, and some small risks, depending on dosage. If the J&J vaccine offered zero positive effects, and some risk of clotting, I’d be equally damn skeptical of it. Do you truly not understand how it’s about weighing the positive vs. the negative, vs just considering the safety factor? Also, remind me again, when Trump got COVID, did he take HCQ? In case you’re forgetting, the answer is: no, he did not. An unprovable wager: I’d bet you whatever amount that were Trump now president and pushing this vaccination program, you’d be dead-set against it because not enough research had been done to prove both its safety and efficacy. Nope, I tend to go where the science goes. And maybe you don’t recall, but I was very happy with Trump’s endorsement of Operation Warp Speed. It’s a critical tool / philosophy… Read more »

Ed – says “6.8 million doses of the vaccine” – since CDC says over 56 million vaccinated to date, I’m sticking with that roughly million to one number.

LC – lightning strikes I believe are 16 million to one. (megamillions I read is over 250 million to one!)

LC

It’s a bit of an apples-to-oranges comparison to be sure, since a COVID shot is not a yearly risk factor, at least for the moment, but CDC says lightning strikes are 1 in 500K per year:

https://www.cdc.gov/disasters/lightning/faq.html#nine

There’s also a difference between strikes and lethal strikes – apparently some people survive, as we average ‘only’ 35 deaths a year from lightning between 2003-2012, per that same site.

All in all, I’d say that’s still in the same ballpark, if not more likely, than the clotting we’re seeing so far.

Here’s more on the long-term safety of these vaccines:

“In theory, mRNA vaccines offer extraordinary advantages over traditional vaccines. They’re safer to manufacture and a lot faster to make. They’re clean (i.e. they will not contain latent viruses found in the animals used to grow traditional vaccines) and typically require no adjuvants or other toxic additives in order to work as intended. Furthermore, they can direct the body to manufacture almost any protein imaginable. That’s how it works in theory, of course.

“But they also present enormous risks, and if the deployment of mRNA vaccines is rushed, the results could be catastrophic. Additionally, mRNA vaccines can be maliciously deployed to deliberately trick the human body into attacking its own critical functions such as fertility, neurological function, cell repair and other critical processes.”

Considering its historical record, it is wise to be wary of ANYTHING our government rushes into…

So did we the Thalidomide baby’s, just a little test.

I had the J&J coupla weeks ago. Was a little tired and out of sorts the next day. Oh…and it caused one of my devil horns to grow a bit, knocking my halo all askew. Other than that…IT’S TRUMP’S FAULT!!!!

OH, NO!!! TEH VACCINE IS BAD!!! TEH COVID ID THE PLAGUE!!! PUT YOUR FACE DIAPERS ON AND HID IN YOUR BASEMENT UNTIL THE CURVE IS FLATTENED!!

FLATTEN THE CURVE!!!! EXCEPT FOR THE BOOMERS!!!!

Those of us well beyond reproductive years are probably less concerned about that aspect of the questions than are others, at least for ourselves. And those of us who were previously experimented upon by the military perhaps even less concerned. (Or maybe more concerned.)

Bottom line is simple: We can and should each do our own risk assessment and act accordingly. I refuse to try to determine what any of you should do. Take it or don’t take it. Your decision to make.

Meanwhile, if a random selection of 6-7 million of us is made, how many would we expect to develop this mysterious clotting on any given day? Is that condition even routinely identified for most people who die from it?

Kinda like coronavirus, amirite? Wear your mask if you’re not vaxxed.
