“I wonder if anybody would think I flipped if I went to LA, via Omaha !!!
Great tune. I used to know all the words to it and did it more than a few times at some really drunken parties, back in the day…..
RIP to a Great American !!!

“I don’t even have a garage, you can ask my wife!” Didn’t know he did that till long after I bought the Long Haired Country Boy album. Liked LHCB even more than MMR.

It was my Honor and Privilege to meet Charlie and the boys with the CDB on several occasions. A true American Patriot that loved his Country and had the utmost respect for all of Her Veterans. I could have posted any number of his hits that I loved, but y’all know how I am. I’m proud I’m a Rebel!

God’s Speed and Fare Well Charlie. Thanks for all of the Good Times. I’ll see you again, on the other side! Rest in Peace Brother!

Rest in peace, sir.
I saw him at Al Asad in 2009. Where I better at this, I would embed the videos I took. As it is here:

I was waiting in the crowd, pretty stoked to see him play, and just as he steps up to the stage a sandstorm blows in! Crappy luck, for sure. He kept playing for a while, as you can see, but it started to rain so he played Devil. . . and had to call it a night.

Saw him live twice, once in Colorado Springs while I was at Ft. Carson and once between my two Iraq tours; only about 20 years in between, but he was just as good!! Fair winds and following seas, Sir.
