Pelosi says there’s an “enemy within” the House
This more incitement of violence than anything Trump ever did, but I expect no less from a woman who’s made a career out of petty name-calling and fear mongering. From the AP wire;
Lawmakers face threats of violence from an “enemy” within Congress, and more money is needed to protect them, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said Thursday, a startling acknowledgment of escalating internal tensions over safety since this month’s Capitol attack by supporters of former President Donald Trump.
The California Democrat’s remarks came as the acting chief of the Capitol Police said separately that “vast improvements” are needed to protect the Capitol and adjacent office buildings, including permanent fencing. Such barricades have ringed the complex since the deadly Jan. 6 riot, but many lawmakers have long resisted giving the nation’s symbol of democracy the look of a besieged compound, and leaders were noncommittal about the idea.
Pelosi focused her comments on the anxiety and partisan frictions that have persisted in Congress since Trump supporters’ assault on the Capitol, which led to five deaths. She told reporters she thinks Congress will need to provide money “for more security for members, when the enemy is within the House of Representatives, a threat that members are concerned about.”
Asked to clarify what she meant, Pelosi said, “It means that we have members of Congress who want to bring guns on the floor and have threatened violence on other members of Congress.”
She’s supposed to be leading the House, not dividing it. I guess she didn’t get President Biden’s memo about this being a time to…you know…the thing…like where you all…uh…stop the fussin’ and a feudin’…COME ON, Man!

Term Limits
Nearly ALL of the “DC Lifers” of both parties are living, breathing proof that we need Term Limits. My proposal for a Constitutional Amendment would be a twelve year limit on holding any Congressional Office. House Members would be limited to two six year terms, Senators to two six year terms, and if one goes from one Chamber to the other, their total time in both Chambers combined cannot exceed twelve years!
API, the Confederate Constitution had term limits built into it. Shows that even 160 years ago, many people were already fed up with career pols. I have preached for decades on the need for term limits and how the elected officials have a very bad case of Potomac Power Fever. Shoulda been a big wake up call when the bastards “Lionized” a murderous rapist.
A Constitutional Convention of the States sounds like a good idea on paper, but it could have unintended consequences and open up a big can of worms. Other states could use that as an opportunity to make changes that a lot of us would not like…and we may still NOT get the term limits we DO want.
I place most of the blame on our sorry ass Kongressinal Klown Kritters on the stoopid useful idiots that keep re-electing them. Sent a note to my Rep the other night asking why he (a Repub) has not been more vocal or forthcoming on trying to fix things or DO SOMETHING about the domestic enemies of our Country.
