Nancy Pelosi announced her intention to not seek reelection

Nancy Pelosi announced on video that she would not be seeking reelection. Pelosi announced that she enjoyed serving as a voice for her constituents while in Congress. She served as House speaker twice, first from 2007-2011 and then again from 2019-2023. President Donald Trump described the announcement as great for America. Trump also said that he was honored that she impeached him twice and failed both times.

“There has been no greater honor for me than to stand on the House floor and say, ‘I speak for the people of San Francisco.’ I have truly loved serving as your voice in Congress, and I’ve always honored the soul of Saint Francisco — ‘Lord, make me an instrument of thy peace.’ The anthem of our city,” Pelosi said in a voiceover.
“That is why I want you, my fellow San Franciscans to be the first to know I will not be seeking re-election to Congress. With a grateful heart, I look forward to my final year of service as your proud representative as we go forward.”
Pelosi has been a power player in U.S. politics for decades, having served as House speaker from 2007 to 2011 and then again from 2019 to 2023.
Her most recent stint in power also saw Pelosi serve as a chief antagonist to President Donald Trump during his first term.
Her constant clashes with the president, including tearing up his State of the Union speech while sitting behind him as he delivered it in 2020, earned her the nickname “Crazy Nancy” by the Republican commander-in-chief.
Trump cheered Pelosi’s announcement in comments to Fox News, “The retirement of Nancy Pelosi is a great thing for America.”
He called her “evil,” “corrupt,” and “only focused on bad things for our country.”
“She was rapidly losing control of her party and it was never coming back. I’m very honored she impeached me twice and failed miserably twice,” Trump said.
Pelosi first came to Congress in 1987 after winning a special election to replace the late Rep. Sala Burton, D-Calif.

Now, sure, Walz re-appointed him back in 2019 to a minor apolitical board of 60 people, so if you think that makes him a democrat, presumably via some kind of time-travel and parallel universes, good for you.
The guy was a nutjob first and foremost, claiming he was secretly trained by the military for off-the-books operations in Africa, Asia and the Middle East, and claims he wasn’t trying to kill anyone, just interrogate them about the impacts of the COVID vaccine. Clearly two more very ‘democrat-like’ goals. Also, Walz was on his target list that wasn’t a target list.
But in his own words, in his neighbors words, and in his voting record, he liked Trump and supported the Republicans, so no, not a democrat.

Strong religious beliefs don’t correspond to a an alignment on the political spectrum. Many Muslims for example consider themselves to be socialist but are all in on the moral system of the Koran, which provides for extrajudicial killings of gays and adulterers.
The left in the US falsely paints that as a conservative viewpoint, but nothing could be farther from the truth.

I don’t understand what you mean. He sounds insane; but also that he claimed to be killing a Democrat to support another Democrat running for office.
Given all the weirdness in government lately I’d say it is 99% unlikely; but these days we have to leave room for his likely delusions being an actual possibility. Interesting times we live in. If he was trained by the whoever, he wasn’t trained very well.
We certainly live in weird times, but I’m just as inclined to believe Walz ordered the assassination of Klobuchar (whom he didn’t kill) as I am that the Rothschilds control an unknown space-based laser that created the wildfires in California, which was an opinion voiced by Marjorie Taylor Greene at one point.
I obviously can’t say with 100% certainty that’s not a possibility, given technological developments… but I’m fine with it being fringe enough, and lacking in any evidence whatsoever, that despite being possible, it isn’t plausible.
