Rockets Hit Iraqi Air Base

| February 22, 2021

And this just in: we may be withdrawing from Iraq, bit by bit, but there are still malcontents outside in the darkness who simply want to pick a fight.  Yep, those walloping warhogs over there in The Sand Pile are still taking potshots at people, including those at Iraqi bases.

From the article:  The attack comes days after over a dozen rockets targeted coalition forces outside Irbil international airport in the Kurdish-controlled region of northern Iraq. The attack killed one coalition contractor and wounded nine more. Iraqi and Kurdish residents were also severely injured.

A little-known Shiite militant group calling itself Saraya Awliya al-Dam, Arabic for Guardians of Blood Brigade, claimed responsibility for the attack. – article

Sad fact: no war is truly over until both sides say it is over. One side may have to be dead, but both sides must agree. Especially in modern times when combatants like to think they are big tough guys by attacking unarmed civilians.

I still like the idea of the Wheel of Misfortune, but no one else does.

Remember when rockets were fired at a US base in Iraq during the bad orange man times and we were treated to screaming headlines and breathless boradcasts from all the big media, i.e, CNNBCBSABCMSNBC, readers, for days? Good times, good times indeed.
