Least Effective Congress Members

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.)

Surprised? I was. Not that she’s ineffective, but that even academia recognizes AOC as “All hat and no cattle.” Poetrooper sends.

Study declares AOC one of the least effective members of Congress

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s bills received no action in committees and no floor votes

By Jon Levine

She’s the queen of Twitter — but less successful at lawmaking.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., was among the least effective members of the last Congress, according to a new survey from the nonpartisan Center for Effective Lawmaking — a joint project of Vanderbilt University and the University of Virginia.

Ocasio-Cortez introduced a total of 21 bills that the center defined as “substantive” — but that is where the story ends. Her legislation received no action in committees, no floor votes, and none ever became law, according to the center, which takes its data from Congress.gov.

“She introduced a lot of bills, but she was not successful at having them receive any sort of action in committee or beyond committee and if they can’t get through committee they cannot pass the House,” Alan Wiseman, a Vanderbilt political scientist and co-director of the center, told The Post.

“It’s clear that she was trying to get her legislative agenda moving and engage with the lawmaking process,” Wiseman added. “But she wasn’t as successful as some other members were — even among [other] freshmen — at getting people to pay attention to her legislation.”

When looking at the legislative effectiveness of all congressional Democrats, AOC was ranked 230th out of 240 Democrats. Among the 19 Democratic lawmakers from New York, she ranked last.

Among the bills that died at birth were a federal overhaul of public housing, a ban on fracking and a mandate to provide full federal public benefits to illegal immigrants.

Democratic House insiders said many of Ocasio-Cortez’s colleagues found her approach alienating.

She hasn’t done herself any favors, bucking the system that belongs to Nancy Pelosi. Tellingly, the rest of “The Squad” fared little better. Simple really- adults understand consensus. aoc doesn’t want people to use the word surge because it was taken from the word insurgency.
Off Topic: Now the DC Metro PD Capt. says that the killing of the LEO in DC the other day was not a Terrorist attack. I think he was told to say that by the higher suits. The guy had some life with college and other things but got hooked up with islams fairykann.

Good thing I’ve got that insurgency protector to plug my computer into. Sometimes the electricity is fighting to get out of the oppressive confines of the wall.

NHSparky

Nah, that’s just the mice you’re hearing.

KoB

But the burning question we all have is…Would IDC SARC still hit that?

The other question is who is stupider, her or the people that keep electing her?

Saw this earlier. Jumped from coupla hundred comments to over 3K…right quickly.

My question for her is:

Can I get a Jack Daniels neat and does the burger
plate come with home fries or are they a seperate order?

timactual

And what you get will be rail bourbon in a (possibly) clean glass on a doily with the diet plate(hamburger patty w. cottage cheese, garnished with the house lettuce). It’s the special so you get real “silverware” instead of plastic.

IOW, No.

Ex-PH2

Aw, shucks, cain’t get her kite off the ground, huh?

Too bad. So sad. Dumber than a box of cracked marbles.

Moving on.

Poetrooper

AOC is purely a creation of the media. Even her own Democrat colleagues realize she’s of little substance and would long ago have faded into political oblivion had the media not made her their darling.

Martinjmpr

AOC’s biggest asset is that she’s easy on the eyes (and you don’t have to agree with her politics to acknowledge that.)

Nobody wants to admit that looks matter but in our media and image-obsessed society. there is a huge benefit to being good looking, particularly for women.

That strikes at the left’s progressive narrative about everybody being equal but it’s a reality even if they don’t want to admit it. The reality is that if AOC looked like Janet Reno, she’d get a lot less air time.

For proof of this you only need to see how much publicity AOC gets compared to the, ahem, plainer looking members of “The Squad.”

Poetrooper

You are absolutely right–she’s a hottie as this video attests:

https://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=AOC+dancing+on+the+roof+video&&view=detail&mid=408ABA233195975C6D43408ABA233195975C6D43&rvsmid=633D41BD823A227D0478633D41BD823A227D0478&FORM=VDQVAP

She’s small, well-built, with big boobs and undeniably sexy.

She’s also dumb as a stump…

Berliner

With a lot of timber industry here in Washington State, I feel that comparison of AOC is an insult to stumps. :>

timactual

I will be more than happy to deny it.

And I am a certified dirty old man.

Slow Joe

I don’t find AOC attractive at all. She seems horse-faced to me, meaning she has a long face, a possible side effect of taking the pill for too long.

As a matter of fact, I wouldn’t touch her with a 10 foot pole, even though I don’t really know if there are Poles that tall.

NHSparky

I’m a tad under 6′.

timactual

Actually, I have been praying for years that all of our ‘pubic servants’ are that effective. The fewer bills passed, the better.

Graybeard

Of course AOC is all hat, no cattle.

Cattle fart, and that’s bad for the environment. /s

Looking at her photo (above) – she’s not smiling so I guess her vibrator’s batteries died.

Poetrooper

Now that AOC’s ineffectiveness has been made so widely public, her situation is likely to get worse as none of those crass opportunists in her party will be inclined to link themselves with a loser by co-sponsoring any of her proposed bills or by voting for them in committee.

She is now mired in the bottom level of the congressional pecking order.

It couldn’t happen to a more deserving chick…😆😆😆

Poetrooper

AOC’s becoming such a pariah her fellow Dems don’t even want her campaign contributions:

https://townhall.com/tipsheet/rebeccadowns/2021/04/03/fellow-dems-to-return-campaign-contributions-from-aoc-n2587364

To put that in perspective, remember that those folks are members of a party that greedily welcomes illegal campaign contributions from foreign governments.

Yet they don’t want her money…

AW1 Rod

Ineffective? The babbling bartender is dumber than a bag of hammers, and considerably less useful.

5JC

If I were to pick a member of Congress that never, ever gets a bill passed she is a top 5 pick. Picking #1 is tough but she is in the running.

Green Thumb

Don’t forget my favorite, Maxine Waters.

She can hold her own in that crowd.

Slow Joe

She has an squeaky little girl voice that makes me suspect she was a victim of sexual assault during her infancy.

“The Little Girl Voice is an informal name for a vocal trait in adult women that is caused by psychological trauma before the onset of puberty. Women that are affected speak in a higher sounding, child-like pattern, usually in a manner similar to the age at which they suffered the traumatic event.

Dr. Drew Pinsky frequently uses this as a cue when talking to female callers, in order to better understand the cause of their problems. He is so practiced at noticing it that he can often guess down to a 6 month period in the woman’s life when she was traumatized, and sometimes even what the trauma was, much to everyone’s amazement. Sometimes callers lie or obfuscate about having a trauma history at first, claiming their childhood was completely normal, only to reveal something horrific later in the conversation that precisely fits with Drew’s initial deduction.

Dr. Drew discovered this phenomenon after practicing medicine for many years and noticing a very distinct pattern with his patients, whom he often converses with personally during the treatment process. He noticed all the female patients who talked a certain way had a trauma history (usually sexual abuse) that they would reveal during the session. At the time Loveline was on the air, Dr. Drew was not aware of any formal scientific study of this phenomenon, though its reality is undeniable in the face of call after call that the doctor correctly deduces, sometimes with them only saying a single word. Drew surmises that the incident of trauma “freezes” some portion of the brain’s development, resulting in the speech pattern remaining the same into adulthood. He also notes that women who undergo long and intensive treatment usually lose this pattern and speak normally.”

The Other Whitey

It would certainly explain a lot about her.

Poetrooper

And that broad who tried to sandbag Justice Kavanaugh…

MSG Eric

Juxtapose that to Dan Crenshaw who in an equal timeline has sponsored or co-sponsored almost 400 bills. He spends plenty of time on twitter as well, but apparently still takes time to do the job he’s getting paid for:

timactual

“…has sponsored or co-sponsored almost 400 bills.”

You make that sound like a good thing.

The US has been around for more than 200 years. The idea was that most of the work is supposed to be done by the states & lower. The fed. gov’t. doesn’t need that much fine tuning.

NHSparky

Here’s hoping NY redistricting eliminates her district come 2022.

Old tanker

Definition of a dead end job from hell. being a Congressional staffer for AOC.

Just An Old Dog

AOC has the eyes of a crazy stripper that’s about to key her ex-boyfriends car.
