The Wapo!

Washington Post settles Nicholas Sandmann defamation lawsuit in Covington Catholic High School controversy

‘I turned 18 & WaPo settled my lawsuit,’ Sandmann announced on Twitter

Sandmann offered a not-so-subtle warning to Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey.

“We have settled with WAPO and CNN. The fight isn’t over. 2 down. 6 to go. Don’t hold your breath @jack,” Sandmann tweeted.

Revenge is a dish best served cold.  Read the entire article here:

Good for him.

Punch back twice as hard!

Awesome news!

Fyrfighter

Good deal. I’m thinking we’ll hear more from this kid, seems he’s going to have a bright future

The Other Whitey

Has No Teeth is an old asshole who happens to be an Indian. Despite his bullshit claims, he is not an elder.

I once ran a medical aid on one of the local reservations. The patient was old, drunk, smelled like shit, and was a prick. One of my firefighters that day was an Indian* from the same res. When the patient got more obnoxious and demanded that he be “respected” as an elder. My firefighter’s response was priceless: “Just ‘cause you’re an old piece of shit, don’t make you an elder!”

* He calls himself an Indian. He recognizes that “native” by definition applies to anyone who was born here.

Twist

Had someone of American Indian decent once tell me that unless you are a Long Faced Bear you aren’t a Native American.

Anonymous

Yes, Running Mouth may be an Indian and old but he’s not respectable.

rgr769

I like to refer to him as Ol’ Not-a-Chief Snaggletooth. He musta neglected to partake of that free dental care when he was a reeferman in the Marines.

No mention anywhere how much the settlement cost the WaPo. Certainly much less than $250M ….

Still, that’s a nice victory and a great 18th birthday present.

Hoo-RAAH!

11B-Mailclerk

Even a dollar to settle would burn like fire to those cretins.

And every settlement dollar is weaponized to go after the others.

Enter Sandman.

(Cue Metallica)

Slow Joe

I don’t know.

I like the Black Album, but it feels so…different? from the previous Metallica albums and the ones that came after St. Anger.

I still think And Justice for All is their best work. Death Magnetic is pretty good too.

UpNorth

I would wager that the two settlements are likely in the 6 figure range. They may have inched into 7 figure range.
It seems that, for lack of any word on it, that the settlements were agreed to to avoid the discovery process prior to trial.

rgr769

I would venture that each of them was in the six figure range. And the lawers have more target defendants to skin. Nick is going to be a very well-heeled nineteen year old.

Hack Stone

They haven’t gotten a dime from Hack for several years. Hack cancelled his subscription for two reasons, one being that he just doesn’t have the time to read the paper because he is still leading the coast to search for Elaine Ricci, and more importantly, he doesn’t like to be lectured to by their columnists. Case in point is that dingbat who has a column on Fridays in the Metro section saying that if you did not go to see and enjoy the Ghostbusters remake with the all female leads, you are a misogynist. It couldn’t possibly be that the movie sucked.

Green Thumb

Way to go, dude.

Kick ass!

Skippy

About damn time

26Limabeans

That was quick…and brutal.
Hope he nails the rest of them.

Be nice if he passes through here and hits the donate tab.
I would like to think TAH played a major role in setting
the record straight about “Vietnam Times” Nathan Phillips.

MarineDad61

26Limabeans,
Ditto.
Kudos to VG / TAH.
No one will ever again confuse Nathan Phillips as a war veteran.

On Wikipedia:
[Phillips entered the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves on May 20, 1972.
During his time in the military, he was trained as an anti-tank missileman and then served on active duty as a refrigerator technician in Nebraska and California;
he was shown as absent without leave three times.
He was not deployed to Vietnam or anywhere overseas.
On May 5, 1976, Phillips was discharged as an E-1 private
following disciplinary issues.]

Slow Joe

Luckiest motfer alive.
Won the lottery, several times.

By the way, Aeon has an article that luck, and not meritocracy, is what leads to success.
Of course, they are wrong as always.

I agree luck is a factor, but Meritocracy is the core of western civilization’s success.

https://aeon.co/ideas/a-belief-in-meritocracy-is-not-only-false-its-bad-for-you

26Limabeans

So my ARCOM for “exceptionally meritorious achievment” was in
fact just plain dumb luck. There I was minding my own business
doing my job when out of the blue I trip over an award for “merit”.
Could have happened to anyone.

11B-Mailclerk

“Luck” is what you make of happenstance.

Shit happens, but some folks grow roses from it.

Anonymous

Leftists love to push how merit is racist and bad all the time. We should be given everything for courting favor or something, that’d be better.

Slow Joe

Absolutely.

Leftists argue merit is a product of luck, as in being born in a prosperous country and in the well-to-do family.

They forget the millions of immigrants that have come to America legally with empty pockets, no family, not even speaking the language, and have built a successful life in this country.

But we all know who these leftist chattering classes are.

They are the college graduates that want high paying jobs right after college, without putting their time in. They get mediocre jobs writing crap for online mags like Aeon, and they blame the distance between them and the throne of their company on the pukes that believe in meritocracy.

5th/77th FA

Be nice if the settlement bankrupted the azzholes, but we all know that it will be paid by an insurance policy.

Just the fact they WaPo had to acknowledge they were azzholes was a win.

Congrats Mr. Sandmann. Notice we haven’t heard anything at all from ol’ Chief POS since all of this came down.

OWB

Good.
