Stolen valor charge in Leominster, MA

| March 12, 2021

While we await the backlog of records requests from NPRC so Military Phonies can get back to giving us our favorite entertainment around these parts, we have to stick to news reports. This one comes in from Massachusetts. This here fella has earned a stolen valor charge by changing his discharge paperwork from a bad conduct discharge resulting from a court martial so he could score some of that sweet, sweet unsecured mortgage loan from the VA.

The Sentinel and Enterprise reports;

LEOMINSTER — A city man was summonsed to court on Monday on charges related to him allegedly forging military documents in an attempt to obtain a Veterans Administration home loan, according to police and court documents.

Police said that on July 29 an agent with the Department of Veterans Affairs met with a department officer about Anthony C. McCauliff, 32, of Franklin Street, allegedly forging his office military separation documents in attempt to secure a home loan, the reporting officer said.

The agent told the officer that McCauliff was originally separated from military service on April 2, 2009, however, he went online and changed the separate date to Nov. 27, 2016, which would have made him eligible for the loan.

On one of the separation documents when describing “character of service,” McCauliff altered it from “bad conduct” to “honorable” and he altered another one of the documents as to the reason of his military separation from “court martial” to “completion of required active service,” the officer reported.

While the officer made contact with McCauliff in an attempt to speak to him about the circumstances, she wasn’t able to have him come to the station for an interview and as a result filed charges of forgery of document, utter false writing, and stolen valor by fraudulently representing himself as a military service member or veteran, according to court documents.

McCauliff was not formally charged Monday after asking for a continuance until March 8, according to court documents.

This doesn’t appear to be McCauliff’s first run-in with the law. He took off running from the cops last fall because he had “several active warrants related to probation violations” the police reported at the time.

Leominster. Party town for Ft. Devens back in the 70’s.
The Wagon Wheel on Rte. 2.
No wonder Devens became a Federal Prison.

Been there, done that. Hit practically every watering hole on Rte. 2 between Ayer and Fitchburg.

Well now, would you just looky heah. Comes forth another lying, embellishing, valor thief in the form of the POS Anthony C. McCauliff. Been a loooooong time since we’ve had a Trifecta of lying, embellishing, Valor Thieving POSes in one week. The previous run in with the popo was hiding behind a “sign up to continue reading” so I couldn’t get all of those details. How do you go “online” to change the status of Official Forms? And is the VA Loan Dprt doing a better job of vetting people than other departments.

Also been a loooooong time since we had a trifecta of deployments of the TAH HoI. I will defer to a higher power on the determination of eligibility of Anthony C. McCauliff for said deployment, but herewith do make a motion for same. Can I get a SECOND and an AYE?

Back in the early seventies Massachusetts Driver License was a
pale yellow wallet size card thinner than a business card.
The details were typed in using whatever typewriter they had.
The ink easily erased and changes typed right over what was there.
That was back when forgery was an honest man’s work.

Not a bit sure this jackwagon is worth the effort it takes to post the Hemisphere of Insults, Big Guy.

His stuff is really rather stupid, and he’s not very good at doing much of anything at all.

The worst thing about this is that the perp bears a name revered in the battle lore of the 101st Airborne Division:

That’s the first thing I said: Nuts!!

Martinjmpr

Am I the only one whose teeth are on edge at the word “summonsed?”

Would not the proper word be “summoned?”

How did spell check not catch that?

Poetrooper

It caught ol’ Poe’s attention, too, but it is, in fact, correct. To “summons” is not the same verb as to “summon”:

Welp, I learned some new legal terms from that link. And as a law clerk, I occasionally served people with a summons. Who knew I was “summonsing” them; I just thought they were “served.” Anyway, that is what I told them when handing them the docs. Had one guy run out to my car and push the papers through the window of my ’72 VW. He was apparently unaware that didn’t get him un-“summonsed.”

Poetrooper

Unsummonsed? A Ranger creates a neologism.

Amazingly it doesn’t involve the “F” word…😉
