Biracial Statesboro Man Charged In Fatal Shooting Of White Teen Claims Self-Defense</stron

ATLANTA, Ga. (CW69 News at 10/CNN) — The legal team for a 21-year-old biracial man charged with felony murder in the shooting death of a 17-year old in Statesboro, in southeast Georgia, last month claims their client was defending himself against an angry group of White people.

Marcus “Marc” Wilson, who is biracial, was in Statesboro visiting his girlfriend, who is White. The two were driving on their way home from Taco Bell around 12:30 a.m. ET on June 14 when they claim they were harassed by a group of White men in a truck yelling racial slurs at them, according to Wilson’s lawyers.

The group in the truck yelled “your lives don’t matter,” called Wilson “N***er,” and his girlfriend a “N***er lover,” attorney Francys Johnson said in a press conference Monday. Johnson says, fearing for their lives, Wilson, 21, “defended his life” using a legally registered firearm when he shot at the group.

Blue Lake shooting determined to be self-defense, gas station employee released from jail

by MARISSA PAPANEK
BLUE LAKE, Calif. — Humboldt County sheriff’s deputies said Wednesday they determined a man who was arrested in connection to a homicide in Blue Lake acted in self-defense.

Deputies said 39-year-old Mark Anthony Nelson, an employee at the Patriot gas station on Blue Lake Boulevard, shot a man who was robbing the business on the night of July 2. Around 9:45 p.m. the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a report of a possible armed robbery with shots fired. Deputies found a man on the ground outside the business with a gunshot wound to the chest, and despite lifesaving efforts, he died at the scene, officials said.

The sheriff’s office identified the man who was killed as 53-year-old Jeffrey Allen Kirwan of Santa Rosa through fingerprints, according to officials. Nelson Jr. had initially been arrested on murder charges that night and was booked on a no-bail status, according to officials.

Deputies said they learned Kirwan approached Nelson and a patron, who were outside the business, displaying what appeared to be a gun. Nelson and the bystander ran, and Kirwan robbed the business, officials said. Kirwan was shot as he left the business, according to the HCSO.

No Charges Filed In May Protest Incident
A Press Release from the Tulare County District Attorney’s office

The Office of the Tulare County District Attorney received reports from the Visalia Police Department for filing considerations regarding an incident that occurred on May 30, 2020, near the intersection of Mooney Blvd. and Caldwell Ave. in Visalia. The reports listed the driver of the vehicle as Suspect #1 / Victim #2 and one adult female protestor as Victim #1 / Suspect #2. The incident involved an altercation between a large group of protestors and the driver and passengers of a vehicle approaching the intersection. The vehicle in question was a late model Jeep Wrangler with its top and side doors removed.

According to the information contained in the investigative reports, the vehicle was being operated lawfully upon a public roadway and was sitting in traffic facing southbound on Mooney Blvd. Multiple protestors entered the roadway on foot intentionally blocking the path of the vehicle. This conduct is in violation of the California Penal Code.1 The vehicle was then prevented from moving forward in any manner without coming into contact with protesters.

Various cell phone videos2 of the incident showed two separate protestors enter the roadway followed soon after by a third person. Other video footage when analyzed in slow motion shows several water bottles being thrown at the vehicle and its occupants by protestors from the front, sides, and the rear of the Jeep. One of the protestors who blocked the path of the vehicle is seen on the video throwing a bottle directly at the front of the vehicle before she crosses out of the traffic lane (Video 1). Her identity was never established in the investigation.

As traffic cleared the intersection, the driver of the Jeep began to move the vehicle forward, making contact with an adult female protestor standing near the left front bumper. When the protestor refused to move, the driver of the Jeep turned his steering wheel to the left and moved the vehicle forward again. As he did so, a second protestor (a juvenile) crossed the roadway directly in front of the jeep.

Hot off the press, Delta Whiskies and Whiskettes. In article #3 the Tulare County District Attorney came very close to getting one right.

Toxic Deplorable Racist SAH B Woodman

I’d want to see any video of the supposed incident of Mr Wilson being threatened by whitie.
Otherwise it comes down to “he said, she said”.

I’ll have to try the linkee on another device, it just sits on my kindle.

The first linked article did not clarify how the two vehicles encountered one another. But having a gag order on the case doesn’t help clarify things either, although I noticed both of the defendent’s attorneys were quoted.

And I don’t care what race you are, someone insulting you is not a reason to pull out your gun, and it is certainly not self-defense.

I’d also like to note that the girl who was shot, (even though the occupants of the truck was described as “White men”) was on the passenger side and therefore not in control of the truck, and therefore not a primary threat. Given her age (17), she was probably a smaller target than the male(s) in the truck, which also makes the defendent’s claim of self-defense even more dubious.

The defense attorneys’ statements are, in my opinion, attempts at shaping public opinion before the other person/s in the truck can tell their side of the story.

(Side note: The caption for the picture for the article is near-incomprehensible gibberish.)

Ummmm…. please, the next time you post gobbledygook reporting, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE find a translator for it? Whoever wrote that article is not from this planet.

That’s 20 seconds of my life I will never get back.

Lots more to this story than the posted article shows. And, naturally, the “rest of the story” does not fit the narrative that the defense wants to present. According to this attached article, the girlfriend was in the truck when shot, not in his car. My question is why is a barely 17 yo girl in a vehicle(s) 30 some odd miles from home at 0100hrs…and dating a 21 yo man. The various towns mentioned in the articles are wide places in the road, Statesboro is a college town know for Georgia Southern University and a place where the Allman Brothers got the Blues.

BZ to the Blue Lake CA shooter on his center mass shot, defending himself, the public, and his business. That’s the way it’s done. WW grins!

Block my vehicle on a public road and you gonna get run over…or shot…or both.

So appros that a pocket rocket Artillery Piece from Colonel Colt’s facilities is named a Mustang. Was it a member of the E4 Mafia before it was made an ossifer? I want one! I do have a spare empty pocket.

5th/77th FA,
Not sure I read the article you are siting the same way. Which girlfriend are you talking about? The victim who died or the defendant’s girlfriend?
From the article you provided it appears that the Truck the victim and her friends were driving was on the right side (passenger side) of the defendant’s car. They either hit his car with their truck or something thrown or swing from the truck. While yelling racial slurs. At which point, the defendant took out his gun and fired at but missed one of the boys/men and accidentally hit the girl who died.
It will be a case of “He said” “She said” but the whole thing is racially charged, partially due to the facts identified by the family and lawyer: Misleading news briefings allowed to go forward, despite gage order. The police did not set the record straight, and the news spun it to be unknown gang members not a dispute between two parties that ended tragically.

5th/77th FA

Yeah, I scratched my watch, wound my azz and read the Herald story 3 times, then the CBS story, and dug into the Savannah Morning News at yet another take on it. I agree with you in that, again, the whole race thing came into play, the swarming of lawers, the pointing out by the ATL lawers on “no minority District Attorneys” down here” ect. Notice, too, the different pictures shown, glamour shot with the puppy, v the mug shot. I keep waiting for Al and Jesse to show up.

This is a real tragedy for all concerned, no matter how it finally turns out. Can’t bring that young girl back, and his life is ruined too. The FIRST paragraph of the Herald article started more confusion, “…”Marc Wilson…defending himself and his girlfriend…when he shot at the truck in which Haley Hutcheson, 17, was a passenger….” How did she get from riding in his car (Focus) to being a passenger in the truck with the supposed white boys? Is this just piss poor reporting? (shocked face) We’ll have to wait to see what comes out in the court. I’ll try to keep a weather eye out for follow ups.

One thing this type story does emphasize, what Mama and ’em told all of us back yonder…Nothing good happens after midnight.

Since there are no posts about memorial destruction today , I’ll add this I got from my daily IAFC”s online news letter. Washingtonville, NY.

Vandals cut down flagpole at 9/11 memorial for fallen firefighters in Washingtonville
Village police are asking the public for help in finding the vandals who cut down a flagpole at the center of a 9/11 memorial that honors five firefighters from the area who died in the World Trade Center collapse. The severed pole was discovered and reported early Wednesday morning. Washingtonville Police Chief Brian Zaccaro said the culprits used a tool to cut through the composite material at about four to five feet from the base, and scrawled a message in marker on the part of the pole that remained standing. He didn’t want to disclose the message while the investigation was getting started. Police suspect the same vandals also pushed over and damaged the sign for St. Mary’s Parish Center, about a half mile away. An eagle figure that had been removed from the top of the cut-down flagpole was left next to the toppled church sign.
