War of Words or an Arms Race – What Matters?

| August 30, 2020

Peaceful protest or unlawful riot?  Demonstration or anarchy?  Hero, villain or victim?  Vigilante or domestic terrorist? Self-defense, protection or agitation?

These battling narratives are labels used to help the public frame what is happening to our country.  My fear, however, is that a war of words is quickly being replaced by an escalation in the arms race as guns play an ever-increasing role in the “gatherings” we now see every night.

Perhaps people feel the need to arm themselves out of fear, and that plays as justification on both sides of the debate.

The latest was Portland, Oregan where a man was shot and killed. A photo showed the man wearing a hat with a ‘Patriot Prayer’ logo. The group is labeled as far-right by the Southern Poverty Law Center.  It is not clear if that had anything to do with the shooting.

.

Before I explore the “guns at the ‘gatherings'” issue, I would like to point out something in regard to the Kenosha shootings. The two men that were killed, Joseph Rosenbaum and Anthony Huber, along with the one person that was wounded, Gaige Grosskreutz, all have prior criminal behavior that may be relevant.

As far as the shooter – Kyle Rittenhouse’s past and records, if he even has any, is a little more challenging because he is a minor.

If you have not seen it, here is the criminal complaint against Rittenhouse:  Rittenhouse-Criminal Complaint

Analysis of the complaint by a criminal defense attorney is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xMmCAbJT6U0

Three and possibly all four of the men involved in the shooting incident – Kyle Rittenhouse, Joseph Rosenbaum and Gaige Grosskreutz – were not even originally from Kenosha, Wisconsin.

Rosenbaum, the first man killed in the shooting, was from Waco, Texas, according to his Facebook profile, and spent some time in Arizona – much of it due to being incarcerated. He was engaged to be married to someone in Kenosha and started working at Wendy’s in Kenosha late last year.

Grosskreutz, the man wounded in the arm, was from West Allis, Wisconsin which is about 45 minutes away from Kenosha.

Rittenhouse, the shooter, was from Antioch, Illinois which is about 30 minutes away from Kenosha. Anthony Huber appears to be the only one involved that had lived in Kenosha for quite some time.

Anthony Huber, who was the second individual shot, was living in Silver Lake Wisconsin, about a 30 minute drive from Kenosha.

The point of this is that the “gatherings/demonstrations/riots” attracted people with some vested interest. Further, the incidents that subsequently ensued involved a subset of the people gathering at these events. Are they a representative sampling of the participants as a whole, or just representative of a sample of people with a propensity to engage with others where the rubber meets the road?

If they are a random sampling, then the issue of their criminal past proves interesting.

Stated another way – if these people are a representative sampling of all of the protesters/rioters/demonstrators, then why is there such a high percentage with violent criminal backgrounds? Some have suggested that agitators are being recruited and even bused in from outside the community. Then again, it could be that this small sampling is not representative of the larger community. It would be a huge coincidence, however.

KYLE RITTENHOUSE

There has been much made about Rittenhouse and his support for the police.  Some have labeled him a policeman wannabe.  He is 17 y/o and often a passion comes out in an odd way, but that doesn’t make him a radical.  Maybe with the proper adult supervision, he could get himself into the proper physical and mental shape and be properly trained in the discipline of becoming a police officer.

I’m not defending Kyle, per see, it is just some of the portrayals on some news articles seem to be an overreach to try to make him out to be either a White Supremacist or far-right whack job.

On the other hand – consider this, if Rittenhouse is just simply an odd, immature kid with some rough edges, and people are propping him up as some kind of hero, how will those same people feel should Rittenhouse takes a bad turn in a few years based on this form of “celebrity.”  Be careful who you idolize.  The same goes for actors and sports figures.

We can’t check criminal records for Rittenhouse due to him being a minor.

JOSEPH “JoJo” DON ROSENBAUM

Joseph Rosenbaum was a registered sex offender for sexual misconduct with a minor. He appears to have served time in prison. In prison, he was charged with arson, disobedience, possession and manufacturing a weapon, assault with a weapon, possession of drugs or narcotics, assault on staff, etc.  The dates of these infractions range from 2003-2010 so it is suspected that he was incarcerated for the charge of sexual misconduct with a minor in 2002. This is just an educated guess but that charge seems to stand out. He was also charged with child molestation but he may have pled down to a lesser charge of sexual misconduct.

Rosenbaum was a registered sex offender in Arizona and appeared to register when he moved to Wisconsin, which is what would be required of him to do upon changing his state of residence.

ARRESTS / CRIMINAL RECORDS  (NOTE: There may be some overlap of same incidents with arrest dates, court dates and lesser charges filed in plea)

  • Sexual Conduct with a Minor / Dangerous Crimes Against Children (2002);  Sexual Crimes/Dangerous Crimes Against Children (2002); Molestation of Child (2002); NOT SPECIFIED BY STATE (2002); NOT SPECIFIED BY STATE (2003); NOT SPECIFIED BY STATE (2010); Interf Monitor Device (2014); NOT SPECIFIED BY STATE (2014)

INFRACTIONS WHILE INCARCERATED:

  • Staff Obstruction (2003); Not in Auth Area (2005); Refusal to Work (2006); Give/Recieve Tattoo (2006); Assault with Weapon (2007);  Poss/Manufact Weapon (2008); Disrespect (2008); Disobeying Order (2008); Possession of Contraband (2008); Tampering (2008); Tampering with Security (2009); Disobey Verbal/Writt (2009); Possession 0f Drugs/Narcotics (2009); Arson (2009); Assault on Staff W/B (2009); Obstructing Staff (2010); Assault on Staff (2010)

Rosenbaum’s criminal past is listed above because he strikes me as a troubled man, prone to anger and has a propensity toward violence as evidenced by his criminal charges.

In the following video, Rosenbaum is seen as challenging one or all of the people holding rifles to shoot him.  At one time, someone points to Rosenbaum and asks for somebody to control him.

As a side note, Rosenbaum is seen holding a bag at the start of the video.  Later on, he must have dropped it since he is seen picking up the bag and continued to hold it.  It’s not clear if this is Rosenbaum’s bag or he picked up an abandoned bag.  It is reasonable to consider this is the same bag he threw at Rittenhouse (shooter) later as Rosenbaum chased him.  Some had suggested it was a Molotov Cocktail but this conjecture may have been influenced by the poor video and perhaps the likelihood of the plastic fluttering in the wind when it was thrown.

In the video, the bag appears to hold a bottle of water or some other bottled drink or liquid.

ANTHONY MICHAEL HUBER

As mentioned above, Huber was the only one that seemed to be a long time Kenosha resident. It has been reported, however, that he lived in Silver Lake Wisconsin which is a 30 minute drive to Kenosha. Like several others, Huber has past criminal charges that suggest violence such as battery and strangulation.

ARRESTS / CRIMINAL RECORDS  (NOTE: There may be some overlap of same incidents with arrest dates, court dates and lesser charges filed in plea)

NOTE: To emphasize the point made above – many of these are overlapping arrests, charges and court appearances while the legal system wrestled with appropriate charges and sentencing.  When no disposition is listed, there may not have been a conviction.  The listing above was an attempt to be all inclusive vs. a false padding of events to make an overall appearance worse than it is.  However, there is a tendency toward violent behavior and that should come through.

Here is Huber standing alone at the “peaceful rally/gathering/protest/demonstration,” and then he stands behind what appears to be a clearly agitated Rosenbaum.

Journalist Andy Ngo claims that he found Grosskreutz is a member of the People’s Revolution Movement of Milwaukee, a social justice group.

SUMMARY

Most would probably agree that all of these men should not have been there that evening in Kenosha.  When you place individuals that feel passionate about making a difference in a highly volatile situation, the worst is bound to happen.  Almost all lives were ruined including the families.

A huge irony is that none of these men seem to be able to possess a firearm legally – by age or as a result of a criminal conviction. It was reported that Rosenbaum was trying to take Rittenhouse’s weapon away from him and if he had succeeded, he would be in violation of the law due to his felony conviction.

Although the legal wrangling may be beneficial to all of us as interesting questions are answered, there is sure to be more of this as fear of being on the wrong side of a weapon may drive people to obtain one.

Why can’t people register to legally protest or peacefully assemble?  As in – get a permit?  Would this create more of a police state that people are protesting against?

I find it interesting, and telling, that all of these individuals have violent backgrounds.  As stated, I don’t know much about Kyle Rittenhouse.

I don’t know for sure but I would guess that not many people out on the street at these “gatherings” are engineers, medical doctors, architects, or bankers.  It seems like they are people willing to fill a void and speak with unrest rather than dialogue.

So… I said all of the above to ask this simple question:

QUESTION:  Why are these individuals the foot soldiers in the battle for America’s soul?

ANSWER:  Because we let them be.  They are filling a void that was left when our leaders abandoned respectable dialog or cannot effectively communicate effective messages.

Could you look up the “supposed” DD-14 for one Michael Forest Reinoehl who is suspected of murdering Aaron Danielson in Portland OR? In a screengrab of Reinoehl’s Facebook posts, he stated that he was “in the Army and hated it”. He is said to be 48 years old. Thanks for any info you can find.

Hack Stone

He got off easy, he was only disarmed.

Daisy Cutter

I see what you did there.

HMCS(FMF) ret

I posted this the other day – a lawyer talking about the charges against Kyle Rittenhouse – it’s worth the time if you haven’t seen it before:

Daisy Cutter

He had a good point about the rifle and him being 17 – there was a huge UNLESS and it sounded like if he was under supervision.

I guess much like a driver’s permit before 16 y/o, if you have a licensed driver in the car.

But, he safely said that we don’t know what applies to Rittenhouse because we simply don’t know all the circumstances.

Poetrooper

In one of the videos I’ve seen there was definitely an older guy, big burly dude also armed with an AR, who was giving the others instructions at the car dealership before their operation got blown up and the kid got separated from his group.

His lawyer should be able to use that to establish that the kid was under adult supervision.

What really determines how this prosecution goes is who wins the November election…

MI Ranger

I believe I saw the same videos (early in the day) where a bearded individual in a blue shirt/jacket is talking about how they will operate, and Kyle is talking about his job as a medic/first responder. In the same video they mention there are “over watch” people on the roof. I question what good these guys did, if they weren’t helping Kyle. USA today had some corroborating statements from other individuals at the scene, mentioning the “Snipers” (though they claim Kyle was pointing a weapon at them). Has anyone scene a video where Kyle or anyone else points a weapon at anyone (vice low ready) except when they shoot?
An additional resource is a YouTube video posted by Colion Noir. Colion posts a lot about 2nd Amendment rights, is also a lawyer.
The hanging question they all bring up, is Kyle’s rights as a juvenile (17yr old) in both Illinois and Wisconsin. Some have said his mother dropped him off, so either way he would not be guilty of “transporting a firearm and ammunition” across state lines as some have suggested (by his mother dropping him off, she would be the one transporting it). He may still be guilty of juvenile in possession (under 18) in Wisconsin.
Not sure why the bearded gentlemen is not around in the many videos during the shootings, and chases of Kyle, but at question would be how close does the supervisor have to be? I am sure the DA will say he must be on hand. If he was facing some other folks down, like in the earlier video with Mr. Rosenblaum, it may have been just a few seconds and they got separated. He is on record making a statement about the incidents with police, so one would assume he was there but not on camera because all the events were a matter of seconds. He was probably trying to catch up with Kyle as he ran down the street.

Respectfully, we only have ourselves and our fellow citizens to blame.

Our elected leaders, regardless of how ill-equipped they may be, are there because we chose them. Those few candidates that truly favor respectable dialogue, those with potential to be true statesmen, are quickly pushed aside by the electorate in favor of entertainment and an echo chamber.

Education, properly applied, remains the only true panacea. We actively choose to remain ignorant.

Penguinman000

I blame social media for the lions share. And no, that isn’t me being a curmudgeon. Social media has warped societies brain’s into believing memes reveal deep thought, pushes folks into an echo chamber and makes it easy to reduce anyone who thinks different into a caricature.

In short, social media brings out our basest, most mean spirited versions of ourselves. That’s why I dumped all of my social media other than this place. I was dismayed by what was being spouted from people I knew and respected. The things I saw people supporting online were not reflective of the people I knew in person. No book of faces, instatwit, or other nonsense for me.

Our “leaders” are swimming in that cesspool.

We are reaping what we have sown.

nobunny

Couldn’t have said it better.

Never bring a knife to a gun fight.

And if you do bring a gun, you better be all in.

Much like combat, anything goes. You get hit, that’s on you. Better be prepared. It ain’t a game.

Can’t whine and cry later.

If dude wanted to shoot the kid, why did he not?

He was slow on the draw. He had the jump, for sure. He should not bitch about his hesitation to make himself feel better. Fuck him.

And now he is the victim? Bottom line, you are holding a side arm in a free fire zone, be prepared to use it.

MI Ranger

There were some tweets by a “friend” of Mr. Grosskreuz, that said the only thing he regrets is hesitating and not emptying his mag. Hopefully this was just a posturing friend and not someone who speaks for him. A lawyer would have a field day with that.
As you mention, he is whining and crying later, but he can at least do that, unlike his buddy’s.

timactual

I don’t have much sympathy for Rittenhouse and even less for the other three. If you don’t want to get gored, don’t run with the bulls.

Like you said, if you pick up a gun count on using it. If you attack someone carrying a gun, count on getting shot.

Excellent synopsis Steve, Thanks for putting all of this in sequence for us. Trying to keep up with all of the different posts and with the screeching of the spapos seagull was rather difficult. And I had not seen the total charges list on the young man, Kyle. What a crock!

Many excellent points are made above too. I’m not a lawer, nor do I play one on TV. I have, however, played doctor with several nice Nurse Ms Thang Goodbody…but again, I digress. I did have 4 quarters of Business Law, the 2nd ex Mrs was a paralegal, SiL IS an Attorney, and as a licensed concealed carry holder for over 50 years, I have studied the carrying and use of deadly weapons. Following along with the posts and comments of Attorneys on this site have helped too.

All of that being said, and not to discuss who should or should not have been where with what, at the end of the day, the empirical video evidence WILL (or should) show that this young man was simply defending himself from bodily harm. He was retreating, under attack, by superior forces and did what he thought he had to do. If he is convicted of defending himself, we must all re-think the entire self defense legal system.

“…Elected leaders…”(?) Nope, we have very very few leaders in this country. I refuse to use the term. It’s even a stretch to say elected officials, since, in so many cases, the election is skewed by lack of decent choices, gerrymandering, entrenched political families, and in many areas now, a certain card in the deck. Decent people will not put themselves thru what the swamp dwellers require in order to be…well…parasites on society. Education, the key? The education system has failed us because most of the people have become, not educated, but indoctrinated.

Social media. Not on it, but have lurked on several pages. P’mann is right. Idiots, keyboard commandos, and spapos seagulls are everywhere. And their data mines are running 24/7/365.

Get ready Little Lady…Hell is coming for breakfast.

Hate_me

I qualified the bit about education with “properly applied” because it’s possible to teach bigotry, hatred, and intolerance just as it is wisdom and understanding.

Do not confuse education, as a concept, with the bureaucratic system charged with administering it. Indoctrination is not education, though the two are often confused. Teaching one how to reason and understand for themselves is not the same as teaching them what to think about rote circumstances.

Both parties are exploring divisions to maintain their power and preserve a corrupt political economy that puts the interests of the few over the interests of the American people and our nation.

As an American citizen, regardless of the color of your skin, you are far more likely to be physically battered, hospitalized, or killed by the police in the United States than if you were a citizen of any other industrial society.

Yet the American people are so divided on the issue that people are killing each other in the streets and the “Oak Keepers” have just declared a civil war.

We are being conned.

Manipulated.

Unable to see our aligned interests.

Fyrfighter

“As an American citizen, regardless of the color of your skin, you are far more likely to be physically battered, hospitalized, or killed by the police in the United States than if you were a citizen of any other industrial society.”

You keep saying this, but fail to mention what percentage of those with negative interactions with police started by resisting, fighting, or attacking the police… Is it possible that in other countries that people don’t live the “thug life” and think they don’t have to listen to the police, or even more that they have to fight, attack, shoot, or otherwise get into conflict with the police? Of course, such things would never occur to you… You were all about the RACE thing until that started to be shown as pure bullshit, so now you’re switched to “American cops are thugs” theory….. It’s no less bullshit than your last theory, you pick one variable, and focus on that, without even for a second looking at other more likely variables… That happens a lot with those who are thoroughly indoctrinated, they are unable to consider anything other than what they are fed by their handlers…

Poetrooper

“As an American citizen, regardless of the color of your skin, you are far more likely to be physically battered, hospitalized, or killed by the police in the United States than if you were a citizen of any other industrial society.”

Even if that is true, which I doubt, you still must factor in that those other “industrial societies” tend not to have the large minority populations that we have in this country, populations where a disproportionate share of our lethal interactions with the police occur.

You’re either being deliberately dishonest or demonstrably stupid–which is it?

Fyrfighter

Embrace the power of “AND” Poe….

“Minorities” in European countries also have higher crime and incarceration rates, it isn’t unique to America. I suspect is due more to the racist leftist meme that white people owe blacks/colonized countries.

Jarhead

Why, Poodle, waste so much time moaning and bitching about how terrible this country and its economy is? Just make like a hockey player and get the puck out of here once and for all. You waste your time writing, breathing our air, and spewing your unappreciated nonsense

YOU and the thousands of fruit cakes like yourself will NEVER change this country, no matter what. We all know it has some aspects that are not favorable, but still the trade off for the lifestyle you mental pygmies desire is NOT worth the fight.

BOTH parties? Really?! We are well aware of RINO country club scum selling us out to China, et al, but to say the Republicans have the same “narrative” as the average brain dead Dhimmicrat party member is SICK.

Mason

Any increases in the use of force in America (which for purposes here I’ll indulge as accurate) needs the reminder that we are a free country. We value personal liberty. We have rights. Our country was founded on independence and rebellion to a higher power.

People think they know their rights, but they rarely do. Therefore, people feel empowered to argue or fight with police.

Sapper3307

Point of order.

USMC Steve

You are not correct once again, Commie. The issue of both parties being deficient is untrue. This mess is totally on the socialist democrats, as it is only happening in their domain. And in every place it has happened, they have done nothing at all. THEY HAVE FAILED. In free America, it is not happening.

This was a dude being attacked, and using a very well placed and judicious application of legal deadly force. He shot NO ONE who was not a direct threat to him. He ain’t an “Oak Keeper” or anything like it. It happened in a blue state where the local and state officials have totally abrogated their duties, and thus don’t exist. He should not have HAD to be there, but he was because no one else was going to do what needed to be done. It is logical to assume at some point people are going to do what needs to be done, since there is no one else to do it.

These were the first shots of the Boogaloo.

rgr769

No dipshit, what an American is most likely to be shot, stabbed, or otherwise murdered by, is a black male. This is especially true if the murder victim is another black male. Moreover, people being detained or arrested by the police who comply and don’t resist don’t end up in the hospital or the morgue.

As for other countries which you consider so much better than this one, how about you go live in one.

MI Ranger

Please define “industrial society”! Which Countries fit within that definition.

Blaster

“Both parties are exploring divisions to maintain their power and preserve a corrupt political economy that puts the interests of the few over the interests of the American people and our nation.” I agree that they are. That’s why both political parties hate President Trump so much. He isn’t one of them.

“As an American citizen, regardless of the color of your skin, you are far more likely to be physically battered, hospitalized, or killed by the police in the United States than if you were a citizen of any other industrial society.” You cite no sources for this comment, but I’ll go ahead and call BS on it. I don’t walk around the police and fear for my safety. However, I have feared for my safety in some locations that were void of the police and the “locals” made sure to let me know that I was not welcome.

“Yet the American people are so divided on the issue that people are killing each other in the streets and the “Oak Keepers” have just declared a civil war.” You can thank Obama for the division!

“We are being conned.” Nope. You are. Most of see the BS for what it is.

“Manipulated.” There is a lot of manipulation from both sides in order to maintain power and especially from the news media. Again- this is why politicians from both side hate President Trump so much.

“Unable to see our aligned interests.” Tell that you the left side that shuts down any speech not aligned with theirs. We do have common interests. Can We have a civil discussion about them? I say no. Prove me wrong.

For everyone’s awareness, just in the past day a video has surfaced where people claim it is Kyle Rittenhouse assaulting a female. In my opinion, it doesn’t look completely like him but I don’t know the research that went into this, so not saying one way or the other. Some people are saying he is the one in the red, white and blue shorts on – not the tall one with a cap on.

penguinman000

It’s a random video off the internets. Similar to the video of the guy who was busting out windows at the auto parts store in Minneapolis. They claimed a guy in head to toe black with a full face mask respirator was a cop from an adjoining jurisdiction.

The only identifying features you could get off the guy were his predominant hand, approximate height/weight, skin color and sound of his voice. Hardly definitive proof. This video is of the same evidentiary value. Meaning little to no value by itself.

The insidious part of these videos is how they prey upon our poor ability to recognize faces/people who are of a different race. It’s called the cross race effect. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cross-race_effect

These kinds of videos do nothing more than stir the pot by preying upon a weakness of the human brain.

OWB

Could easily be one of those set up deals, the kind that doesn’t show the original punch – only the response to the original assault. Whoever it is.

It’s not Rittenhouse–not even that close…

rgr769

That is not Rittenhouse. For openers, the kid in the red, white & blue shorts is wearing glasses; Kyle doesn’t wear glasses. And for the benefit of our Progs, yeah I know he could have been wearing contacts, but I doubt any sane person would wear them to a riot where there will be pepper spray, tear gas, and smoke.

LC

Kyle doesn’t wear glasses.

This is why it’s hard to take you seriously. Even the kid’s own Facebook photos -one of which is literally the second photo if you google search his name!- show him wearing glasses.

Now, is that him in the video? Beats me. Looks like the same fairly unique shoes, but that’s hardly a ‘fingerprint’-level match. I think we’ll find out more eventually.

Of course, this must surely mean Soros hired hackers to post doctored photos of him on his own Facebook page, right? There’s no other possible explanation!

rgr769

Well, we are even, cuz just like Lars, I never take you seriously. Especially when it comes to any veteran or military issues, since you never served a day.

No matter what you think of the victims or shooter, anyone rushing to help save lives in the chaos deserves respect. And being a military veteran, it seemed relevant.

Sapper3307

She is ANTIFA according the web.

LC

Maybe so. But she also claims 20-years in the military, shot twice in Afghanistan, and serving as a LEO (US Marshal).

Maybe she’s lying, but a blog about the military and veterans seems a good target for a story about a military veteran rushing toward gunfire to help people, regardless of their politics. People don’t always fit squarely under one label.

rgr769

20 years in the military, shot twice in the A-Stan. Yeah, riiiight. And she has drunk all the Antifa Kool-aid. You Progs will believe anything that advances your narrative. Next we’ll hear she was a nurse and was shot rappelling out of a helo.

Green Thumb

Uh. Yeah.

Maggie Desanti.

26Limabeans
Green Thumb

I forgot about her.

I imagine she has been fairly busy working at All-Points Logistics.

MarineDad61

Green Thumb,
Maggie DeSanti wasn’t shot.
Maggie DeSanti gave herself LTC and the Silver Star
for NOT getting shot.

It’s so tempting to put up the Airport TSA
Push Ups video here.
lol

LC

Where did I say I believe it all? If anything, this blog makes you skeptical. But I didn’t know she was identified as ‘Antifa’ when I posted it, nor do I care. If it were a Trump-loving, liberal-hating idiot who ran towards gunfire to help people shot, I’d still have posted it.

Again, I’m hoping the ninjas do their work on that front. It’s a newsworthy story for a milblog though.

Ex-PH2

I’ve sent a message to the Illustrious Dave Hardin and AW1Ed to look into these claims and provide us with some backup for them, or show us the opposite.

She’s either been there & done that, or she’s pulling ad DeSantis on the media. Maybe they deserve that…. 🙂

A Proud Infidel®™️

You mean a Maggie DeSanti? DeSantis is the current Governor of Florida!

Poetrooper

Just curious, LC–as to why it is that you have to characterize your subjunctive Trump-loving liberal hater as an “idiot”–is that the way you see us conservatives?

LC

I’m quite sure I’ve called Hillary Clinton, amongst countless others, an idiot on numerous occasions. I’ve called myself an idiot every now and then. Idiots of any ideology annoy me, and the point was that even if it was someone I ideologically detest, …. I’d still have posted the story. Their actions, not their ideology, are what matters.

Do I think some Trump supporters are idiots? Absolutely. I imagine you do too. Do I also think some liberals are idiots? To borrow from Sarah Palin, “You betcha!”.

Poetrooper

Thanks, I thought that was your intent but the wording did make me curious.

FYI–sometimes I think Trump is an idiot, especially with his careless tweets and his childish name calling–but he’s still far and away my choice for president.

I’ll take deeds over words any day, anywhere…

LC

Look at that, we’re in another rare moment of agreement. Mostly, anyway.

He’s far and away your choice for President, and I’d rather he be far away from the Presidency.

https://imgur.com/gallery/sJb5h5i

Poetrooper

That you could vote for a ticket that is so obviously fraudulent, with a senile, corrupt old pol at the head and a desperate, do-anything, say-anything climber in the second seat tells me more about you than I really want to know. Just who do you believe you are entrusting the future of this country to? The DNC? The Democrat fools in Congress?

Good grief man, are you willing to sell out your country’s future so completely because you don’t like Trump?

We are NOT in agreement by any means…

LC

Our agreement was a play on words, Poe. The whole ‘far and away’ vs. ‘far away’.

As for senility, corruption and all that jazz, it took me a moment to realize you meant Biden, not the guy who brags about acing a cognitive test that healthy people always pass, and whose family had to dissolve their ‘charity’ due to fraud. And that’s the tip of the iceberg.

Ex-PH2

I think you got the terminology wrong on Hillary, LC.

Pit viper is close, but she’s more poisonous than they are. They would envy her volume of venom. 🙂

Poetrooper

Thanks, I thought that was your intent but the wording did make me curious.

FYI–sometimes I think Trump is an idiot, especially with his careless tweets and his childish name calling–but he’s still far and away my choice for president.

timactual

“If anything, this blog makes you skeptical.”

Nope. Life has made me skeptical. This blog just gives me another area to be skeptical in.

” I’m hoping the ninjas do their work”

Why don’t you do some yourself? You chose the article, you investigate it. You might try “Carol Badoni, Brossard” to start with “.

LC

For starters, because the key info relevant to this community will be whether her service record matches her claims, and I can’t easily verify that, whereas people here can.

5th/77th FA

Maybe she was trained by “Saggy Maggie” and had moved up WI way trying to get closer to “Alaska Bob”

Google Foo quickie is here: IDC SARC would probably hit it!

https://en.mogaznews.com/World-News/1574260/Military-vet-who-gave-CPR-to-Wisconsin-shooting-victim-tells-how-she-ran-.html

Green Thumb

If she can find him.

Alaska Bob is in some roadside bar between Anchorage, AK and Elko, NV drinking up the donation money.

Green Thumb

Waiting on the “Big Turd” Keith Keeton to bring his some God and justify his sins….

Ex-PH2

I find it odd that anyone who actually is ex-military, career or short-term, could be attracted at all to these thugs and what they do, and believe that they are some sort of innocents, when in fact, they are at least as dangerous as the thugs that are holding people up when they’ve parked their cars.

The second part of this is simple: why is it that these peaceful protests erupt into ultra-destructive at some point, and the entire purpose of the peaceful protest is corrupted into chaos, mayhem and destruction for no perceivable reason?

And then it’s blamed on someone who had nothing to do with it.

LC

The story seemed to indicate she was there to check out the generally peaceful protests… and then the violence broke out. When she heard the gunshots, she ran to help those hit.

As for why the initially-peaceful protests erupt into violence, I think that’s a great question, with a lot of unclear answers. First, it helps to recognize that you can have 1K people peacefully protesting… and one asshole pulls out a gun and shoots someone, then chaos is going to erupt. Add in that so many of these people are itching for a fight, and it seems like chaos is all but guaranteed.

Here was an interesting article that talked about how, of the 175 protestors arrested, 102 of them came from 44 different cities outside Kenosha. I’d love to know more, like states, but haven’t had a chance to dig up any more info yet. Given the protests were supposedly only around 1K people (unverified), that’s a huge amount of out-of-towners looking to cause mayhem. And that’s just the people arrested!

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8681623/Police-Most-arrested-Kenosha-protests-not-city.html

In my opinion, this is why blaming one side is fruitless. Blame anyone who instigates violence or looting, and give people who are remaining peaceful credit, and we’ll all get through this with a lot less chaos. When we demonize people who just want to protect their property, or people who want justice, we aren’t helping our own communities.

Just my take. I like to think we’re better than this as a country.

Ex-PH2

There is something very odd about her entire story. But it’s being looked into, and the reality will come up some day.

I do appreciate your posting that link, just so you know. It will take a while to find more info.

Thanks for posting the link!

LC

I’ll look forward to the update. It does sound a little too good to be true, but stranger things have happened.

When the world is on fire, though, the people who rush in to help are a good thing to focus on sometimes. A better thing than the ones starting the fires, at any rate. Even if she lied about her service (or embellished, perhaps), I give her credit for doing the right thing here.

Let’s see what the ninjas dig up…

Poetrooper

But does it not say something about the willing credulousness of the general public that someone as knowledgeable of the problem of Stolen Valor like YOU attached sufficient credibility to her story to bring it here and present her as a genuine heroine?

You’re someone well aware of Stolen Valor issues and how the perpetrators of that crime seek to attach themselves to major public events so as to appear heroic, yet you drop her into this forum of skeptics expecting acceptance?

Thankfully you are now developing some skepticism yourself but your initial post had me wondering just how naïve you could be.

If she turns out to be legit, kudos to you–if not…

LC

I brought it here with the full expectation -explicitly stated, even!- that TAH would do the due diligence necessary to get the truth of the claims.

How in the world is that giving credibility to her story? My hope is that if it’s true, great, and if it’s false, a light is shined on another case of SV.

I have no dog in the fight. I just saw a story relevant to a milblog, one way or another. Stop reading starry-eyed naivete into a post that literally says the exploits are claimed.

LC

Test. My other reply got filtered; just checking if I mistyped my address or something.

Poetrooper

Another leftist hero/heroine who turns out to be pure poison.

What is it with the left that they always pick scorpions and black widows as their military heroes?

When will you guys ever learn?

USMC Steve

None of the protests in Kenosha ever even started out peacefully. The bad actors started shit from the git go.

Of note here is that after Kyle popped the three criminals, they are a bit more orderly and subdued, lest they possibly get shot.

Odd how that works.

Ex-PH2

Don’t worry, LC, we have people who can and do check these claims out.

They’ll be on it.

USMC Steve

I don’t care what she has done – if she now claims Antifa and goes to riots with them, that makes her an anarchist and domestic terrorist. Thus the enemy. Back in 1860, some very good and dedicated officers bailed on the US and went to the Confederacy. Then they too became the enemy.

One awshit chit erases all the previous attaboy (or girl) chits.

AFCombatCAM

Well in 2009 she was having an affair with someone who murdered his wife…

Take this for what it’s worth.

https://www.gazettextra.com/archives/trial-to-begin-in-brossard-case/article_e6c2af94-9218-5977-a220-8ca43f305c86.html

Keepin' It Real

If you believe her claim about being in the military for 20 years, then she would have had to been moonlighting as an exotic dancer.

20 years in the military would have put her at getting out in 2008-09. She was 18 in 1988. This article was in 2008.

Badoni

Green Thumb

So she was dancing at All-Points Logistics at this time?

Working over the “non-Phildo” types?

rgr769

Welp, this is a disappointing development for ol’ LC. He was so hoping for an Antifa ex-military heroine.

rgr769

For the benefit of ol’ LC, lets do some math (I know that is hard for some). According to Ms. Badoni’s story, which was confirmed by LEO’s, she was living in WI in 1997 and having an affair with a married man named David Broussard. His wife disappeared that year. When the wife’s body was found at the bottom of Geneva Lake in 2003, Carol was still sleeping with Broussard. Later she told investigators that Mr. Broussard had told her in 1997 how he planned to murder his wife and dispose of her body, which eerily followed how the body was anchored to the bottom. Apparently at the prelim she provided the above testimony. She did not testify at the trial in 2009; Broussard was acquitted.

So, Ms. Badoni spent 20 years in the Army from approximately 1988 to 2008, with a tour in A-stan where she was “shot twice,” but she was carrying on a long term affair with Broussard from about 1996 to 2003, working as a stripper in WI, and periodically locked up mental facilities, when she wasn’t trying to commit suicide. I can see as how she would be an Army reenlistment NCO’s dream for re-up, even in the Reserve Components.

Combat Historian

While deployed to Kandahar, Badoni would shuck her body armor and M4 every Friday night to catch a freedom bird back to CONUS to perform as a stripper in Kenosha before returning to duty in A’Stan on Monday morning…

Yeah, I can see that…

Keepin' It Real

For those of us that don’t know – is a stripper the same thing as an exotic dancer?

Is there any distinction between the two titles?

RGR 4-78

There is no distinction between the two titties.

rgr769

Yes, if she had a top notch boob job, they are very symmetrical.

LC

Got a link?

Ex-PH2

Link for getting info or asking mods to get the info?

I already sent off a MSG to them to look into it.

Now I owe Dave Hardin a half-gallon of gravy.

5th/77th FA

Heeeeeeyyy! We like gravy too! You not sending any sausages with it are you? Or biskets? And a 1/2 gallon? Boy you do spoil him don’t you? Geez!

Poetrooper

You don’t know the half of that story–she has a gilt-framed 8X10 full-color glossy of Dave in his pink robe on her fireplace mantle.

Hope the Mad Russian doesn’t find out…

😜😜😜

Ex-PH2

She sent it to me with a note that said: “Eat your heart out”.

Poetrooper

Braggin’ huh?

Well, Dave would be the first to tell you she has a perfect right to…

Sapper3307

Beef or chicken?
I need a good beef gravy recipe.

Poetrooper

Dave’s so hardcore Corps it’s probably SOS…

Ex-PH2

There are three kinds of gravy. Each involves starch (flour or cornstarch or both), fat (butter or bacon grease) and a liquid to extend the volume without reducing the flavor.

I have no preference for which flavor is used, although I will admit to a hankering for chicken gravy with roast chicken, and sausage gravy with S.O.S.

Gravy is one of those Food of the Gods things. When Moses came down from the mountain, he brought gravy with him. Adam and Eve did not leave the Garden because they were curious souls. They were looking for gravy to add to the snake meat they had available after they killed the serpent. Gravy kept ice age hunters alive in the worst weather. They called it tusker gravy and consumed mammoth portions of it.

The tales I could tell you….

LC

That reply was to Sapper;I just meant a link to where Carol Badoni was identified as Antifa.

Ex-PH2

Got it.

OWB

Would have to agree with you, LC. It is entirely possible to respect someone for what they did in a moment in time without regard to the quality of the individual before or after that moment they did something good. Of course, its harder to do if it turns out that the rest of the story is mostly lies and/or exaggeration.

MarineDad61
Sapper3307

I remember the Bernasty story of “trained to run into gunfire in the TSA”.

Green Thumb

I see a lot of “Guilty’s” at the top.
