Woman shoots intruder in a home near Daphne

by: Debbie Williams
A 44-year-old woman is hospitalized after being shot Thursday morning in a home near Daphne.

The homeowner on Collier Loop Road was in the bathtub when her children heard a commotion in the front of the house. “So they go back and tell the mother that someone is in the house. They don’t know who it is and they should not be in the house,” says Baldwin County Sheriff’s Captain Clint Cadenhead.

That led to a confrontation between the homeowner and a woman she knew, who used to live there. “She commands the person to get out of the house. They don’t leave. She ends up getting a firearm out of the bedside table and again telling the person to leave and the information we have the person that got shot may have reached for the gun.”

“The pool of guns that get turned in in buybacks are simply not the same guns that would otherwise have been used in crime.” — Harvard professor David Kennedy, as reported on FoxNews

Thought that story was deja vu all over again, then I clicked on the from the archives and said, Oh, that’s why. It rang a big bell cause oldest brother and family lived in that general vicinity and this was one of the cases that caused SisNLaw to want to sell the real nice estate sized property they had been at for decades and down size to a River House. Trying to get a little further away from all of the trash coming out of Mobile. It was all good till Her-a-cane Sally roared right up the river dumping all that rain and the previous “water never got higher than this” mark got drowned. Bro had a buncha stuff under the stilt house “above the flood line” that went floating out into the Gulf.

Firearms CEO to Salesforce “back in the day.” “Think you boys can sell this piece?” “Of course Boss, Browning designed it. We won’t even have to put lipstick on it.”

Then there is the similar looking Browning Nomad/Challenger/Medalist series. Basically the Colt Woodsman reworked and improved by Browning’s sons. Easier to field strip (one screw), great factory triggers, and more accurate than anyone here.

Wait…What?!
Better than the Ruger Marks series?
(said half in jest, half serious, half questioning)

Define “better”! Depending on your answer… yes or no.
