Coroner identifies suspect shot by citizen in central Las Vegas Valley

By: Kristen DeSilva
LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Las Vegas police said detectives were investigating a shooting in the central valley on Sunday night.

The incident started about 6 p.m. on April 5, according to Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Lt. David Gordon. Officers were in the area of West Washington Avenue and Spyglass Lane, near Decatur Boulevard.

At the scene, LVMPD homicide Lt. Ray Spencer said the investigation started as the Metro air unit observed a motorcyclist acting “suspicious” in a shopping center near Sahara Avenue and Decatur Boulevard.

Spencer said the motorcyclist then took off recklessly, speeding northbound on Decatur. The air unit followed to a community near Decatur and Bonanza Road.

At Vermont Avenue, Spencer said the motorcycle either stopped or crashed. The rider got off, removed his motorcycle gear, then ran eastbound toward the Friendly Ford dealership.

The suspect then jumped a barbed wire fence behind the dealership into a neighborhood. Spencer said a citizen, a CCW carrier in his 40s, went outside and saw the police helicopter above him.

The man told police he saw the suspect, a man in his 20s, jump the fence. He reportedly told the suspect he was calling the police and to stop running. The man followed the suspect to a pathway in the condominium complex, Spencer said, when the suspect pulled out a knife.

“As I have stood in the crosshairs of those who target Second Amendment freedoms, I’ve realized that firearms are not the only issue. No, it’s much, much bigger than that. I’ve come to understand that a cultural war is raging across our land, in which, with Orwellian fervor, certain acceptable thoughts and speech are mandated.” — Charlton Heston

After all that beautiful gun pr0n you have posted in the past, and today you post THAT!?
Yes, I know it’s High Point. Yes, it’s functional and reliable. But seeing that first thing in the Oh-dark-too-damned-early is like a wet fish slap before the morning coffee.
Well, any port in a storm. And any firearm that goes BANG when you pull the trigger. I admit to having one, my first that I could afford. I keep it at my bedside, but I DON’T take it out to admire its sleek lines and graceful proportions.I
Ah, well, time to get up and prepare for the day.

I was looking over the selection of Mossberg shotguns at
Bud’s Gun Shop…There isn’t.
Then I looked at SG Ammo for 12 Ga slugs and 00 buckshot.
There isn’t any.

Early Christmas shoppers?

Tox Brother, you shoulda kept scrolling till you got to the accessories that were available with that thar Hi-Point. One was gingered the other kinda dirty blonde headed. And with the flotation devices they came with, the Hi_point Carbine might make it thru a leaky boat situation while crossing the quicksand lake during a tornacane.

‘Beans we gots plenty of cartridges down here, they’ve just gotten spendy as all hell. You may recall, one of the stops during my cancelled road trip was to have been Black Hills Ammo, where SiL worked. Had all intentions of bringing back more than a spare round or 2.

Dayum, the blonde’s crop top was almost short enough to expose the surgery scars!

I have over 1K rounds of 00 buck 2.75″ 12 gauge. I don’t shoot enough 3 Gun competitions to need that much, anymore. So, if you’re ever IVO Knoxville, TN, I’m happy to let several hundred round of it go, gratis.

Thanks Rod but I’m still sitting on a stash of slugs and 00
from the Obama days. I figured there would come a time when
I would be passing it out to friendlies such as you offered.
Nice to see I am not alone in that thinking.

Pretty much. No ammo except for oddball calibers and birdshot. Gun cases at stores only 1/3 to 1/2 full– anything that’s a current/former military or police weapon (plugs their mags) is long gone, only a dwindling number of purely civilian designs are left for sale. Anything cool comes in, it’s gone. (And that’s nsouthwest OK/Ft Sill.)

Thanks Brother, I know you are trying your best, I’ll see if I can help find some today?
all the best to you and yours,

At least it was a long story!

I may have mentioned that in the month of June, there were 2.5 Million firearms sold so I imagine some ammo went along with the sales.

Off topic but I don’t know if this additional info was already mentioned. Got it from Early bird briefing under Navy.

During a racist tirade caught on video, Joseph Fucheck waved a pistol around while yelling at a Black homeowner in North Miami-Dade. “Damn right, I carry a gun because I’m a 35-year former Navy SEAL!” he yelled. “Go look at my Purple Heart!”

Detectives found that supposed Purple Heart when they raided Fucheck’s Miami apartment, along with Navy certificates, dress uniforms and even portrait photos of Fucheck decked out like an admiral in front of an American flag.

None of it was real.

Fucheck, 58, has been masquerading as a Navy SEAL for years, adding another twist in the strange story that made headlines across the country. The Navy SEAL Museum in Fort Pierce, which maintains paperwork for all SEALs since World War II, has no record of him. A real retired Navy SEAL, who tried confronting Fucheck a few years ago, called the man’s bogus dress uniform a “total and complete mess.”

Even Fucheck’s own daughter says he never served in the military. She said Fucheck adopted the persona nearly a decade ago, making a sort of shrine to himself and his phony military service in his home — complete with folded-up American flag. He also liked to get free drinks at restaurants while wearing his uniform.

“He’s a narcissist,” she told the Miami Herald. “He just has to be the center of attention.
