Matthis update
Matthis made a celebrity appearance at a recruiting station, somewhere. I’m guessing it’s in New York City since his squeeze Elaine Brower is there, and she doesn’t leave the city very often. But, apparently, he’s been busy eating up his VA benefits in college. Those benefits that he didn’t see a value in earning when he was called back to active duty.
Yeah, the evil military and the evil US government that let him continue his education despite the fact that he answer the call. Ingrate.
His Facebook page listed a mention of him in the Chicago Tribune. the author of the article, Robert Koehler, mistakenly described him as an Afghanistan veteran in an article about the subject we discussed last week about “war porn”;

I wrote the author yesterday to inform him that Matthis isn’t an Afghanistan veteran and have yet to get a response from him. I guess what Mathis writes is more important than who he is. But if the messenger is corrupt, the message is corrupt.

@46, Tracy, maybe it depends on your idea of what a father is. Mine had a very simple take on things. He told the three of us, “I don’t care if you’re a wino, a bum, stupid drunk laying in the gutter, you’re still my son. Become a thief or a liar and I only have two sons.” As he was a WW II, Utah Beach vet, any of us claiming anything we didn’t earn would have made us LIARS. He would have had only two sons and not given it a second thought. After 55 yrs, I don’t know that my family has ever lied to me. I know I’ve never lied to them. Respect for my father and family. Just an opinion.

#52 I tried a few times to get through the article and I just couldn’t do it. Any attempt to read further would have resulted in someone walking down the street 3 blocks away getting brained by my laptop…Methis can, however, find solace in the fact he is NOT a veteran, and those crazy dreams probably have something to do with whatever narcotic he happens to be abusing at the time.

What gets me about Matthis, and his flunkies is that its all about them. I bet if we showed him a picture of him being adored by a crowd he might stare at it for 20 years.
Me? I think its a shame you can’t sue him for slander (which he is guilty of btw). You really cant sue some one for slandering an institution. Even if it was an institution you love and hate with the same passion of that really hot Biker chick that gave you one hell of a ride, and also possibly an STD.
I don’t mind responding to Tracy. For years now I have been contacted by those formally enamoured of my son and subsequently seriously scorched by him. It breaks my heart to see such pain. Many sons have done such things and folks such as yourself have come forth and stated, “How come the parents never said anything; they must have known”. Well said. You have my sympathies. Being backstabbed always hurts the worst when it’s from someone close.
Tracy:
I believe Dr. Chiroux did initially support his son. He is no longer supporting his “son” because his son has since publicly lied about his father, recycling vile accusations that have previously been proven false.
In short, Mathis is a fornicating liar, and has gone so far as to tell, publicly, abominable lies about his own family. In my book, that is far worse than his lies about his imaginary “Afghanistan vet” status. The fact that he’d lie like that about his own family is proof that he’s generally a worthless piece of excrement, deserving of no sympathy or support whatsoever.
I was directed to this thread by a friend, and while I have not read every post under it, I think we can all learn something positive from Matthis.
Matthis is a great example of how good mine, and your, lives are doing. People like Brower and Matthis are just bigots of a different design. Like any bigot, they wake up mad at the World. They will never be happy, they will always be self defeating, and they will never understand peace what it’s like to achieve anything great or good. When I see that these people are still up to the same old thing it makes me feel even better as to where I am at in life and how things are going.
I imagine it’s the same reason people watch “reality” t.v., of which I do not, to see other people acting like complete fools and saying to themselves: “I’m glad I’m not like that.”
