Boomer’s Sunday

| January 3, 2021

It’s time once again, Delta Whiskies and Whiskettes, for Boomer’s Sunday, where I cull through his weekly offering of ‘toons, and pick the best. Honorable Mention goes to my pals Chuck, Gerhart, Woke Infidel, AW1 Scott, AW1 Rod, and our own President Elect Toxic Deplorable Racist SAH B Woodman, Cameron, Skippy, HMCS(FMF) ret, Poetrooper, Mason, Jeff LPH 3 63-66, thebesig, Keepin’ It Real, and Ex, who also have provided some entertainment. These are mostly from the right, with humor scattered around. I am more than willing to post up differing points of view if they don’t annoy me. Now what could be fairer than that? So here we are, with the ‘toons that may amuse, make you think, or just piss you off.

Thank you for starting my morning on a good note.

LIRight47

Read every one of these…the only problem is…laughing hard so early in the morning.

Three of the best – Liberty Arms, the kangaroo, and Star Trek.

Good stuff, thanks for posting!

I like the one about 9PM being the new midnight. It lets my wife and I know we are not the only ones….

LIRight47

LOL…I can definitely relate to your comment!!

Cameron

That woman dressed as a sailor pinup reminds me of a female model who appears in the game The Man of Medan as a hallucination on board an abandoned Liberty Ship (she first shows up on a poster and later appears near a hatchway, standing next to the bulkhead) that you eventually have to run from as she ages rapidly. This chase soon leads you to the outside at the top of the ship’s smokestack, which if you jump from it, the character you’re controlling will end up dying (if you don’t jump and choose to confront, it turns out to be a hallucination and that the pinup was actually one of the characters who’s a young woman from Tahiti in French Polynesia).

The hallucination is thanks to a very potent gas that leaked throughout the ship back in 1947 when it left Manchuria bound for San Francisco. As it was sailing, the ship got caught in a storm in which one of the crates carrying it got struck by lightning (after it had struck one of the cranes), causing the packaging to rupture and allowing the poisonous liquid to leak from the crate and eventually fill the entire ship causing the soldiers and the sailors to either kill each other thanks to them hallucinating or die from a stress induced heart attack.

You play some strange video games, my friend. 🙂

Cameron

I haven’t played it, I did watch a walkthrough of it on YouTube though.

KoB

I don’t know nuttin’ ’bout no kangaroos neither…but I sho does want to learn mo’ ’bout pinups!

More proof that AW1Ed loves us and wants us to be happy!

The Other Whitey

So I saw:

F3F (biplane precursor to the F4F Wildcat)
SNJ-1/T-6
P-40
Spitfire
B-17
Mosquito
TBM
P-39
C-47
B-25
Willys Jeep
Tricked P-51 Racer

And lot of lovely lassies gracing said hardware.

Schwing!!!

KoB

There were planes?…AND a Jeep?…Hmmm? How’d I miss that?

Fjardeson

What kind of plane was “Precious Metal” with the opposing dual props? Bad-ass warbird!

Fjardeson

P-51 XR. Found on Wikipedia. They mentioned that specific aircraft. 🙂

Regarding snow: I actually like snow. It’s pretty, the kids have a great time, it’s good precipitation, we have warm clothes and a woodstove, plus I like colder weather. It’s also good deer hunting weather.

What I hate is what snow in southern California brings with it: a Biblical plague of fucking flatlanders who can’t drive, park like assholes, block the roads, bust through fences, trespass everywhere, leave their trash all over the place, and generally beg to get shot, or at least beaten.

NHSparky

Which is why everyone in Big Bear, Mammoth, etc., hate people from LA.

Roh-Dog

FYI, today is Greta Thunberg’s 18th birthday so now, as an “adult”, she is 100% culpable for the crap that spews from her suckhole.
If this same standard could also apply to AOC and the rest of the Commiecrats that’d be great. Y’all get right on that, media! (HA!)

See you thieves on the 6th! I’ll be the angry looking guy with calluses from doing more than my fair share of the heavy lifting, ya pricks!

As always, thank you for the Sunday morale boost!

KoB

I’ll be on the high ground…Guns laid, lanyard pulled tight…passing out torches, tar buckets, pitchforks, torches…and rope! BYOB (Bring your own boomstick)

Iffen you gonna be South of the line, this is a pro tip for finding a place to eat.

KoB

DAMN~! Try this one instead!

Roh-Dog

I needn’t watch the vid (will later), best BBQ in the Peach State can be found at 4 Way BBQ in Lumpkin.
Final answer.

Roh-Dog

I wanna punch that dude in the face but he ain’t wrong, especially about those chairs.
Also, shout out to Mac’s Bar-B-Q in Warm Springs.
Such a lovely little town and some of the nicest people on God’s green earth.

Northerner by birth (and force), Georgian by spirit and the will of the Almighty.

KoB

^WORD^ on the punching and the 2 initial choices. Homeboy that does that part in those vids just doesn’t have that true Southern Look about him, tho he is from down heah. He honestly looks more like a lot of the atypical character actors from a NYC Crime show. I do think that Talia is kinda hot. One day when you’re snowed in, bored, or girlfriend is “not in the mood” check out some of their other offerings Funny as all hell! Them and there’s group of others “Sh^t Southern Women Say” will have you rolling.

The Benning School for Wayward Children helped show alot of folks that Georgia (parts of it anyway) can be God’s Chosen Country. I have been to both of the places you made mention of and, yes, their offerings are exceptional. Good way to start a bar fight down here is to get a discussion on who has the best BBQ going. Back in my Road Warrior Days, I covered every town on a line of I-85 South to the Gulf Coast and over to the Atlantic. During that 20 plus years of travel, I prolly didn’t eat 3 meals a year in a fast food/chain store type place. I missed a good opportunity for a secondary career as a foodfinder/critic whatever for Yelp or somebody like that. The scamdemic has shut down an awful lot of the Mom n Pop Places. When you finially get the hell out of the PDRofCT, we gonna hit some of the ones that are left.

Roh-Dog

Oh, I’m familiar. I’ve tried to show the gf these but she don’t get it at all. Speaking of NYC Crime shows:
https://youtu.be/B5tqE293T_8

I’ll be forever blessed to head back that way, and iffin so, you’ll have to show me the localists of places.
My treat.
And I know how to defuse an impending bar braw, its at times expensive but the words “next round on me” seems to work and it 99.98% effective.
Anything to stay out of county lockup!

KoB

Heh heh! One of my favorites. Watched it again just now…for…reasons. Posted it awhile back on one of the cooking threads, a little dig at Ex & ‘Ed. I DO have the skillet/cast iron collection from Hell. Everything from an ashtray sized to a big 14 incher. Used my baby 6″ Griswold to make a baby sized cornbread for the New Year’s Day Feast of Turnip Greens, Black Eyed Peas, Ham Hocks, and yams. There is also an assortment of griddles, Dutch Ovens, 3 with legs, 1 with long handle and legs, and orphaned or possibly stolen at a Family Reunion, my very rare and much used Griswold Breakfast 3 compartment Skillet. Speaking of which, and him (an Original CT Yankey) Google Foo Samuel Griswold, the City and Battle of Griswoldville Georgia. There may be a test on that later.

I will look forward to a food feast road trip. Not so sure about the your treat tho, some of them places STILL don’t take greenbacks! 😀 😛
