UPDATE: Good Gal Sailor with Gun Stops Suspected Terrorist Threat

Springfield, VA – -(AmmoLand.com)- Gun Owners of America (GOA) Texas Director Rachel Malone released the following statement after a sailor used her handgun to stop a suspected terrorist at the Naval Air Station in Corpus Christi, TX.

“It is despicable when evil people such as this suspected terrorist attempt to carry out evil plans to take innocent life. I am thankful that the sailor at the Corpus Christi Naval Air Station was prepared to defend the base and that she took quick and decisive action to stop the threat. The sailor used her handgun to shoot back and thwart a potential terror attack. Because she was armed and trained, she undoubtedly saved many lives. I wish her a full and speedy recovery.

“This result is consistent with FBI reports which show that when an attacker is confronted by an armed bystander, casualties during the mass killing are either prevented or mitigated 94 percent of the time.”

Burglar fatally shot by homeowner in Everett

EVERETT, Wash. — A burglar was shot dead by a homeowner during an apparent break-in in Everett Thursday morning.

The homeowner called 911 just before 5 a.m. to report shooting someone inside his home in the 1600 block of 126th Street SE, according to Aaron Snell with Everett Police. Officers arrived to find a critically wounded man in his 30s. Officers and medics attempted to revive the man, but he was later pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators believe the burglar broke into the home and went into a room containing guns. The homeowner, a man in his 70s, awoke to sounds in his home, confronted the intruder and shot him, Snell said.

Detectives are still trying to piece together exactly how the confrontation happened.

Friday FGS Trifecta, Delta Whiskies and Whiskettes? I’ll leave this call to the sea lawers (sic) and not lose any sleep either way.

If the folks doing up his Soldier’s medal do not designate it as an “Impact” award, some clerk needs to fix the orders in processing.

Just abso-f#cking-lutely awesome.

Saw this on the inherwebz yesterday 11B, had the same reaction. ABC National Noos actually did a several minute blurb on the tube on evening part. Need to promote the MSG to CSM along with a piece of bling.

As a certifiable Barracks/Latrine/Guard House/Firebase Lawer I’ll go out on a limb here and declare this a trifecta, if for no other reasons than to say BZ for the Sailor Girl and to make Wilted Willy Happy. Saw a picture of the Sailor Girl, (and her K9 Pup) right after the CC Story FIRST broke. I liked the cut of her jib. Not sure where she carries those big brass ones she has.

Reckon the choir boyz gonna have to find another way to play their back up tracks for Sunday Services. Shouldn’t have spent all their budget on robes.

“…still trying to piece together how the controntation happened.” Here’s a news flash dippy. Mofo broke into the wrong house.

Where’s the farm girl to go along with the Mosin? We’ve got one here you know. I like farm girls. Most of them can cook, you know that don’t you? Loved the linky on the comparing those 3. I laffed and laffed. That was some funny sh^t right there I don’t care who you are.

Heads up for those that are paying attention. I will be placing the crown for the Weekly TAH Friday WOT up for grabs in a show of solidarity for our very own ChipNASA, a Rocket Logistics Scientist. Here’s to a successful launch of the FIRST passenger carrying Falcon X mission to the ISS.

We are trying to make a big deal of it for our children…kid of glad it got postponed so now it is on Saturday.
Here is to a successful launch! And recovery to hail the beginnings of the commercial Space era in the USA.

Jeff LPH 3, 63-66,

Here is a good one.
Q- why can’t you find an Astronaut at NASA around noon.
A- They are out to launch in the cafeteria.

I can indeed cook, pretty well if I do say so myself! My repertoire’s gotten a bit narrower because the kids are at the age where grabbing boiling pots and sticking fingers under the knife blade seems like a great idea to them.

There’s three of them and only one of me, so I’m tactically outnumbered, and duct tape only goes so far. Most of it’s currently in use for holding the doorknob covers on as the world’s biggest three year old has figured out how to otherwise pop them off (he’s also figured out how to peel duct tape off the covers, so they’re frankensteined with a mix of duct tape and packing tape along with a solid smack to the hand when I notice him trying it).

I do intend to be making carrot cake jam pretty soon (http://www.freshpreservinguk.co.uk/recipes/carrot-cake-jam) if I can arrange enough safe space to do so. Haven’t been doing much shooting lately, just knifework (and I’ve got the bandaids to prove it).

If that sailor gal feels like a homecooked meal and is in the neighborhood of the farm, though, I’ll get the head farmboy in charge to take hold of the trio of wrecking balls long enough to get her a good one!

Welcome Home farmgirl! Good to hear from you. Might wanna try a little baling wire to go with that duct tape. Or maybe some velcro and a ceiling? 😆 A length of knotted plow line could come in handy. And yep, I’d make or buy that Sailor Girl the meal of her choice, complete with beverages AND dessert. One for the puppy dog too. And a chew toy. Y’all stay in touch now, you hear?

farmgirl with a mosin nagant

Veeerrrry tempting on the baling wire etc! Three year old’s already figured out how to climb out a window to try to escape. Good thing his room’s on the first floor.

Of course, being three, he didn’t have much of a plan past ‘climb out window’, so when I came around the side of the house to collect him, he was still there. Unharmed but barefoot and more or less held in place by the geese, who he hesitated to just run through or past.

I’m going to have a head full of grey hair but a bucket and a half of stories well before he turns eighteen…

I’ll do my best to pop in when I can. The kids just tend to keep me offline a lot these days!

“Master Sgt. David Royer was on a phone call with his fiancee Wednesday morning while stuck in traffic on the Centennial Bridge near Forth Leavenworth when he saw a man ahead of him pull a rifle out of his vehicle and start shooting, FOX 4 of Kansas City reported.”

Sally Forth to Fort Leavenworth?

Nice hit Master SGT.

Ahem. Back on topic.

Nice work, Sailor!

Nice weapon for a farm girl…..

MI Ranger

Great job Sailor! Navy outshoots terrorist with rifle with just a pistol!
Hope the Philly DJ has a good lawyer, because they don’t like people getting shot over “stuff” even if it is your livelihood, and the story says he got shot in the back…kinda hard to claim you feared for your life…unless you were aiming for his gun and he turned and ran as you shot him!

Roh-Dog

Ah, the ‘garbage rod’. ‘member when you could get a rack grade for under a Benjie?
Shoulda pulled the truck up and tested the shocks.

Friday FGS: I wish (and pray!) that the rest of the underbelly would take a gander at the violence directed at them, for good reason, then take a long look in the mirror and change their headings.
If you do dumb sh*t, you run the odds of taking the ‘room temperature challenge’.
