Space Forcepersons called “Space Warfighters”
The Space Force has now (at least temporarily) given title to their personnel. Instead of “Airmen” or Steve Carell’s self-obvious replacement “Spacemen”, the Space Force’s first doctrinal policy refers to Space Force members as “Space Warfighters” or “Space Professionals.”
The 64-page “Spacepower” document goes over the new branch of service’s core competencies and the several disciplines needed to ensure those competencies.
There’s definitely some missed opportunity here.

So then the US Space Force’s Officer Candidates can still be referred to as “Space Cadets” because THAT is still an androgynous term! 😀 😀
The Wing Commander games used “Spacehand” as the catchall term and E-1 rank. But I think the Warhammer 40K franchise has the better one: a junior enlisted (or indentured/enslaved, depends on the ship) man in the Imperial Navy is a “Voidsman.”

What I’d like to see is what they will call the intelligence branch of the Space Force. If the CIA has “spooks” I would guess the Space Force intel folks would be… Space Ghosts!
The cavalry branch will be “space cowboys”.

It should be Spacemen, to continue with the tradition of Airmen, Seamen, Marinemen, and Soldiermen.
Oh, and Coastmen. I almost forgot the Coast Guard…
