Six Democrats urge military members to ‘refuse illegal orders’ in viral video; Hegseth responds

Secretary of War Pete Hegseth reposted the video, commenting, ‘Stage 4 TDS’
By Jasmine Baehr

A group of Democrat lawmakers with military and intelligence backgrounds released a video Tuesday urging service members to “refuse illegal orders,” a message conservatives blasted as a call to defy President Donald Trump and his Secretary of War Pete Hegseth.

The one-minute video, posted by Sen. Elissa Slotkin, D-Mich., and viewed more than 1.6 million times, features six lawmakers invoking their prior service while telling members of the military and intelligence community that “the threats to our Constitution are coming from right here at home.”

Slotkin and her colleagues have spent recent weeks introducing legislation to limit President Trump’s ability to deploy National Guard members domestically or launch military action against narcoterrorists without congressional approval.

None of that context appears in the video, titled “Don’t Give Up the Ship,” which instead frames the appeal as a warning to military members to “stand up for our laws” and “refuse unlawful orders.”

Conservative accounts countered the viral clip, citing military law and interpreting the call to action as an alleged appeal to commit treason against the United States.

“Elected Democrats just released a video encouraging members of the military to commit treason and defy orders from Trump and Hegseth,” wrote the conservative account Libs of TikTok.

Sen. Eric Schmitt, R-Mo., added: “At the end of the day, they’re mad the American people chose Trump and now they’re calling on the Military and Intelligence Community to intervene. Sounds a little ‘subversive to democracy’-ish.”

Fox News

Democrat sea-lawyers* opining in the video along with Slotkin are Sen. Mark Kelly, D-Ariz.; Rep. Chris Deluzio, D-Pa.; Rep. Maggie Goodlander, D-N.H.; Rep. Chrissy Houlahan, D-Pa.; and Rep. Jason Crow, D-Co. Exactly which orders they consider are illegal, and what the ramifications may be of refusing them were left unsaid.

Sen. Kelly is a disgrace to the US Merchant Marine Academy and the Maritime Service. We in the fleet despise that trash bag of a human being.

In person, he’s an arrogant little shit.

STSC(SW/SS)

They should recall this clown and Court Martial him. If found guilty bust him to E1 without pay.

I hear Leavenworth is nice this time of year.

That sonofabitch wouldn’t have gotten elected dogcatcher if he wasn’t married to Gabby Giffords. He uses her as a political prop, trots her out as needed to gain the AZ sympathy vote. Even though Gabby was from the other side of the aisle, she was an excellent representative for my area. Wasn’t afraid to put people over party. Kelly, on the other hand, is a bought and paid for Chinese asset that cares about nothing but Mark Kelly.

Hey, fuck-wit Dumb-o-crats!!! Protecting the lives of citizens and federal officers, protecting property, and keeping the general peace is WHAT THE NATIONAL GUARD does as a mission. Those are all LAWFUL ORDERS issued by the duly elected civilian CIC, Donald J. Trump the 45th and 47th President. Suborning insubordination and dereliction of duty is just another charge for all these scumbags after harboring fugitives, interfering with federal law enforcement. The Dems whole sanctuary scheme is illegal. Every single POS with a (D) next to their name HATES AMERICA! The hate freedom, they hate independence and liberty. They all dream of a totalitarian state where they rule with in a iron fist. Fuck all these bitches especially Kelly the most bitch-ass of them all.

Ditto. Bravo. My sentiment as well. You are correct. The D-rat goal is one party rule, their leftard , possessive, crypto-commie party.

rgr769

I typed “progressive” and the effiing autocorrect changed it to “possessive.” Although, their goal is to possess us and everything we own.

PC’s have auto correct, never knew they had it.
My Smith Corona Galaxy portable type writer doesn’t have auto correct. If I make a mistake, I put a small piece of plastic with white backing on it and put it over where the wrong letter is then hit the wrong letter key and the white substance on the backing blots out the letter error… Before white out came out…

rgr769

That just proves how ancient you are. Some posting here have never even seen that stuff, let alone used it.

P.S. Of course, this was about my happy ass in 1975, so I shouldn’t havr been surprised:

I’m a survivor of the Catholic School Nuns of the 60’s and said it on here before…Marine DI’s aint got shit on the Catholic Nuns as far as badassery. We didn’t get that paddle, although our principal Sister Helina threatened us with it, but we did get the ruler across our knuckles and even had one nun who would roll her ring around her finger so that the stone faced inward and crack us on the base of our necks. Then too, I lost count of how many times my ears were pulled or I got smacked upside my grape. But never the paddle – can’t say I survived the paddle. The hardest I was ever hit was by Sister Maria when my best friend Jeff hit the button on my talking View Master through my canvas bookbag during the end of day prayer. It had a Popeye disc in it and during the Our Father Oliveoyle was heard yelling, “ohhh Popeye, ohhh Popeye.” I got my head beat in that day and of course mom and dad took Sister Maria’s side. They never did believe me when I told them that Jeff did it.

rgr769

I still remember that smell, you must be in your seventh decade as well.

Odie

I’m not in my 7th decade yet, but I remember the smell in the mid 60’s. I think the people who oversaw the church budget were related to those that ran the small grade school i attended. They spent none of their budget on niceties when the old stuff worked just fine according to my mom.

Back in 1975, we had a volly FD newsletter and I’d put the sheets in the typwriter and wouldnt use the ribbon and the keys would punch holes in the sheets and then it would be taken to the mimiograph printe

David

Jeff, you’re off by about 20 years. Bette Nesmith Graham invented what we now call White-Out in the ’50s and correction tape came out in the ’70s. Boy, it was WAY easier to use than White-Out was. (If her name rings a bell – her son was Mike Nesmith of the Monkees.)

Jim

Don’t laugh. Samsung got the idea to use the Galaxy name for their smartphones from Smith Corona.

The “Seditious Six” ought to familiarize themselves with Title 10, §894. Art. 94. Mutiny or Sedition, which stipulates:

(a) Any person subject to this chapter who-

(1) with intent to usurp or override lawful military authority, refuses, in concert with any other person, to obey orders or otherwise do his duty or creates any violence or disturbance, is guilty of mutiny;

(2) with intent to cause the overthrow or destruction of lawful civil authority, creates, in concert with any other person, revolt, violence, or other disturbance against that authority, is guilty of sedition;

(3) fails to do his utmost to prevent and suppress a mutiny or sedition being committed in his presence or fails to take all reasonable means to inform his superior commissioned officer or commanding officer of a mutiny or sedition which he knows or has reason to believe is taking place, is guilty of a failure to suppress or report a mutiny or sedition.

(b) A person who is found guilty of attempted mutiny, mutiny, sedition, or failure to suppress or report a mutiny or sedition shall be punished by death or such other punishment as a court-martial may direct.

This the same Democrat Party that celebrated General Stanley McChrystal being fired over the Rolling Stone article where he (allegedly) said disparaging comments about Vice President Joe Biteme and the firing of Marine Lieutenant Colonel Stuart Scheller for his accurate assessment of the Afghanistan withdrawal, isn’t it?

And where were they when active duty troops refused the COVID Vaccine?

But refuse the death vaxx, ignore DEI or not play mental illness trans games, which are true illegal orders, are get booted within months with a dishonorable discharge.

This is at the very least sedition, if not treason.

From what’s above, TECHNICALLY they are calling service members to disobey unlawful orders, which we are already supposed to do. It’s if they say “THIS is unlawful, not because a court or lawful authority says it is, but because we do” that they go over the line. If indeed they actually say it. The quotes look like they imply but do not actually say it.

SFC D

Lawyer-speak weasel words. They implied just enough to encourage service members to question orders without implicating themselves. To me, that’s just as bad as directly calling for disobedience.

Not a Lawyer

While that is technically correct what they are trying to do is undermine the president and imbue fear and doubt into the armed forces, this is providing aid to our enemies. Lawful orders need to be followed quickly and accurately without the need for much analysis on the legality of them. Things that are unlawful are normally readily apparent.

It amounts to little more than remonstrance. If there were actually illegal orders being issued then they would have something real to investigate. Instead they conjecture, filling in the blanks themselves with wishful thinking and leftist fantasies.

It seems like we can never have a day when the TDS infected do not screech on the airwaves about the bogus manifestations of their acute mental illness.

Chief Engineer John Snipes told his men to stop feeding coal into the fireboxes, the Navy ship came to a stand still and the civilian coal feeders were re born as US Navy BT’s.

TopGoz

Thanks for this bit of history. I’d wondered why the black gangs were called “Snipes.”

SidneyBroadshead

I thought snipes were little flightless nocturnal birds that you had to try to catch at summer camp. The ‘snipe hunt’ is the forerunner of the military busywork gags.
My dad used to have his less focused students look for a left-handed skyhook or a pail of air.
My favorite is sending new sailors to look for Charley Noble (the letter code for the ship’s chimney on blueprints): “a big Black guy with a red neckerchief who does nothing but stand around topside and smoke all day.”

Commissar

Based on the comments a lot of you think telling service members they have a duty to disobey unlawful and unconstitutional order is “seditious.”

“Valor Guardians” my ass. Oath breaking fucks.

If it is seditious to tell military members to honor their oath and disobey unlawful or unconstitutional orders then every basic military instructor and drill sergeant/drill instructor is acting seditious for teaching one of the most fundamental and important lessons of military discipline.

You all have lost the plot. Suckling oligarch propaganda and Russian misinformation for two decades.

Brain rotted authoritarian bootlickers.

SFC D

I expected you to show up much earlier.

These.. lawmakers… did far more than just remind service members they have the right, the legal obligation to refuse and report an illegal order. Every servicemember understands this, we drill it into their heads. What these 6 asshats did was march up to line between advice and fomenting mutiny, press their toes up against it, and stop just short of telling servicemembers to ignore the orders of their commander in chief. You, as a simulated commissioned officer, should be able to recognize this. Should. Obviously, I’m giving you far too much credit. We’ve lost the plot? Negative. We know the plot far better than you, Commissar. You still haven’t grasped the concept that your lord and master, Obama, and by extension, his toady, Joe Biden, were far closer to being kings and puppet to the oligarchy than any two administrations in the past.

Now you go and have yourself a fine Friday. You may go now.

SFC D

Democrats unable to answer a simple question. Are unlawful orders being issued? It’s an enjoyable tapdance.
