Gabby Giffords and Hollywood- Gun Control

| January 26, 2021

Former Congresswoman Gabrielle “Gabby” Giffords (D- AZ).

“Never let a crisis go to waste.” Or in this case, a tragedy. Of all the options in the Dem playbook, dancing in the blood of innocents is a favorite. Anything for the agenda, no matter how vile. Using a mentally impaired victim of gun violence to further one’s aims should be shocking, but sadly isn’t.
Gabby’s unseen handlers have trotted her out once again, this time to try to enlist the aid of the Hollywood Elite to support limiting the Second Amendment Rights of fellow citizens.

Gabby Giffords: 2021 Goal Is to Push Gun Control via ‘Powerful Platforms’ in Hollywood

AWR Hawkins

Former Congresswoman Gabby Giffords told Variety magazine one of her goals for 2021 is to see Hollywood writers and producers use their media platforms to push gun control.

Variety reported: “One of Giffords’ priorities for 2021 is to forge relationships with writers, producers, celebrities and decision-makers in Hollywood who can leverage their powerful platforms to speak out against gun violence, call for commonsense laws and support local community efforts to raise awareness about gun safety.”

The magazine noted that Giffords “has started engaging with the entertainment community and hopes to devise more strategic ways to work together in the new year to help shift cultural attitudes and push policies that make for a gun-safe country.”

    “…common sense gun laws…”

Good idea! Maybe they could just model all gunz lawz on what Chiraq has? Seems to have worked real well there, Right?

You may need a heavy duty towel to wipe the dripping sarcasm off of your screens from my comment. Wasn’t sure if it was obvious.

Hollywood should tell us guns are bad… paging Liam Neeson:

      • President Elect Toxic Deplorable Racist SAH B Woodman Grammar Nazi says:

Which is why I don’t watch any Neeson or Stallone movies. Raging Gun Control hypocrites, both of ’em.

  2. Berliner says:

I may be wrong doesn’t a majority of Hollywood celebrities and influencers have access to armed security? They should walk a mile in our shoes, say in Chicago or LA late on a Friday or Saturday night with no cell phone signal and alone.

Call it “Change their mind” time.

    • Ex-PH2 says:

Make that the South Side of Chicago, in the dark, after 1AM, walking on the sidewalk, and I’ll agree with you.

      • QMC says:

I dunno. One of them tried that a year or so back and he was supposedly attacked by two violent white Nigerian, MAGA hat wearing, Trump supporters.

  3. Anonymous says:

She said “gun violence” is the fault of police, too. (Taadah, liberal stupidity reaches its zenith.)

    • rgr769 says:

Because if the police didn’t have guns, the criminals wouldn’t have them. We all know the drug cartels and other criminal gangs will surrender all their weapons when the LEO’s are unarmed, right?

    • SFC D says:

If someone had reported the lunatic that shot Gabby to the police when he made credible threats, we wouldn’t be having this conversation.

      • Ret_25X says:

yes we would. She was certifiably anti gun looooooong before that happened.

Remember, firearm confiscation is the goal.

        Why?

Disarmed peasants are easier to exploit.

  4. rgr769 says:

Well, Gropey Joe and his minions are putting forth a new gun control law that will put anyone in prison for ten years who refuses to surrender a center-fire semi-auto rifle or register it like it is a full-auto weapon, fill out a 13 page form under penalty of perjury, and pay the annual $200 tax for each such weapon.

    • ChipNASA says:

I hope this is a bit of an exxageration.
If I think about it, that’s just about every gun (rifle) out there except bolt action ones.
      What the actual fuck?
      Yeah, nope.
I’m buying a boat real quick. Or I’m going to start looking for a friend with a boat.

    • Ex-PH2 says:

No, it is not an exaggeration, Chip. It is a pending bill that overturns your 2nd amendment rights completely.

      • Anonymous says:

Yes, and any 10+ round magazine and anything that could accept it will be an NFA weapon requiring registration and paperwork out the ass (easier to confiscate ’em and/or jail owners later, you see).

      • MI Ranger says:

They also want to require you to get a license to buy ammunition, like Chicago and New York…probably some others like New Jersey too, and then they will raise the taxes on ammunition and firearms by 50%.

Kamala’s first 100days policy!…stuck underneath all this is changing the policy on Voting so its a Federal thing and anyone who questions the outcome is immediately sent to prison.

    • David says:

They would be wise to remember when they passed the so-called Brady Bill… the backlash from that lost them control of both the House and Senate in ’94. While Draconian laws like this are often proposed, they seldom make it out of committee. Now, that does not mean NOT to be prepared nor keep your powder dry…

    • ChipNASA says:

Well then, I guess I may be a criminal then. All the “bruthas in Bal’more” carry dracos and the range I used to shoot at has 4 and they sold to someone the week after we first walked in there and my son and I got to hold them.
OK, then no problem, and I can spend like the afternoon in jail and then bail out. Oh wait, it’s the “county” not the city. Well then it should be the same, maybe now it will be good to live in a Blue State after all, revolving doors and shit and all that.
I just need to learn how to game the system.
It’s not going to make a difference what color I am, the system will be overwhelmed anyway.
Ifin I does get arrested, my case probably won’t get heard for 10 or 20 years. I’ll probably get a free lunch on the system too.
      YAY!!
Now, where do I get that free Independence Card? I need to shoplift some sunscreen from the Dolla store. I need to tan up starting this Spring.
Oh and I think I”ll probleah start callin’ myself “ChipNI….NJA”

    • Forest Bondurant says:

What part of “…shall not be infringed” do they not understand?

Any legislation which prohibits the right of Americans to possess firearms and ammunition are, in my opinion, unlawful.

  5. Slow Joe says:

    The Left is so smart.

Criminal breaks the law and uses gunz.

The Left: “Let’s disarm all law abiding citizens “.

Their are not that stupid. They know exactly what they are doing. They want to take our gunz so we can be forced to obey them.

    • Anonymous says:

Criminals they can live with. The law abiding majority with guns they can’t.

    • Mason says:

It’s because the left likes simple, one-line solutions that make them feel better. Whether or not that actually does what it intends to do is irrelevant.

    • A Proud Infidel®™️ says:

Leftards: “If you need a 30 round magazine then you suck at hunting!”

Real People: “If you need a disarmed population then you suck at governing!”

  6. SgtM says:

There is that pic of ole Gabby smiling and holding an AR out there. Hypocrite much.

  7. Andy11M says:

Will her husband buy another evil black rifle?

    • USMC Steve says:

Sure he will, because no one will come to take his, and because he is a socialist hypocritical fuckwit.

  8. Ex-PH2 says:

    ‘Powerful Platforms’ in Hollywood.

Oh, let me see: Hollywood makes violent movies and TV shows that include the use of edged and ballistic weapons, because those rather bland shows and movies from the Days of Yore (before online stuff) are SOOOO outdated….

Is that dysphoric idea meant to confuse people or make violence appear to be acceptable even if guns aren’t?

    • MI Ranger says:

Sounds like another US institution (and cash cow) is going the way of the Dodo! Guess China’s new film industry and Bollywood can fill the void.

Sounds like we need to boycott Hollywood and support the smaller studios that actually produce movies without hidden messages and promote values that support the family and patriotism. Make the Woke broke and maybe they will crawl back under the rock that spawned them!

  9. Txnorsky says:

I’m pretty sure if John Wick was made with feather dusters instead of all those guns, it would have bombed.
Yea, Hollywierd isn’t going to make any money on those kinds of movies.

  10. KoB says:

I say again…They would not be wanting to take our gunz if they weren’t planning on doing things that would make us want to shoot them.

    Damn you, leaky boat…on a flooded lake…with a quicksand bottom…during a hurrinado! DAMN YOU!

  11. SFC D says:

That’s not Gabby Giffords. That’s what’s left after an unstable nutcase shot her. A preventable shooting that happened because no one at Pima Community College would involve the Tucson Police, Pima County sheriff’s office, or mental health services after the shooter repeatedly made credible threats. Now, the left wing gun control zealots prop up Gabby as a political prop to advance a cause she would never support before. Extra credit goes to her ghoul husband, Mark Kelly, who used her to get himself elected. Gabby was a great representative for my district, she put her constituents ahead of her party. May they all rot in hell for what they do to her.

    • 5JC says:

She wants writers, producers and celebrities on the gun control band wagon? Where has she been her entire life, living under a rock?

Giffords is the 21st Century version of Brady.

    • A Proud Infidel®™️ says:

Why not effectively enforce the currently existing laws instead of a clusterfuck of new ones? I’m sure it’s because D-rats and RINOs can’t resist doing anything that gives them more power and control!

      • 5JC says:

Honestly if they pass the new AW Tax it will likely unleash such a shitstorm response the congress may have to go in to hiding. This is a case of being careful what you wish for.

  12. USMC Steve says:

This is the sort of drivel that spews forth from someone with half a brain. Obviously not the useful half either. I am reminded of old dead Sarah Brady who used to trot out her husband, also a half brain, and use him for antigun tirades and dog and pony’s.

    • Ret_25X says:

Weird how they always blame the hardware, never the criminal.

But do you know why they do this?

The left believes that humans are born “good” and the only thing preventing their perfection or ascension to god hood is “society”. By which they mean Jews, which according to Marx means capitalists.

Therefore, the individual is not responsible for their maladaptive and violent behavior, the bourgeoisie (aka Jews) are responsible for making the person behave this way with their vile profits.

You have to read the Gulag Archipelago to really understand what the fevered “red” mind is thinking, but it is horrific.

      Right Commissar Dumbkopf?

      • USMC Steve says:

It is more basic and simpler than that. It is not in a liberal’s mindset to acknowledge that they could do something bad or screw up. As such, it is anyone and anything else’s fault when they do.

  13. Green Thumb says:

Stallone has more kills than the entire 25th ID through out history.

    Go figure?

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/world-us-canada-21307526

    • President Elect Toxic Deplorable Racist SAH B Woodman Grammar Nazi says:

I stopped watching anything Stallone made after Phil Hartman was shot & killed by his (Phil H’s) krazy off-her-meds ex-wife.

    • 5JC says:

Yeah well Stallone also made a six part movie series based upon every lie ever told about the Vietnam War so there is that.

  14. Koekepan says:

    How about not playing defense?

If the problem is big yawn, I mean Big Media, based in Yawnywood, CA, then the answer is just about everywhere else. Same deal in written media. Don’t like the mainstream? send your money elsewhere, like Larry Correia.

What if someone were to create a kickstarter or gofundme or indiegogo for a different take on things? You can’t tell me it wouldn’t sell a stack of DVDs, and there are some very talented indie producers and videographers out there.

What if the SAF (I’ve given up on the NRA) were to pass the word that there were a cool movie being made that actually doesn’t push a narrative that would be super-convenient for everyone from the DNC to Beijing? I bet they could get funding to make it look really good.

  15. David says:

Simple solution. Steal the movies. Any idiot can copy a DVD. Or so I hear. No sales, no revenues. A movie that has $1000 in sales and is stolen a million times is a flop.

  16. E-4 Mafia 4 Life says:

I cannot find the source but I recall reading an article years ago that Hollywood owns the largest amount of NFA firearms.
because CA excluded the entertainment industry from prohibition.
Used to be the Stenbridge Arsenal that rented out NFA, regular and prop firearms to Hollyweird but I think they dissolved.
Us surfs, subjects and vassals in The People’s Reppublik of Kalifornistan cannot legally purchase/own/posses any NFA firearms, “destructive devices” or suppressors.
All anti-gun actors/actresses should be listed as a “Prohibitted Person” – just like a felon – and not allowed to even handle a movie prop.
Hollywood can eat a diseased Man Sausage™

    • 5JC says:

Movie studios don’t own many guns. They have outside experts rent them weapons for productions generally.

There are a number of stars who are already prohibited like Russell Crowe, Mark Whalburg and Mel Gibson to name a few.
