2 Ark. paramedics shot on duty, return fire, killing suspect Officials say after a gunman shot two paramedics in the ambulance after an argument, one of the paramedics returned fire, killing the gunman

By Laura French

PINE BLUFF, Ark. — Two Arkansas paramedics were wounded in a shooting while responding to a medical call on Thursday.

Police say the medics were at a residence in Pine Bluff aiding a woman with knee pain when the patient’s boyfriend, identified by authorities as Kevin Curl Jr., 22, approached them and began arguing with them, according to the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette.

Curl was said to have pushed Paramedic John Spriggs Sr. who then reportedly punched Curl before Curl pulled out a firearm and shot both medics approximately three times in the chest, pelvic and abdominal areas, according to a police news release.

Investigation concludes fatal John Day shooting was self-defense

By Rudy Diaz
The investigation of a fatal shooting in John Day supported the initial findings that the act was in self-defense

Grant County District Attorney Jim Carpenter announced in a Dec. 16 press release he will not pursue charges against Lloyd N. Leach, 86, for shooting and killing Patrick L. Duignan, 34, Sept. 22 at an apartment on Southwest First Avenue in John Day.

Carpenter said he made the decision after reports, evidence, interviews and witnesses indicated that Leach acted in self-defense. The Oregon State Police major crimes team was activated and oversaw the investigation.

“Leach was justified in using physical force upon another person for self-defense from what Leach reasonably believed to be the use or imminent use of unlawful physical force,” Carpenter said in the press release. “Further, given all the circumstances, Leach used a degree of force which Leach reasonably believed to be necessary for the purpose.”

Attorney’s office: No charges filed against pawn shop owner in man’s shooting death

Nobody will be charged in connection to a man’s death in May because looters destroyed all security video and only one witness cooperated.

The Hennepin County Attorney’s Office said Monday that a pawn shop owner won’t be charged in Calvin Horton Jr.’s death after a six-month investigation by Minneapolis police, citing insufficient evidence to overcome a self-defense argument.

Officers were called to 1538 E. Lake Street around dusk on May 27 and found Horton lying on the sidewalk, suffering from a gunshot wound. He later died at a hospital.

Authorities ask for public’s help in Lake Street pawn shop homicide

Because officers were verbally and physically assaulted, no firearm was recovered, police said, and crime lab personnel couldn’t return to the crime scene until the following morning. By that time, everything in the pawn shop was gone, including security cameras and the DVR.

An autopsy determined Horton died of a shotgun wound.

The one cooperative witness told police Horton and several others had broken into the store and the shop’s owner fired at Horton when they were within seven feet of each other. Other witnesses were contacted to corroborate that account but none of them were cooperative, police said.

And that finishes the workweek with a Trifecta, Delta Whiskies and Whiskettes. WW grins.

“The right of the citizens to keep and bear arms has justly been considered, as the palladium of the liberties of a republic; since it offers a strong moral check against the usurpation and arbitrary power of rulers; and will generally, even if these are successful in the first instance, enable the people to resist and triumph over them.” — Joseph Story, Commentaries on the Constitution of the United States

WW is not the only one grinning! I do believe that I hear The Choir in the background.

In addition to doing Society a favor, the paras did Ms Thang one too. Wanna take odds that the dead boyfriend had something to do with her injury?

Don’t mess with us old men, we too tired to run and too old to fist fight. We WILL shoot you. At our age, a life prison sentence is no deterrent.

I hope Horton did suffer from his gunshot wound before he died. Now I hope he is suffering in Hell as Satan devours his worthless Soul.

Be amazed what one can build from a clothes pin.

The first story initially makes no sense. Why would someone come up and start arguing with the people treating your girlfriend?

Welp, there is reason:

John Bishop, CEO of Emergency Ambulance Service Inc., said Joshua Godfrey, 35, and John Spriggs Sr., 41, went above and beyond the call of duty in trying to protect a 20-year-old woman whose 22-year-old boyfriend, Kevin Curl Jr., had injured her and then became aggressive when the paramedics came to her rescue, according to a Pine Bluff Police Department report.

So instead of letting his “girlfriend” get the medical treatment, Curl wanted to continue to argue with her and with the paramedics treating her for the injuries he caused.

Somewhere someone will say “he didn’t do anything” and “he was a really good person that didn’t need to be killed.”

Idiots.

All of ’em.

Sounds exactly like Jamar Clark, which spurred months of BLM protests.

Read this story https://www.fox8live.com/2020/12/09/police-killed-injured-including-child-lacombe-shooting/ about a homeowner who told deputies he shot at four men after the men entered his home armed with guns.
Two of the men dead on the scene, two others taken to the hospital for treatment of gun shot wounds. A quote from the STPSO that will leave you puzzled, “While it is always tragic anytime there is a loss of life,” Sheriff Randy Smith said, “I am pleased that due to the rapid response time of our deputies all parties that were involved in this isolated incident have been accounted for.” Four perps, two dead, two wound, how long does it take?

Can you imagine the coroner’s report if one used a crossbow in home defense?
