Detectives Investigating “Self-Defense” Shooting in South Seattle

by Detective Eric Muñoz
Seattle police detectives are investigating the shooting of a 33-year-old man in South Seattle last night.

On Feb. 12 at 6:29 p.m., patrol responded to a shooting in the 3800 block of South Angeline Street. There, officers found a man outside with a gunshot wound to his chest. Police and firefighters provided him with medical aid. Medics took him to Harborview Medical Center in serious condition.

Police interviewed witnesses, photographed the scene, and collected video evidence.

Shortly thereafter, the 27-year-old shooter called 911 and reported his involvement. Police found him nearby and arrested him, recovering his firearm. Officers took him to SPD Headquarters and Gun Violence Reduction Unit (GVRU) detectives interviewed him.

Police determined that the 33 year old forced his way into his ex-girlfriend’s apartment and assaulted her new boyfriend, the armed 27 year old. He then shot the ex-boyfriend in “self-defense,” according to GVRU.

Once detectives completed their interview, they released the shooter from police custody.

A round in the brisket will change one’s attitude about assaulting anyone, as the ex-boyfriend discovered.

The threat posed by humans to the natural environment is nothing compared to the threat to humans posed by global environmental policy.

Class, repeat after me……..
Dude, she’s just not that into you any more. But her new boyfriend’s boolit is.
Fortunately for you, you have time to recover, pay your dues, get treatment, and move on. I suggest that you take advantage of your current situation.
Not everyone has had that same opportunity (RIP).

It would be interesting to compare those 44 cal rounds and guns of yester yore to today’s similar rounds, revolvers, and lever actions.
WARNING! DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME! Do not put a modern cartridge into a 19th century weapon.
#1-it probably wouldn’t fit.
#2-the metallurgy of the gun most likely couldn’t withstand the Earth Shattering KABOOM!

I was thinking of comparing the ballistics of a 44 Russian (or American, or Henry….) fired from a S&W #3 -to- a 44 Special (not Magnum) from any other modern revolver, with the same barrel length.
Etc, etc.
