Fake Photo Prompts Australia to Demand Apology from China

| December 2, 2020

Several media outlets which include the Business Insider are posting a story about an image that Australia claims was fake and put out by China.  The image shows an Australian special forces soldier with a knife the the throat of a small Afghan boy with the caption “Don’t be afraid, we are coming to bring you peace!”

The image was apparently posted by a Chinese official.

Australia is demanding an apology.

Australia demands apology from China after fake image posted on social media

SYDNEY (Reuters) – Australia demanded an apology after a senior Chinese official posted a fake image of an Australian soldier holding a knife with blood on it to the throat of an Afghan child, calling it “truly repugnant” and demanding it be taken down.

Prime Minister Scott Morrison called a media briefing to condemn the posting of the image, marking another downturn in deteriorating relations between the two countries.

The Australian government has asked Twitter to remove the image, posted on Monday by China’s foreign ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian on his official Twitter account, Morrison said.

“It is utterly outrageous and cannot be justified on any basis,” Morrison said. “The Chinese government should be utterly ashamed of this post. It diminishes them in the world’s eyes.”

Australia has told 13 special forces soldiers they face dismissal in relation to an independent report on alleged unlawful killings in Afghanistan, the head of the country’s army said on Friday.

Apparently Twitter does not dispute the legitimacy of every post and deemed this one OK.

Those in favor of leaving the afghan people alone, raise your hands.

They have the right to be stupidly retarded and kill each other for millennia, for ever and ever, while living their short lives out in extreme poverty.

Yeah, the Chinese government posting BS propaganda photos on social media “diminishes them” in the world’s eyes.

I guess ethnic cleansing of the Uyghurs didn’t do much to diminish them. Hell, they even got Disney to thank them.

I recall many black and white photos and films of Chinese
soldiers executing civilians with a bullet to the head.

You think the Chinese Communists are pulling shenanigans and trying to get away with it now, just wait until their handpicked crew is in the White House as the supposed leader of what used to be the free world.

Anybody starting to see, now, that MacArthur had the right idea back about 1951?

The Chinese Communists have a stated goal of world domination and will continue their march to obtain that end result. They are patient people and will let nothing or no one stand in their way.

Spapos showing up to tell me how wrong I am and screeeee “Orange Man Bad” in 5.4.3.2..

MacArthur was dead wrong in 1951.

1) America was not supportive of a war of annihilation with China, especially over Korea. No support here would have been catastrophic bad. Russia had more than enough nukes to make things bad for us, even if we ultimately “won” an exchange. With our Army swallowed by combat in China, they roll to Portugal in six weeks.

2) while North Korea had shot out its magazine, and was on the ropes, China had not. They were highly vulnerable, having no logistics for a wider effort. However, big however, we could not significantly ramp up to exploit it without -massive- WW2 commitment. MacA believed he could command it, or that faced with it the US would go along. He was dead wrong. Not over a place almost no one could find on a map, and without a Pearl Harbor to piss us off. China and Russia were not so arrogantly erroneous as the Empire of Japan. They were waiting to for us to stick our dicks in that meatgrinder.

3) He was told the rules and defied the President. That was epic wrong and he knew it. Resign and run for office, but not disobedienc. If what has been alleged to me is true, as Pres I would have personally shot him.

Yes, McA understood war. What he failed to understand was America in 1951. That “warlord of Japan” shit ruined him.

Resign if you can’t obey. Period.

Was actually speaking more on McA wanting/seeing the need to contain the Communist Chinese. And the whole “avoiding war on the Asian Land Mass.” IIRC from some studies his idea was NOT to use nukes on the Chinese Communists, but to create a nuclear wasteland between the Chinese Communist border and the Koreans. Patton wanted to go ahead and take on the Russians in ’45 too. How would that have gone over.

The USA policies of appeasement on the one hand and the attempt to be the World’s policeman/meddling where we have no business has cost way yonder too many American Lives and a considerable amount of American Treasure. I’m sick and tired of both. I personally didn’t shed any blood, but I know a lot of the blood that was shed. I did personally provide a considerable amount of that treasure.

In 1945 we might have driven Russia back to Russia. Their logistics were -highly- dependant on us. We bombed Dresden ti ash in support of Russian advance, not ours. They -couldnt- advance without us hitting key targets.

This presumes we were smart enough to stop outside russia/ukraine/belarus, and that Russia was smart enough to accept that.

Neither of those “smart” were likely in a Patton scenario.

I agree. Truman’s biggest mistake WRT McArthur was that he should have fired him sooner.

What many people don’t stop to consider when they look at what happened in Korea is that at that time, the early 50’s, our focus was on Europe, not Asia. That’s why our commitment to fighting in Asia was a return to the status quo, not a “conquest.”

Those who say we should have gone balls-to-the-wall in Korea should consider that the only way we could have done that with the diminished forces we had available to us would have been to pull nearly all of our troops out of Europe, which in turn would have made it awfully tempting for Stalin to move in and take over.

And again, Europe was WAAAY more important to the US than some tiny peninsula in Asia that most Americans couldn’t find on a map.

BTW it was the same Euro-centric world policy that got us mired in Vietnam. France basically blackmailed the US into backing their play in Indochina by threatening to undermine US efforts in Europe. After the French got their asses kicked in Vietnam we were left holding that tar baby.

DeGaulle extorted Eisenhower to support him as post-war leader of France, in exchange for French cooperation with the Normandy invasion.

YGBFSM!

Eisenhower should have told DeGaulle to fuck off, and arranged a German “assassination” or “errant German bomb” if he didnt Geek.

We helped them with Vietnam, they still lost, and they fucked us in NATO anyway.

Yup. They saved our Revolution. Yup we paid back in full, twice. If they fuck themselves again, we should hand them over to Poland when we finish saving them again. Or maybe to Australia. A colony of Diggers would be just the thing to deter Russia.

Heh.

Let’s play a little game of “role reversal”.
Imagine a picture of a Chinese troop holding a knife to a muslim Uighyar youth’s neck.
“Don’t be afraid, we are coming to bring you peace.”

Imagine the howls of outrage and the calls for immediate revoking and apology. And people would listen!

Commissar's Empirical Evidence

This site is an echo chamber, and fails to see how Trump has emboldened our allies to commit war atrocities – as evidenced by the picture. I happen to know this photo is legitimate because we discussed it in detail in the Chinese blog I routinely participate in, and it has been verified by several anonymous sources, including the Chinese government. It’s just a matter of time before the MSM reports the story with more information, and the American people will see more evidence how corrupt this administration is, with more proof that supports why Trump was voted out of office.

The days of conservative/republican politics is OVER. In spite of the voting anomalies and other fraud that will never be investigated, Biden won the election fair and square.

Ex Coelis

Well if you’re here and posting a comment, you must love being in an Echo chamber… And you happen to know this photo is legitimate because you and a some other people that you’ve never physically met have discussed it in detail at some nebulous and unnamed Chinese blog that you routinely participate in? And this picture has also been verified by anonymous sources to also include the Chinese Gov’t?
Yup. Unsubstantiated and unsupported, I’m completely convinced by your post. NOT!!!!
Only thing you may have correctly cited is that Biden won. Question: would you be terribly offended if I asked you to fuck off..? In that case; please consider yourself deeply offended…

Periodically, folks on this site will chime in under a “Commissar”-ishe moniker, and write out something nonsensical (like he always does) – intended for sarcastic humor.

Some people are better at it than I am.
