Seems like I recollect from a history lesson there was another Mayor and Grubanator of Noo Yawk that got bunched britches when Ol’ Abe sent Federal Troops (Combat Vets fresh from the Gettysburg Battlefield) to put down the draft riots in July of 1863. In that case a whole lot of Black Folks were hung from lamp posts and a Black Children’s Orphanage was burned with the death of many of the children. And, yep, the rioters were acting under the orders of democrats.
The 1860s were a long time ago. It’s not like a democrat president admitted civil rights = democrat voters or there hasn’t been a tremendous amount of evidence that welfare (dem darling policy) was specifically designed to break up and keep apart minority families.
Next you’re going to tell me that planned parenthood (another dem darling) doesn’t have its origins in eugenics and its founder was an ardent racist. /s
The Dims of the times didn’t have to do anything to stir up such riots. The war was bleeding the country white and people were getting tired of it. Certain areas were starting to resist the draft, and a number visited the White House to put their objections directly to Lincoln. Seattle Mayor signed a contract with a former pimp to become “the Seattle street Czar”. $150k to him and his “group” to find an “alternative to policing”.
The new Street Czar’s brother, a felon who had spent 22 years in prison for rape, robbery, illegal possession of a firearm, assault, drug possession and delivery, was wearing a holster on his hip when confronted in a drug bust in 2016. He refused to obey commands to show hands and was reaching for his waist while ducking behind a car door when he was shot and killed. A gun was found on the floor under the front seat of the car.
At Harborview Medical Center after being pronounced dead, staff located a black bag around his neck containing 3 golf-ball sized bags of suspected heroin and 3 golf-ball sized bags of suspected crack cocaine.
