Homeowner forced to shoot would-be ATV thief when he tries to enter home

by Chad D. Baus
A homeowner who had already scared off a would-be thief who had attempted to steal his ATV was forced to defend himself with a firearm when the man returned and attempted to enter his home.

According to the article, the homeowner retrieved a firearm and gave several warnings to the man. The homeowner told the man that the sheriff’s office was on its way, and shot the man when he approached him.

First responders transported the home invader and would-be thief to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Police said he would be charged upon release from the hospital.

1 shot, 3 on the run after stealing pricey cars from driveway of Miami Beach home

MIAMI BEACH, Fla. – Three people are still on the run after jumping a front gate of a home in Miami Beach and stealing luxury cars.

According to officers, it all started around 10:30 p.m. Saturday when four men got into the driveway the gated home on Pine Tree Drive near 44th Street.

Once on the other side, each of the men got into a car belonging to the homeowner.

The high-end cars included a Range Rover, Rolls Royce, Porsche, and a Lamborghini.

A security guard that worked for the homeowner noticed what was happening and opened fire, striking a subject who was inside a Range Rover.

Been carrying an Airweight .38 for about 30 years. Fits in a pocket, perfectly. Only five rounds, make them close and personal.

I like knives as well as guns for lead-off photo. The machete was a refreshing departure.

While the Airweight sounds light, it does not sound small. Like the author I think I would stick with a 9mm semi-auto like a Sig Sauer P365 (w/12rd magazines) or maybe a Kimber Micro (though it has less rounds). Small and powerful. Still looking for a good small revolver (and light).

Wonder if the guys were Repo Men in the Miami, FL case. For the other one, look if he told you to leave it alone he meant leave it alone.

Think if I owned the revolver pictured I would be doing some timing work on it. The bolt (cylinder latch in the lower frame) has seriously scarred that cylinder for such a new gun.

BZ to folks fighting back! As always, if need be, headbutt the hangman.

Just ’cause it says airweight, don’t mean it will float like a butterfly…but it will sting like a bee. If I only had some SCUBA Gear…
