UFO Revelations?

For those of you waiting with bated breath (or, if you’ve been munching nightcrawlers, baited breath) for UFO revelations, the government has opened a new portal so you can go look at formerly tippy-top secret UFO files.

The new database, hosted at WAR.GOV/UFO, includes material tied to Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAPs) through an inter-agency effort called the Presidential Unsealing and Reporting System for UAP Encounters, or PURSUE.

The move expands public access to UFO-related records after years of congressional scrutiny, Pentagon investigations and claims from military and intelligence officials that some aerial encounters remain unexplained.

Spoiler alert: (yawn)

I looked through some of the photos and video, and I have to say that while in some of them it looked like SOMETHING was there – I’m not ready to believe whatever was captured (usually a grainy point of light) is definitely alien. Matter of fact, the word “nothingburger” crossed my mind a few times.

The release marks a major escalation in the federal government’s handling of UAP-related information after years of mounting pressure from lawmakers, military personnel and former intelligence officials demanding broader disclosure surrounding unexplained aerial encounters.

Congressional hearings in recent years featured testimony from former military and intelligence officials alleging the government withheld information tied to unexplained incidents observed by U.S. pilots and defense personnel, helping push the issue further into the national security mainstream.

Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard said the intelligence community is coordinating a “comprehensive” declassification effort across multiple agencies, while FBI Director Kash Patel said the bureau was supporting the review process “with the same rigor and integrity we bring to every national security matter.”

The administration said the effort involves the Department of Defense, ODNI, NASA, the FBI, the Department of Energy, AARO and other intelligence agencies—a broad government-wide approach for an issue long treated as politically sensitive and heavily classified.

Hopefully the latest tranche of photos and recordings will settle the issue but from what I have seen and read about, any hopes you may have of watching an alien visitor family waving “Hi!” and flying off in their family sized flying saucer starship – ain’t happenin’.

The Pentagon previously established the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office, or AARO, to investigate anomalous incidents observed across air, maritime, space and other domains. Congress also previously pushed for rapid-response teams to investigate military UFO sightings and gather field data.

NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman said the agency would continue using scientific analysis and data-driven research to examine anomalous incidents.

“At NASA, our job is to bring the brightest minds and most advanced scientific instruments to bear, follow the data, and share what we learn,” Isaacman said.

The administration said additional records, videos and government files will continue to be released on a rolling basis through the new portal.  Military.com

Essentially this is “this is what we have seen” and it isn’t much.

Is it possible we have been ‘visited’? Of course its is. Within the very few thousand years we have been worth even noting to an interstellar species? Odds are getting thinner. More likely their assessments range from the dismissive to ‘their planet is really poorly managed’ at best. Given the cosmic distances involved, it’s more likely any visitation has been at a non-homo sapiens period in the far past, and nothing worth noting was seen, to us just being beneath the notice of any civilization who could actually build starships.  “Oh look, how clever, they have built flying machines without rubber bands.”

Maybe there is a giant interstellar sign as you approach Earth’s system : “Please lock your doors. Do not agitate the natives  by approaching their planet too closely. Please proceed directly through the system without stopping. Do not pick up hitchhikers.”

My question is: Can you tow the line with baited breath? But really, for all intensive purposes I could care less.

The top secret stuff will not be seen by the public. This top secret stuff is being held by the same peeps that have told some pf the past presidents when they asked for UFO info and were told, Mr. President, this info is on a need to know basis and you are going to be in office for 4 years so you don’t need to know. I wonder if they explain that the oil framed paintings of UFO’s during the middle ages are really lights from a light house reflecting on a cloud like the AF Base in England years ago…I remember the scrambled jets going over the white house chasing UFO Err, I mean birds back in the 1950’s…

The idea is definitely valid that we are not alone. Our own scientists so far have not discovered a mathematics to allow faster than light travel and are postulating that other “species” haven’t done so either, simply because the terran “best minds” cannot fathom how it would be done.

I remain skeptical about most of the sightings but do not rule out there are “tourists” to this particular “zoo” of interesting critters on the planet.

I also do not hold out faith that some visitor is going to swing by and help our species get over it’s petty disagreements and learn to really live together. Somehow, I doubt that an outsider would want to drop into that particular swamp and take on the job out of the “goodness of their heart”.

If outer space folks are really that advanced as to be able to travel the galaxies I fail to see what interest, other than pure curiosity would bring them here. I don’t see us as having much of anything of value for trade, certainly not of any intellectual value.

I am sure there are plenty of aliens out there in the universe.

Unless they headed here thousands of years ago and just happen to show up in our lifetime we will never meet them.
