Victim shoots, injures suspects in attempted robbery

Candice Williams
The victim of an attempted robbery thwarted three perpetrators Thursday night firing shots and injuring two of them on the city’s west side. Detroit police have arrested the suspects.

According to police, around 9 p.m. in the 8200 block of Woodlawn, the victim, a 49-year-old man, was standing outside when he saw men in a blue Buick. He told police that he saw the men trying to rob someone else and then they turned their attention to him.

As the three men attempted to rob the victim, a CPL holder, he retrieved his gun and fired shots. As the men attempted to leave, they put their car in reverse and hit a building.

The victim was not injured.

Police: Man with gun permit shoots attacker in West Philly

by Robert Moran
A 25-year-old man with a permit to carry a concealed firearm shot a 43-year-old man who allegedly was terrorizing a West Philadelphia neighborhood Monday evening, police said.

The man was shot in the right knee and was transported by police to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, where he was listed in stable condition, said Chief Inspector Scott Small.

Just before 5:50 p.m., two 19th District officers on foot patrol were approached by a witness describing a man behaving erratically nearby in the unit block of North 57th Street, Small said. As the officers approached, they witnessed the shooting.

I’d hit it!

Nothing like a blast from the past with a 3 pete trifecta of WRT, including an old school knee capping, and a four flusher lockup. Life is good.

Of all the Colonel Colt’s Peacemakers depicted on the Cowboy Picture Shows, a favorite would have to be Paladins’. That thar is one more purr-dee shooting iron. Matt Dillon’s is nice too. Anybody else notice on the Gunsmoke original opening scene, you don’t see Matthew cocking the pistol before firing and the bad guy gets his shot off FIRST? CBS changed that opening scene to the fast ride in on the horse in an attempt to downplay any hint of “violence.”

Nice “floatation devices”/”blouse bunnies” Ms Thang is sporting there. If she was holding a scary black rifle, it wouldn’t sink when the boat went down. Oh, she IS holding a scary black rifle? Must have missed that admiring the paint job somebody did putting them thar Daisy Dukes on her. WHOOOOOOOOOOOWEEEEEEEE!!!

Yeah my scary black rifles could have used some flotation devices like hers, or I would not have lost them to that terrible boating accident!

I’d be smiling like that too if I was there with her having fun shooting and other stuff!!!

The Peacemaker, a gun so popular Hollywood used it in movies almost 40 years before it was made. Second place goes to Indiana Jones’ Schmeisser MP40s.

Colt stopped making them in 1940 due to military contracts and lack of demand. Colt began making the SAA again in 1956 because of the demand created by Western movies and TV shows.

Hollywierd has never been very faithful to historical accuracy when it comes to firearms. The most prolific lever action rifles and carbines in Westerns were not invented until 1892, long after the periods portrayed.
