MoH recipient MSG Leroy Petry has his MoH license plate stolen

| September 15, 2020

ninja sends us the story of Leroy Petry losing his Medal of Honor license plate while parked at the airport. In a case of literal stolen valor,

If you see someone driving around with a Medal of Honor license plate, the vehicle may not necessarily belong to a recipient of the military’s highest honor for valor.

Retired Army Master Sgt. Leroy Petry, who received the award in 2011 for risking his life to save fellow Rangers in Afghanistan in 2008, says someone stole the plate off one of his vehicles last week while it was parked at the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.

“So yesterday I noticed that someone stole my Medal of Honor plate from the front of my vehicle while parked at Seatac airport last week while I was visiting the troops in Ft. Eustis VA,” said Petry, 41, in a post on his Facebook page. “I had the security screws so someone must have really wanted it. Probably some Call of Duty gamer or PX Ranger. #StolenValor.”

License plates with military medals are target indicators for people that hate the military, like pantifa and BLdM.

And that is why I have absolutely NO military, 2A, NRA, or political stickers on my PRIUS V … my car might get keyed while I’m drinking my latte at Starbuck’s.

Seriously. I live in CA, drive a PRIUS, and drink cafe latte.

But no soy latte. That’s what my former MP and SF best friend drinks. (…and he’s a prof at SJSU!).

Seriously. You wouldn’t guess we were former military if you saw us (except for the t-shirts once in a while.)

MSG Eric

you drive a Prius? Wow, I thought you were a dude…

(You kind of asked for it driving one…)

Hondo

Like BMWs, the Prius is a good auto.

Unfortunately, the percentage of smug, arrogant j-hole pr!cks owning both is IMO much higher than most vehicles. So the autos get a bad rep due to a higher than normal fraction of their owners being j-holes.

…mug, arrogant j-hole pr!cks….

Those are the Tesla drivers!

Saw one on fire one morning on southbound 101 a couple of years ago as I was driving north. Fatality — the driver crashed into the retaining wall and the battery burned. Took a long time to extinguish the fire because that battery requires special measures.

Even “our” intrepid reporter, Dan Noyes gets in on the action; photos of him in the article — lots of damage photos.

In 2020 they found out why he crashed:

Hehehehehe. Yeah, I know. Don’t let your enemy know that YOU are THEIR enemy.

^^^ above response to MSG Eric ^^^

Eric (the OC tanker)

Dude, I drive a Pruis Prime. I am averaging 78 MPG at 80MPH. I drive a prius not to save the planet, but to save my wallet. I have never spent more than $30 to fill my gas tank.I used to drive a full sized Dodge conversion van. it got 10mpg on a good day down hill with a tail wind.
Just say’n.

David

You average that $7000battery change in?

3E9

378000+ on my 2010 Prius and no battery change yet.

OldSoldier54

Yeah, and it’s Seattle.

Sapper3307

Seattle,, nuff said

Green Thumb

I wonder if All-Points Logistics has any “employees” in the area?

Smooth move ex-lax. Steal one of the most highly traceable items in the world. DaHell you gonna do with it? Can’t sell it. Can’t display it. Can’t tell nobody you got it. Can’t eat it. Seriously? Daphuque did you get your sh^t for brains from?

Be funny as all hell if numbnuts put the plates on his vehicle and MSG Petrys came by where the car was parked and just kinda hung out til numbnuts showed up. Ooops. I’d buy a copy of that beatdown.

MustangCryppie

He’s gonna put it on the basement wall next to his Farrah poster.

SFC D

I had that poster. Always thought Jaclyn Smith was hotter. Never did follow the crowd, even then.

5th/77th FA

Oh Hells to the yeahs SFC D! Testify! Us sick minds DO think alike don’t we.

My hot crush has always been Kate Jackson; I like ‘em brainy-looking…

waltusaf

Agree. I was always partial to Kate Jackson myself.

KoB

Be still my beating heart.

Andy11M

I’m sure if it shows up on ebay the sale won’t get pulled down no mater how many people hit that report button.

26Limabeans

The first person they show it to will be their downfall.

I simply hope that the thieving fleabag gets caught by a Fellow Veteran and gets his fleabitten ass beat!

OldSoldier54

… like a drum!!!

Berliner

Lots of theft at SEATAC. It’s far enough away from Seattle that the homeless don’t reside there but the thieves visit often, dragging an empty suitcase to fill.

That’s why I no longer drive to SEATAC. Register and park (2006 Prius w/250k miles) at the McChord terminal on JBLM in their long term lot for free and ride the shuttle. Cost for the shuttle (2 people) is less than it costs to park 2 days at SEATAC.

David

Y’all Prius owners multiplying? Aren’t there enough F150s?

26Limabeans

Once knew a fence that had a group of people going through cars
at Boston’s Logan Airport on a daily basis.
Even the security people were in on it.
Then 911 happened and now it’s all DHS.
Same shit going on just under new management.

Combat Historian

Back in the early ‘80s, used to walk around downtown Seattle, the waterfront, visited the Space Needle, etc., while off-duty from Fort Lewis. Tacoma was much closer, but Seattle was “the Big City”. Flew several times into and out of SEATAC. Now it’s all gone, turned into blue shit-hole hell on earth…

NHSparky

I learned long ago never to take a POV to any major airport, expense being the least of the myriad of issues involved.

Here’s hoping the thief gets a major dose of karmic justice.

Old NFO

That is truly pathetic… One can only hope s/he gets caught by a vet… The karma would be…epic though!

Ocean12

Woe be unto the individual caught with those plates. I work about 90 miles north of SEATAC…. please let me stop the car sporting that plate

IDC SARC

Low-life sack of yeasty quim squirt.

Commissioner Wretched

Don’t mince words, SARC … what do you *really* think?
