Security guard shoots and kills man, injures another in Paradise City Gentleman’s Club confrontation

By Courtney Fischer
A security guard shot and killed a man overnight after a confrontation at a southeast Houston club, police say.

The confrontation began at Paradise City Gentleman’s Club off I-45 near Fuqua around 2 a.m. Friday.

Police say the man killed was shot by the club security guard after coming into the club with a gun.

According to Houston police, the man initially came in with two friends, got into some kind of argument, left the club, and then came back with a pistol.

Officers say he confronted one of the security guards, and the guard fired. A second man was also shot, and he’s expected to survive.

Burglar arrested after confrontation with armed homeowner, police say

By Pat Reavy
A suspected burglar was arrested by police after a neighbor who came outside to investigation the commotion confronted him with a shotgun.

The investigation began about 11:40 p.m. Thursday when police were called to the area of 3200 South and 3600 West. Officers arrived to find Laulej Erakrik, 39, lying in the street with blood coming from his face and a knife on the ground next to him, according to a police affidavit.

Another man who lives in the area told police that he had heard yelling outside and windows breaking, and “due to previous burglaries in the area, he walked outside with his shotgun” to find out what was happening.

The man said he found Erakrik, who charged at him with a knife, the affidavit states.

“(The man) stated he believed (Erakrik) was going to stab him. (He) explained, in order to protect himself, he struck (Erakrik) with his shotgun a couple times,” according to the affidavit.

The man told police that his shotgun was not loaded, which is why he hit Erakrik with the barrel of the gun.

I believe a quote from True Grit covers this nicely, Delta whiskies and Whiskettes:

Goudy: Now is it not true that you sprang up on old man Wharton and his two sons with a deadly, six shot revolver in your hand?

Rooster Cogburn: I always try to be ready.

Goudy: Was this revolver loaded and cocked?

Rooster Cogburn: Well, a gun that’s unloaded and cocked ain’t good for nothin’.

“As nightfall does not come all at once, neither does oppression. In both instances, there is a twilight. And it is in such twilight that we all must be aware of change in the air, however slight, lest we become unwitting victims of the darkness.” — Justice William O. Douglas, US Supreme Court (1939-75)

You can either act like a Gentleman at our Club, or you can get shot.

Dumbazz needs some shells for his shottie.

Got lost in the Ruger Linky. (planned it that way, didn’t ya!) A little schooled too. Heh, heh… one of the very few weapons articles that DIDN’T make much reference to JMB.

Speaking of getting schooled…That there is one more fine as all outdoors Honey Hushed Ms Thang. I know an old dog that would do some tricks for her. DAAAAAAAAYYYUUUUUUUM. Wonder if she cooks? I showed that picture to the brick outhouse and it was pea green and weeping with envy for not being as well constructed as she is.

Hmmm, seems that the media report on the Salt Lake City incident tried to sneak one by on the Whiz Wheel®™ by misspelling the perps name. Hah, didn’t work, as it looks like he has been arrested at least once a year for the past 10 years on basically the same kind of crap as this latest incident. Anyway, here’s the score:

I’ve asked Santa for the Ruger 5.7 for Christmas. The FN was my first choice but I’m cheap.
